  1. Well crap, my adoptable storage took a dump on Monday. Not sure the issue as I can't get to any logs, Android sees the card and "checks" it when inserted, then gives a message that the card is not there. I put the card into my Windows box and it sees it as a SCSI storage device, but nothing more. That is apparently correct. I grabbed a linux live disc, but haven't booted it up under that. apparently I can decrypt from there, but I need to root to get the decryption key...

    I'm faced with two options

    1. Root, get the decryption key, attempt to decrypt, then start over or go full monty and toss CM on the phone

    2. forget the adopted storage, wipe it and start over.

I really wish google offered a way to provide the decryption key or some better error messages to know what went wrong with the adoptable storage. The SD Card has been in my device basically since day one, it was only removed when i needed to get the Feb security update and I pulled the SIM.

I'm frustrated with Lenovo/Moto as this device was advertised/sold as a "Pure Google" experience, but we haven't gotten 6.0.1 and are hanging out on the Feb security update. My plan was to sell the phone when the new Nexus comes out in the fall, but unlocking/rooting will void the warranty.

Also the fact that CA isn't enabled/doesn't work is frustrating too. Not sure if that is Sprint or Lenovo to blame there...

If anyone can think of a third option, I'm open to suggestions.

Feeling almost all your pains bro. Sucks ass. Very disappointed with Motorola this year.

  2. I had issues with my Moto X Pure when traveling to Mexico, so here's what I learned so far.

Before crossing the border make these changes:

Go to settings > More > Cellular Networks

    Data Roaming should be ON

Go to Preferred Network Type > Select Global

Turn phone off for 5 minutes, then turn it on while in Canada or wherever you are roaming, the phone should start searching for signal and the roaming carrier.

Cellular will register to make calls but data will take a few minutes to hours to register, I have tried turning the phone off and on a few times and it will work.

    Hope it helps.

Just came back from Punta Cana after a week of no data. I tried EVERYTHING and nothing worked. Here are some screenshots of the GSM network over there. It was only 3G but my wife was getting a constant 2mbps DL on her iPhone while in 3G. Edge was unusable for data ????. Sucked but at least I enjoy my vacation more than being on my phone.

  3. When was the shutdown scheduled for your area? Mine was yesterday. I should have elaborated that my signal has been jumping around from SprintB41 to SprintB412 to even SprintB252. So if I had to guess there has to be some additional optimization if the Clearwire gear can now broadcast b41.

    Yesterday too, Miami FL.

  4. I am now having less b41 connections where normally I would have either Clear or Sprint b41. It's not everywhere but in a hand full of places. I updated my prl n everything else. I strongly believe some b41 went down too. I'm seeing more Sprint b41 but many places fell back to b25. Like I stated before, even my wife at work that had LTE, now has 1x. She updated and now it switches between 3G n 1x...but never again LTE.

  5. So I went back to the well of the @marceloclaure twitter account to try to get answers on why carrier aggregation is not working on the MXPE. The first response I got was "The device doesn't have the built in antennas for band 41." That was roughly the response I expected, so I sent back a message from the FCC docs regarding the certification for B41 CA and B41 support in general. Not sure I'll get anywhere, but might end up with something new...

Also, I was on the Wall article from last summer about this device and I notice that there is now a bold red line that the B41 CA may not work with the MXPE. I have no clue when that was added or who added it. There is no information in the comments or anything I could find in this thread. Any idea who or when that was added and why?

I gave up after talking to ALL the companies having to do with this issue.

  6. My wife at work would get a 1 bar lte b26 signal very deep indoors. Since yesterday she only gets 2 bars of 1x. Wimax shutdown is the cause of this? Is Sprint shrinking their coverage??!

  7. Phones back to normal as of this morning, must have been a sprint thing on there end. But a question, a friend of mine has a pure also and on sprint but he wants to know can you swap in a att/T-Mobile sim, and after doing what ever just pop his sprint sim back in with out calling sprint or going online to do anything? Thanks.

  8. Got the phone activated and it's sweet. One question though on signal check pro I don't see what band I'm on? Is that normal? Just curious what I was on.

  9. Well so far it's awesome, way snappier than I though it would be. But should I give the cutting if the sum card down or wait and get the right one tomorrow?

Cutting the card won't work. U need a specific one with a specific numerical. Same one as the HTC m9 for example.
