  1. Question for all you Orlando people - What is the best way to track/sample data speeds that would be relevant to every one? I currently have an iPhone4S so no LTE, but plan to get an LTE phone in the next month.

I travel for work and cover Orlando, Melbourne, up to Jacksonville, over to Tampa, and up through the Panhandle... With all this driving, I thought I could add some value by having a service run on my phone to track data speeds.

Is Rootmetrics/Sensorly the best choices? Sensorly doesn't have a good way of doing this now on the iPhone, so I was thinking about using Root Metrics.

    Thoughts.. opinions.. nobody cares?

  2. I can agree with that statement. I went into the Sprint store several days after getting my iPhone 5 and mentioned to them that there is LTE present around my area. They said, o"oh really ....we didn't even know that." As if I expected anything different LOL....

Also, from that frequency sheet that is supported on the 5S...Did I not see 800 on there??

    1900 and 800... It's dual band but no 2600!

  3. Unless the salespeople are avidly reading S4GRU, they tend to be pretty darn clueless about when LTE is coming.

Yeah I had no other reason to go in there other than to play with the Note 2.. Thought it was a valid question so they didn't harass me while I tinkered lol.

  4. Stopped by my local sprint store in Lake Mary.. asked about LTE but they said they had no idea (wasn't expecting any different).

Also tried the Note 2.. I think I will be able to manage with the swype texting with one hand. By wrapping my hand around the phone, I was only short by a couple of millimeters... B)

  5. This is good news if the HTC One Max has a removable battery and microSD card slot.  This will definitely win back some HTC customers who flocked to other phones due to the lack of these 2 key features.

I wonder if it would take away from the unibody design that every one raved about on the HTC One though. That was one highlighted feature for the One over the S4 was based off its aluminum body and build.

It will be interesting to hear and see what happens if it is a plastic back  B)

  6. One of the rumors I read about the HTC One Max mentioned SD card support (and they would defintely need to do it if it comes with just 16GB storage). So there would need to be a removable back.

Just googled around and came across this. http://gadgets.ndtv.com/mobiles/news/purported-images-of-htc-one-max-dual-sim-with-fingerprint-scanner-appear-online-411760

Sounds very similar to what the guy at MacRumors was saying!

  7. A user over at MacRumors supposably had a chance to play with the Note 3 and HTC One Max... Will provide updates and see if it is true. He mentioned it being longer than the Galaxy Note 3 and quite a bit heavier.

However, he said the back was able to open? And I inquired about a square sensor on the back he was not sure about and is investigating further tonight!

  8. Haha, I have only played with a Note 2 for a couple minutes. My brother has one on ATT that I got to try, but was hard to determine real world use.

Terrell, your hands must be huge haha. As an example, I can wrap my middle finger and thumb around my iPhone4S and they only overlap by about a fingernail.

What is the latest return policy for Sprint.. 14 days or 30 days? Thinking I could always try the Note 3 and if I deem it too large, can just return it and jump back to the iPhone.

  9. I am not actually in Orlando, but their market. I live in Auburndale, FL, but I'm working out of town right now. My job-site is in Rockledge, and at the end of the day I am staying in Cocoa Beach M-F. I do not know for what city that was for.

You're in the right spot! I have seen good service in the rock ledge cocoa area on i95 in the past.

  10. So there has been no 3G data on the UCF campus since last night. What the heck! I'm seeing a decent connection to 1xRTT and eHRPD but no data. Anyone know what's going on? In the meantime I'll be rocking on the 0001 Verizon PRL lol

Have had poor 3G service all day on I4 and by the Millenia mall.
