  1. My heart jumped when I saw this. I didn't think any work was gonna start before July! How long does it take for a current production rate estimate?

The production rate estimate vary depending on how much sites are accepted every time an acceptance reports comes in. It's in no way related to how fast contractors are working. It just means how many sites are ready and is inspected and accepted.  I'd say we'll see NV sites accepted every few days now in increasing numbers.

  2. :) does that mean you can go to roseville and get LTE? where is it?

It means one can find LTE signal potentially anywhere from Modesto all the way north to the oregon border or from Dixon east to Sparks Nevada. This 4G acceptance site means that the Sacramento MSC (switch) is ready to go and that new Network Vision sites can be connected to it pronto.

Anyways, this is the first cell site formally accepted for 4G and it's located around Theiles Manor near the Union Pacific Roseville Railyard. It's going to be a small area due to the high density population around Sacramento so it'll be configured for capacity and not range. I'd estimate probably a mile or two in radius. 3G is not accepted and  probably won't be until the rest of the area have enough upgrades to cluster launch.

By the way, this site HAS NOT BEEN MAPPED.IT IS NOT ON SENSORLY SO HAVE YOUR SENSORLY APP RUNNING AND MAPPING.

  3. Ah someone who frequents citrus heights! IF someone  have time, it'd be extremely helpful they read this link http://www.citrusheights.net/home/index.asp?page=1092

and head over to the City Clerks Office and do a public records request on telecommunication / cell tower / antenna building permit records. Citrus heights is one of the cities that don't post permits online.

  4. Awesome, that's what I thought they were. This one is on the border of Antelope and North Highlands. On Blackfoot right off of Watt. I was laughing at my girlfriend because she never once saw 4g on her Evo Shift here and now that I found this cell site with wimax, she switched to the LTE.

Unfortunately nothing's been applied for that site that I can find. Fortunately that site is located in unincorporated county so permits are no big deal compared to CoS. I keep a permit / progress map in the sponsors area if you wish to track the progress of cell sites in the market.

  5. Hey guys, just found this site and all the info is awesome. I started looking out for cell sites and realized that this one is right by where I live. I'm pretty sure there's some sprint up there because my signal was in the low 50 dBm. I was wondering if someone with more knowledge could point out what parts are sprint.

Top is legacy sprint while the bottom is clearwire wimax antennas. What's the location of this site btw? We have maps of exact locations of all Sprint cell sites and I can easily check up on it.

  6. They have only accepted financing for a very limited number of months. I believe only 3 times. According to my research Sprint needs all strategic partners to go against the Clearwire recommendation and that may not happen. Sprint can easily lose Intel or one of those cable companies support and not have enough stake in the company. Business is about making money and that is all Intel and the Cable Companies want.

Cable companies... supporting Dish... a satellite company... I see no problems in this at all.

Sponsorship information is in this link. You'll like what we have in the backend. Trust me.

edit : Psst.. it's Premier Sponsor not Prestige... we don't do a lot of killing around these parts to level up... :P

  8. It's hard to tell if the new coverage showing up on Sensorly is a new tower or just more samples coming in from the two which are definitely lit up. I have to admit I love this kind of data, I wish I could spend some time roaming around filling in the map. My lowly iPhone 4S obviously isn't up to the task though. What's the cheapest way to get a Sensorly compatible phone? Looks like there are some LTE options for $200-$250 or so. That's a little more than I'm willing to pay just to be able to run Sensorly. If I could figure out how to do it for sub-$100 that would maybe be worth it to me.

Galaxy Victory 4G LTE can be had for around $120 and is a tough little phone with superb RF characteristics.
