Quarter 4 or Quarter 1. It's something to look forward to for the future but not as important as tearing down the legacy network and replacing everything with modern stuff.
When do you think this will happen? And more to boot. Remember that spotty wimax 4g service we have? That clearwire network will be replaced in the near future with samsung dual mode td-lte / wimax gear. Easy peasy adding a few antennas /RRU and hooking up to the new network vision gear.

Easy peasy adding a few antennas /RRU and hooking up to the new network vision gear.So I live in Elk Grove and drive out to Roseville to test the LTE. All I have to say is "WOW". Now I can't wait for the rest of the area to get LTE.
29 down and 6 up. This was at the arco station at Cirby and Riverside.
As good as LTE is, I'm more excited by the fact that they are replacing everything in the New Vision upgrades. Better voice, 3g data, and LTE along with unlimited data. It's like a dream come true.

So either way, finding permit info will still be hard/impossible?
If it's the one on the park then I've no clue. If it's the one by the apartments then it must be under a different address from the one they have on the county parcel viewer. =\
edit: yep, just checked the apartment complex for permit information and the tower there is leased to ATT. Guess the sprint cell site is the stealth monopole by the fire station on the public park.
-
I thought it was the one by the apartments since that's where the recent network enhacements website from sprint points to. I haven't been down that way too often so I don't know exactly where any other ones are.
It could be the one in the apartment or the one by the fire station but I don't know without better images of the one by the apartments. Not to mention, nothing shows up when I search the apartment parcel...
-
The first on is the one that's out in the middle of nowhere behind the Food Maxx right? I think the other one is in the apartments right after the Little Caesars. Any way to find their address?
Yeah it is. That one looks awesome.
Ya that's the one. The second one I don't think is by the apartments as that one appears to be more like an ATT setup. I saw a giant fat white monopole by the Fire Station next to the park which I think is a stealth site and could be the spot where Sprint be co-located on. Parcel is a park which I cannot search for permit information...

I always look anyways . I look at that one, the one on Walerga between Elverta and Antelope, the one at Roseville Rd and Antelope, and that one on Lichen. I pass by all them almost daily.
Haha yeah. There's 2 additional cell sites in Antelope but whose information and address I cannot find. One is a no address parcel on elverta road right next to Antelope Greens Golf Course and the other is somewhere in the vicinity of Antelope High School (the walerga one). I cannot for my life figure out an address for them and so cannot check if they're in progress permit wise.

cough cough cough cough
Awesome. I always turn to look at it when I leave in the morning to see if there's any work being done on it. I'll keep an eye on it too. There was no work being done on the other Citrus Heights tower last week. Will pass by this week to check again.
No need to yet. It's in the earliest stage of application and not issued yet so work can't begin. Just thought I'd let you know.

Awesome, that's what I thought they were. This one is on the border of Antelope and North Highlands. On Blackfoot right off of Watt. I was laughing at my girlfriend because she never once saw 4g on her Evo Shift here and now that I found this cell site with wimax, she switched to the LTE.

Yeah orangevale. I'll be home tonight and I'll post some. I drove by yesterday there was no boomlift so they should start work any day now
Sounds about right. Practically every Orangevale cell site has had permits issued. Good job on looking up and forward at the same time.
-
It looks like there starting work on the tower off of greenback and hazel. They brought a boom lift here today
Orangevale? Get some pics!
-
Yeah. The towers that are marked unknown does that mean that no info was found or the city said there has been no request?
No available information that I could easily find (aka not online) or nothing applied, yet.
-
How accurate is the ucv network vision progress map? How often is it updated?
I assume you're referencing my map, if so, as accurate can be with the information that can be found online. Updated every other day.

I'm at the Sacramento building permits site, trying to look for a specific tower right next to an intersection. Using Google maps doesn't give me an address so I need pointers! Halp Meh Plox.
zzzz....

Or if it's a specific cell site location than that's sponsor information.
-
Actually just checked up on the handful of permits applied in downtown area. One of them is actually moving along after a month and a half of inactivity and reached the "processing" stage which basically means almost issuance within the next week... still have unpaid fees though...
Possibly LTE at the end of july around 15th street & P / Q / S streets in the near future...
Edit: hmm... several others are also marked as approved ...

So it's possible to not get 4g lte in downtown Sac for months still?
Downtown Sacramento? I wouldn't expect anything till at least august /september time frame at the rate Sprint contractors are applying permits for city of sacramento and somehow forgetting to pay their fees or provide sufficient documents / properly filled out applications.
The area from arden-arcade out towards roseville and orangevale and other areas around the market will probably be flushed out with upgraded cell sites in the next 3 months and possibly have LTE at most places over there. The perks of being part of a much faster & easier permitting / zoning environment (unincorporated areas).
-
So this may have already been asked or covered but does anyone know roughly how long it should take to finish Sacramento?
Completely? At least mid 2014 for all 500+ cell sites.
Get sufficient coverage for most places in the market? End of the year.
-
Yeah I get that. He said another 30 days for testing and configuration
Probably a standard time frame that they go by to get everything correct. Be happy if you get a testing signal but don't fret if you don't. Lots of variables and things that make each cell site unique.
-
The new antennas and rrus are on
Probably cabinet work and the wiring stuff that is not on the tower. As I said before, on average, Samsung crews take 30-45 days to bring up a working signal and acceptance. Doesn't mean they can't get it done faster or take longer..
-
I just spoke to the tower workers off of litchen and bramstone and they said lte will take another month to activate because of testing and configuration.
Sounds about right. 30-45 days after work begin is the average for when a cell site is formally done. Doesn't mean they can't start testing signals earlier than that...
-
I'm off tomorrow so can hit up some of the streets but never used that sensorly map before.
Pretty sure the Iphone 5 or any IOS devices can't map on sensorly....
-
This is what I picked up on Sensorly today
Sent from my Sprint Galaxy S4 using Tapatalk 2
Great work. Now we just gotta get some people to fill in the gaps on those streets. Let's beat up those t-mobile LTE sensorly folks who just roam on the highway mapping with some mapping of the actual streets.

I'm a little surprised Roseville is first, but this is really cool. Now if only they'd get the one that services the Galleria mall cuz reception in there sucks and the free wifi is worse than 3G. I wonder why there were no towers on the mall itself. Too expensive perhaps? I know the last general manager there would have gotten things done quick if a deal could be struck. This current GM doesn't strike me as particularly competent.
Yep. Sponsor only.
Work is beginning all over that region. Possibly that area had backhaul available first so contractors began to work there.
The roseville galleria mall I believe has a DAS system or repeaters inside. It is literally a giant concrete and steel block which isn't that conducive to exterior wireless signals...
-
Does that mean lte is activated or not yet?
As I said before, 90% of the time, 4g acceptance = live signal.
-
2 additional Upper Central Valley market 4G LTE acceptances. One a little northeast of the existing LTE accepted site on vernan & 6th around the exit of interstate 80 near douglas and harding in Roseville. One over at carson city nevada. Map map map!
