Herndon and whatever that street is where the blood center is is in progress as well. That, assuming the shaw/41 site is in progress (which it probably is; by now I think I can spot an upgraded site from two towns away) puts fresno at 9 sites remaining.

Pretty sure the Shaw/41 site has been upgraded. That makes a north/central Fresno cluster launch completely doable.

I like how the CEO of the phone maker "discovered" this.
-
That's a microwave/PTP wireless link for backhaul. Clearwire used to love using those on their Wimax deployments.
-
Looky what I found. This was probably a test signal from the Palm/Herndon site, though it could have been form the site to the west or south of this intersection.

I'm waiting to see the sheath go back on the stealth site over by Home Depot. I would imagine that won't happen until the site gets inspected.

Greater than 75% of the greater Fresno area's sites are in progress or better.
Launch it already.

Somewhere in north fresno.

New milestone for Fresno; I found a roofmount site in progress today.

anyone know why LTE is no longer getting upgraded in the rest of Bakersfield because while I get killer LTE at home I get poor LTE in almost all spots around down East side there is hardly any LTE & parts of the South West same issue just don't see anyone working on towers any more thanx for all help
The east side of BK has some non-LTE accepted towers. Don't bother looking for any tower work at this point; the LTE portion of the upgrades can be done on the ground. Soonish, though, the B41 deployment will begin. This will incur more tower work to hang the new goodies. I know Clovis and Visalia already have B41 permits working through the system.
In other news, I found another upgraded site in Fresno today. Thank god my new employer pays for all of my gas...

If they can do the one on McKinley by the airport it will make for a nice big cluster that can be launched.

Oh, Sprint is definitely on the bottom of the Ashlan / Clovis site. The new antennas in the top rack don't look familiar to me, but the old setup was classic TMob so who knows what they're up to.
-
Sprint is the only carrier on that tower. The antennas that are up there now are new, I can assure you.
Tmob is on the industrial technology building (aka, the dungeon) on the CSUF campus. AT&T has two sites on campus; one is a monopine over near the dorms and the other is a standard monopole over near the police station, and VZW is on the water tower. AT&T also has a site on the south side of shaw near Don Pepe's.
God I need a new hobby.

The peach and Dakota site is in progress; feel free to get pics of that one too.

It has new antennas. They looks imilar to the old ones at first glance.

Is the flag pole site at shaw and 168 a sprint site? Can anyone say what they're up to over there?
Sent from my Nexus 6 using Wishful Thinking
Yep, it sure is. It has been unsheathed like that for about a month; I'm fairly sure the new hardware is in place on the ground but the new antennas aren't up yet. There are new cables in the rung below the existing antennas, however.

Downtown is horrendous, no doubt about it.
The Sprint service is pretty bad, too.

I am on the 4th floor of a building right across from City Hall, and I rarely get a 3G signal even sitting next to a window. People do not use 3G at home as they usually have wifi, but it is different in downtown. Sprint knows about it, but doesn't seem to care. The old WIMAX signal is a whole lot stronger, but you can't leave the window. I wouldn't mind 3G even if it were in the .5 mbps range, but that is just a dream.
Oh yeah, that's a bad part of town. You're probably on the building-mounted setup across from the bank of the west. That site is routinely maxed out.
They do need to build another tower over near the train station or something.
-
What part of downtown are you in?
-
No, service downtown has always been poor. Not enough capacity for the daytime population, and not enough density to penetrate all the old buildings.
Oh I know it's poor, but it still says 3G.
-
Is it that bad that no one wants to talk about Fresno getting Sprint LTE? Hell, Redding is getting it and that is kind of like a punch in the gut for us Fresno residents. Hell, I can't even get 3G in downtown.
There's something wrong with your phone, then.

There are sites accepted for 1x 800, but I don't think anyone has confirmed that they are actually broadcasting in that frequency. The only acceptances of any kind are at the south end of the city.
