  1. Previous Project Fi or Google devices (Nexus 6 and Nexus 5) had Band 41 support but not Carrier Aggregation (LTE+?) support. Easy to get them confused with the Nexus 6P and Nexus 5x which both do support and have CA enabled right out of the box.

I get it...but they specifically said none of the Nexus devices... None. Lol.

Now, does anyone know about the Moto X Pure? Supposedly it does, and I have yet to see anything past 78mbps.

  2. Could it be plan related? I can definitely see sprint disabling CA on unlimited plans.

My wife is upgrading to the iPhone 6S in a couple of days... I will find out then, but I doubt it. No difference between 50-60-70+mbps unlimited to 100+ unlimited. Those are huge chunks of data regardless.

  3. No, you misunderstand the second carrier designation. The second carrier does not necessarily mean that CA is active. If that were the case, then only CA capable devices would be allowed to use the second carrier. It would sit idle most of the time -- that would be poor network management. Instead, traffic is split up between the carriers. Sometimes, you will be on the first carrier, other times on the second carrier, other times with CA on both carriers.

Oh, makes sense. Thx for clearing it up. Still, kind of sad... The Moto X Pure is capable of CA yet its not 'active' :(

  4. Signal Check Pro tells you when you're on the second B41 carrier. It does not tell you when you're on CA. Therefore, you were likely on just one carrier at a time and why your speeds have not exceeded 78Mbps.

Not according to what I've seen withing the app... Also, they even stated in the app description.

  5. Thanks for sharing your experience with me. I'm looking at the Nexus 6P and the iPhone 6S as well as the new Moto X. As much as I like the iPhone's quality and good radio performance, I like the freedom of Android even more.

So for me, it's coming down to the Moto X which I can get right now, the Nexus for which I'll have to wait a month, or the iPhone which will require me to change my workflow. I guess it will depend upon how much longer I can tolerate my M8.

    Have a great evening!

Of you don't care about getting the newest version of Android 1-2 months later than the Nexus' the Moto X Pure is your best option. Android, great hardware, amazing stock software with Moto added features, customization, and great reception.

  6. Coming from an LG G3, this phone has the most amazing reception I've ever experienced. Signal for voice and data show 1-3 bars more where I would normally get 0-1 with my G3. Speeds are more consistent and maintained.

Not just because it's a new device, but I love this phone!

Do you guys think Sprint has already done testing in clearwire markets to adjust their native towers when clearwire towers go down in order to optimize coverage and speed in the gaps, or will this begin after the clearwire service goes down. I am worried about severely degraded service for months as they take their time to make resulting adjustments in all the clearwire markets.

Good point. I doubt we'll suffer from degraded service like NV times...

  8. It is handy for people on shared data plans. You can track usage as a whole, or by individual in near real time. It is also very easy to report network problems in app.

    This.

And to pay my bill is 3 taps away.

Very handy and useful. Surprisingly lol.

  9. Well try to activate with the add-on and report back how did it go. If Sprint already provided a fix, then you should have no issues.

Well, well, everything went buttery smooth! Apart from being delayed 2 days because of US Customs. Activation was a breeze.

I didn't have to remove ANY of my add on. I simply wrote in my imei number (left out last digit), wrote in my sim card number, clicked activate, and i didn't even have to chat with anyone! Phone was activated instantly.

At a quick glance, the signal strength for LTE on this device is AMAZING.

    Here's some eye candy ????:
