Hurr, yeah that's what I meant. I was dead in the water most of the day yesterday; eventually I was able to do a speedtest via the tower off Ben Maddox but like you said the latency was high (1100-1200 ms) and the speeds were like .04/.01. The tower on Caldwell and the one on walnut seemed to be operating normally.

The eastern end of Visalia has zero data service right now. I noticed it this morning when I was out near Farmersville, but it's no better here near Martha's Vineyard.

Hopefully this is worthwhile.

I believe there's a walmart with a mcdonald's located to the left of the mcdonalds near the fork in the road, too. The tower is to the right of the third mcwalmart.

I see that the tower at 1401 Caldwell in Visalia had a Sprint permit filed on 4/26/13. The description contains the magic words:

INSTALL 2 NEW EQUIP. CABINETS, 3 NEW PANEL ANTENNAS, AND MISC EQUIP.

Yeah buddy. One of my clients is directly beneath that tower.

Somewhere has to be last. And I think most Americans would chose Fresno and Bakersfield to be last. Not me, personally. But I hear the jokes.

Oh relax. At least the UCV has begun the process; we can't be far behind.

Yeah, I went by there again today and confirmed that they're working on the lower rack, which appears to be AT&T.

They're directly east of Boomers on the east side of the 41.

Well then, we may be in luck. I'll check it out up close ASAP and report back.

I went by there today and there was a lift with some workers going at it. The problem is that there are two towers in that same basic area: One is a monopole that looks exactly like most of the sprint towers around here (but not all of them, because there's one that looks just like that one that is across the street from my office but is definitely not a sprint tower) and there's also some panels up on a self-supporting lattice structure. It was the lattice structure that was being worked on.

I'll make some time to go over there and check it out more closely.

Killer. I'll be at the HRH in July, and we all know that nothing pairs better with a drunken stupor than LTE.

I drive by there fairly frequently so I'll keep my eyes peeled.

I'll be more excited when they actually start hanging new goodies.

Do you know which tower it's for?

The thing that really sucks is that for the past year I have receiving dates for launch, and then the dates come, and new dates get issued.

 

It is like when your parents promise to get you something or take you somewhere and you keep asking about it and they say next weekend, and the next weekends keep coming.

 

I just want a solid date and have them stick to it.

The UCV market is supposed to start before LCV. Does that make you feel better?

What Sprint is doing is complicated enough to preclude a "hard" date. They're upgrading all of their towers and running new backhaul to most of them. It's not like they're trying to go on a beer run or something.

It definitely happens on AT&T devices.
