  1. Will current Sprint subscribers be able to switch to Oberthur Technologies' (OT) new SIM cards free of charge without having to purchase a new phone? That would be awesome. Link for reference: http://www.businesswire.com/news/home/20150602005917/en/OT-Offers-High-Speed-Network-Access-Sprint’s-Subscribers#.VXdaaVJOKnM
  2. Network-wise, would it have been better for Sprint customers (not so much their shareholders) had Dish acquired Sprint? Is the spectrum that Dish has more valuable that the investment SoftBank can put into Sprint? Sorry if this is in the wrong forum.
  3. Have people been able to maintain a steady connection with this router? It keeps disconnecting me from the Internet and is really slow at times. My Apple Time Capsule has a much more stable connection. Also, since I do have 2 routers, should I set up the Asus as an access point? Unfortunately, I cannot place it in a room other than the one the Time Capsule is in but if I put the Time Capsule on one band and the Asus on another, that should minimize interference right? Is it even worth it if the routers are going to be placed right next to each other?
  4. Does the iPhone have a harder time than Androids sticking on or searching for LTE? My iPhone frequently goes to 3G, even in LTE areas. It also stays on 3G for quite some time. I have had to resolve this issue by toggling on/off cellular data. It's the only way I can get back to LTE. But then sometimes it goes right back to 3G.
  5. For sure the stretch between Beckley and Charleston didn't have any service from Sprint or roaming partners. But specifically driving through Charleston from the SE to the NW, I was roaming the entire time and on 1x.
  6. Drove through the whole very boring state of Kansas on I-70W yesterday and was pleasantly surprised that I had LTE almost throughout the whole state. I didn't keep close track but I believe I lost LTE from Hays westward all the way until I got to Denver. For a state with so many fields of grass, who would have thought LTE would have reached cross country?
  7. I was in Roanoke at the mall this past Friday and didn't see a lick of LTE. I am a Sprint customer so don't know if that's the reason why I didn't see LTE
  8. I drove through all of Charleston on I-64 W yesterday a couple days ago and I was on Extended the whole time. Pretty disappointing. I don't know if that's because my phone held on to Verizon's signal better or what… I did install a carrier crack that according to the developer "basically increase the amount of Tx (transmit/uplink/upload) power on the device to its maximum allowed limits". On a separate note, I was wondering if anyone knew if LTE was coming to Blacksburg soon. I just graduated from Tech so it doesn't matter for me too much now but I am curious… after all, nTelos is the Hokie football team's official carrier.
  9. Do you guys thinks that there will come a time in the near future where Sprint no longer allows Everything Data plan customers to purchase subsidized phones and keep the same plan? I have heard that with Verizon unlimited data customers, they were no longer allowed to purchase subsidized phones to continue their plans.
  10. I am on iOS 8.1.2. This past winter, I jail broke the phone and installed the Sprint carrier hack from iTweak iOS. I am considering updating to 8.3. Do I need to install iFile and uninstall the carrier hack before updating? I'm scared that updating to 8.3 without removing the hack may mess it up.
  11. I don't think they will let you keep both the airave and the router. They told me I had to pick one or the other when I called in yesterday. It's always worth a try though.
  12. I have an iPhone. Can I still send/receive texts in an area with strong signal strength from Sprint's network to a non-iPhone while I am using Wifi calling? (The reason for using Wifi calling in the first place is so that my minutes don't get used.)
  13. Is it possible to have wifi calling after updating to iOS 8.3, jail breaking it (once it's available) and using a carrier hack (specifically the one from itweakios that came out for Sprint a few months ago)? In other words, is wifi calling specific to the carrier number?
  14. How far along are tower upgrades in Richmond? I was in the Church Hill neighborhood and MCV campus and had LTE drop multiple times to 3G and had multiples times when "No service" appeared on my phone. While some parts of downtown had speeds I was satisfied with, I was disappointed I was getting DL/UL speeds of less that 5 Mbps for the majority of the locations I was in, especially since Richmond has Spark and I have a tri-band device. Is this what we are to expect from Sprint's Spark coverage?
  15. According to Sprint's CFO on 12/2, he stated that the iPhone 6 would have the capability to wifi call within the next 60-90 days. The 90 day mark is approaching. Can we expect this statement to be false and miscalculated by Sprint's executive team? It wouldn't be the first time they let customers down with their launch dates.
  16. Do some of these "new" sites include upgrading current GMO's?
