Well if an in store sales and online promises you something and you never get it feels like there out just for you money. If they don't know just say we do not know. Being the NV project is behind the ceo lost 100 of thousands of shares. So maybe that will speed things up.
There are some things CEO's and planners cannot control and that is what their competitors do. When you have ATT, Verizon, T-mobile, and local carriers doing LTE upgrades or overlays at the same time, you're going to get a lack of trained individuals to do your own upgrades. Tower crews are a very specialized work force and they are in high demand by the Big 4 all of whom are competing fiercely to roll out LTE.
Then there's the fact that sometimes your backhaul providers are related to your competitors (cough att / verizon land lines cough) that intentionally stretch out the time frame of delivering back haul to a cell site.
There's a lot of work to be done and not enough people to do it. Plain and simple.

The biggest problem with T-mobile is not the speed of their LTE deployment (which should be faster than Sprint in metro areas as they don't have to wait on backhaul) but is the fact that their LTE will only overlay their HSPA+ footprint. The majority of their network outside metro areas are still Edge / 2g. The difference for a T-mobile LTE subscriber will be immense dropping from LTE to edge whereas Sprint at least has 3g on the rurals and LTE coming soon.

It was Hspa+ and sprint is guilty of it too with WiMAX. But if I remember correctly the term 4g is supposed to mean like a minimum of 75mbps so ya
Wimax is by definition 4g along with the first iterations of LTE. As we all know, wimax never took off and LTE took off and was further developed while wimax got abandoned.

Does anyone know if Modesto is in the upper valley market or the lower?I havent heard anything yet.Thank you
Upper Central Valley. It's literally right at the border with the lower central valley market (which is slated to begin in the summer). UCV is confirmed to begin in the spring and full builds should begin any day now.

T-Mobile is going to modernize their whole network much like Sprint is. They just don't have to move as fast. Not many people in rural areas ever had them to start with.
Only their urban areas where they have HSPA+. Rural areas have no plans as far as I know.

Which maps? All the maps ive seem haven't shown Tucson /10 Yuma could you link me please? Thanks!!!
Sponsor only maps.

I actually think T-mobile might surpass everyone. Ive seen friends get LTE like speeds on Tmobile so assuming they can roll out LTE effectively, rather than drop to HSPA 3g you would bounce between EDGE/GPRS and LTE once you leave the metro area of a major city.
ftfy.

I find that odd knowing that they invested a lot into 1900mhz for them planning to being getting the new iPhone.
T-mobile doesnot have the spectrum to deploy LTE on the PCS band and LTE concurrently nationwide. Meanwhile they have at most markets at least 10 mhz of aws and 20mhz in many others.
aws is 1700/2100

That's the boomer with sprint and others on it alright.
Upper Central Valley market is serviced by Samsung as the market OEM for network vision. A full build is basically replacing all legacy equipment and replacing it with new gear and backhaul (aka connection to the internet). The other type of NV upgrade is a GMO which is basically a site where they do the minimum work because it is low priority or high cost for minimal gain as described here http://s4gru.com/index.php?/blog/1/entry-340-sprint-deploys-special-ground-mount-option-network-vision-sites-in-some-low-capacity-and-high-engineering-locations/ but I don't believe yours is.
Anyways, take some good pictures!

1)Is it directly across from a house?
2) Is it situated on the side of the road where it's nothing but fields in all directions.
If so. You may have found one of the first Samsung full builds in the upper central valley market.
That is unless Verizon and ATT is doing something in the area... T-mobile is a non factor as they have no plans on upgrading rural sites.
Pics of the panel & the ground equipment would be best though.

Is it on a Boomer? Aka giant metal frame many many feet tall (over 30').

Where exactly is the tower at? The area between Clements Road and N. Tully is quite large...
I'll attach a google maps image with the area you pointed out (closer to Lockeford) and multiple circles...
There is exactly ONE Sprint tower in the area on a boomer...
Details!
Side Note to Ascertion -- Nextel decommissioning hit the region pretty hard last fall / winter. A lot of Nextel panels and other equipment have been removed long ago.
P.S. Take some photos of it if you can. Multiple photos of the Panels itself and make sure you have the connecting wires on the bottom visible and any RRU (box like thing near the panel) in view.

Reminds me when we had the old S4GRU facebook page. Literally 9/10 comments after every post were ranting or complaining about this or that from people who feel entitled they should have everything at that second.

Been on i80 towards the bay area by any chance? Ala past Davis?
If so, you probably picked up some from the bay area market. If not then it may or may not be a glitch. Be on the lookout on your surrounding towers. Samsung will be or has been working on our market.

I believe you'll need pico cells / das systems in train tunnels and it's a very expensive proposition in such old setups like those you find in east coast.

To best honest, it doesn't look that bad from these pics.

Its late April - early May release. iDen shutdown literally is a month or two away along with the fact that Clearwire TDD-LTE is a given (they already have hundreds TDD-LTE sites up and running).
I'd say the possibility of this having 800 + 2600 is fairly high given there was emphasis on supporting "all LTE bands"...

FDD-LTE and TDD-LTE are supported...
-
End of April launch. Most likely a simultaneous worldwide + US release considering it the event was at NYC>

It's thinner (7.7mm vs 8.6mm) and only slightly taller (by a few mm) while the bezel has been cut to incorporate the bigger screen.
Also interesting pixel arrangement they got...

T-Mobile LTE & Network Discussion
in General Topics
Posted
T-mobile uses a mix of 5x5 and 10x10 depending on location and availability of spectrum (AJ can answer this for you).
Sprint is using 5x5 for both LTE 1900 and LTE 800 with probably 20 for Clearwire's TDD-LTE.
T-mobile uses two vendors iirc. Ericsson and Nokia Siemens. Their ericsson panels are called AIR and it's basically an all in one solution. The NSN panels do have RRU's and I've been seeing them be called TMU's. Looks to be 1 TMU per panel installation in the permit records that I've been looking through.
