  1. Speaking of low coverage, seems like sprint has had a bad rep of having low to no service pockets within the city. Building penetration is another one even though I work 1/2 mile away from a tower, most sprint phones will switch to 1x indoors.

Are there frequency changes that come with NV?? If so, would they allow for better building penetration?

I am in the same boat, well not the same, I am a few miles away from a tower, inside my building at work...no signal. Walk outside, 3-4 bars instantly.

  2. I have Airave 2.5, roadrunner cable internet 10-12mbps d/l. For the most part I notice ok voice quality...I wouldnt clarify it as crystal clear but also not bad.

I got mine for free though due to weak signal at my house, not sure what your particular circumstance is with buying an Airave but if its due to bad signal at your home call Sprint and explain this, they may send it to you free like they did for me.

  3. The tower north of the Base on pacific Ave is being upgraded, it could be that they took it off line. There is also another tower East of the main gate on 3E but I don't know what the status is. I had similar occurrence yesterday closer to the Pacific site, I had full bars but no data.

You are probably right, I had just never seen that before. Good to know though that the interruptions will all be worth it as upgrage is in progress. After NV is complete here, the only other thing I can wish/hope Sprint can do is build a new tower out here in the Foothills.

  4. Well after 3 HTC devices, I opted for the S4, mainly for something different. But to be honest I grew tired of HTC and Sense. Was really upset they billed the EVO 3D as a flagship phone then basically tossed it aside, but oh well what can you do.

For me the camera, removable battery, and microSD card slot are big selling features of the S4. The unlocked bootloader is a bonus for a ROM flasher like me :)

    Phone gets delivered tomorrow...cant wait

  5. Something definitely was up today. Had some training over at the Air Station and could not pick up a data signal at all...i mean nothing, not even 1x.

Tried PRL and profile update...got the error (67 I believe). Anyone else notice this issue in Yuma?

  6. The sites that were reviewed were the one by Ave A and 32nd street By Kofa High and Ave B and 20th street.

Hopefully they also submitted some permits with Yuma County for us folks in the Foothills :)

I'm still rocking my EVO 3D, waiting to see what the next EVO iteration will be, but I'm leaning to the Galaxy S4.

  7. according to some supervisors from tech support, Yuma has a voice and data outage that is scheduled to be fixed by March 1st. This was from two different sources, Tech support and local store. Take it for what it is, I know we can't trust those two sources but they seem to be synced on this.

    Thx for the info!

  8. I don't think any deployment is going on in Yuma. If anything just capacity upgrades and speed upgrades.

Yeah thats what I'm thinking, I know there was unconfirmed word that Yuma LTE deployment (along with Phoenix/Tucson) was bumped up early to this winter/spring.

I was holding out hope...guess I still am.

  9. My wife and I have been experiencing some very bad text delays in Yuma. She got 3 random texts last night that I sent her more than 2 days prior! I'm sure its likely due to these larger issues, but also FWIW my office is literally in a dead zone, I'm lucky to get 1 bar and data drops all the time.

Been wanting to upgrade my wife's EVO Shift to the Note 2, but not sure if I should wait...give them to the summer and see if things get better.

  10. Yeah, I was out at Yuma Palms this Saturday. Noticed signal going from full bars to no bars constantly. Was pretty annoying. Is it like that all the time. I remember when we moved here about 2 years ago the signal in town was leaps and bounds better than in the foothills. Seems to be reversed now.

  11. Possibly, I still don't think Sprint has confirmed that Yuma market was bumped up for Network Vision. But like I said, it does appear to have gotten a tad better here on my side of town. Maybe I'll take a drive by the towers and see what I can see.

  12. So question. If Verizon and/or ATT put in LTE towers would Sprint be more inclined to sign roaming deals with them vice installing their own LTE?

I've not noticed any significant changes in the network. On the flip side I was in San Diego this week and I didn't notice a huge increase in service there than in Yuma.
