  1. Again, how is it forcing anyone? All you have to do is cludge on button, although it should have been opt in.

There's a reasonable debate about it possibly being a danger to net neutrality (although less than sprinttv or go90) but nobody is forced into anything. I'm getting a little tired of seeing the same misinformation. Can we try and not keep repeating bubbles and move onto something worth discussing.

    Totally agree.

  2. I had read the title as they were developing an embedded solution that would the default cross-carrier SMS replacement, similar to how iMessage is the default messenger/SMS replacement on iOS devices and also allows for cross-platform.

Google had it with Hangouts, just needed to bake it into their OS and get the carriers behind it.

    Easier said than done.

  3. Once you have a Sprint number, just sign up for Google voice, and select Sprint integration. You can elect to receive SMS via the GV/Hangouts app, or regular messaging. Voice mail is handled by Google, but you can check it online and its writes them out for you (decent accuracy most of the time). Using the Hangout dialer, you can make a call using your data connection, whether it be WiFi, LTE or EVDO.

I think WiMax allowed voice and data since the WiMax radio was seperate from the CDMA radio (one of the reasons for big battery drain on 4G). If all else fails, you could looking into getting a hotspot with a small data bucket to use while you are on the phone.

Last I tried, caller ID showed unknown plus hotspot didn't work when a call would come in. Just my use case.

Well I switched over to T-Mobile. Honestly I feel as though my experience is way smoother with them. Porting over and getting the account was quick and painless. I was in and out in 30 mins. I love VoLTE. Calling another T-Mobile user it was super clear. So far I have no complains at all but will keep my eye out.

I did play the system very well with their buy one get one 50%. I used my sprint 6s plus as a trade in and it paid in full the second 6s plus I got for 50% off. So I walked out a happy camper with a free extra phone that I can do whatever with.

  5. At a certain point we'll be asking for too much, or what will be enough?

Price is comparable, network is pretty much there, and it's proven that giving away the farm only creates a welfare base that will jump the second the freebies are taken away.

So what do you do now to attract users away from the Big 3?

  6. Well I went to my local tmo store and I think I may give them a try. The plus is my current iPhone 6s will pay in full the second device I get that will be 50% off so that's cool. But I did ask him about the bingeOn and he told me that it for network management.

Their staff is very friendly and greeted me at the door with a handshake and introduced himself. It was a way different experience than when I go into a sprint store. But I did have to shut his shit down. He said our speeds are faster than sprint and I did a speed test. He pulled 40 up and I pulled 63 up. He asked if your faster why switch and I told him I just want to switch it up and trying something new for a change...no harm in doing so.

He started talking about the WiMAX fiasco and I told him sprints back was against the wall with that due to being a use it or lose it situation. But the guy told me he will wave my activation fees and also give me a additional $30 credit. So imma bite the bullet next week. He did also tell me that if I'm not satisfied with the network I can call into cs and tell them and they will unlocked my phone so I can take it anywhere I want but I'll still be on the hook for the $30 monthly payment. Now that's dope. So in my eyes I'm getting a free second phone and no risk of being trapped if I don't like them.

  7. At some point, you can demolish the entire company down to nothing this way, or nickel and dime people until they jump ship. Having call centers, warehouses, and towers is part of doing business, and so is having stores. Just because you do not like stores and have an uncanny ability to know in advance which device will be right for you before you hold it in your hand and try it out, does not mean that most or even many people agree with you, and does not make them problems.

Great post. Valid points all around.

  8. No, I am not confused. For efficiency in this regard, you have to take into account costs. People who require brick and mortar presence or human assistance instead of online self service add to the overall costs for everyone -- unless those costs are broken out in separately itemized fees paid by those who incur them.

You are 17. You have all the time in the world. I return to my assessment -- you are impatient.

They already trash BingeOn in their commercials by claiming they don't slow down. Doesn't mention that it'll charge you roughly $15-30 per HD movie (ie: overages.)As someone that's been in a declining market (Jacksonville), I can definitely say Sprint is behind the curve. Honestly, I just made the switch to T-Mobile and it is amazing how much coverage they get or of their B4. Sprints B26 either is outdone by B4 or similar in terms of coverage.

Interesting. How is BingeOn affecting you?

  10. You missed the point, I have come to loathe this industry. It is why Legere's rhetoric once appealed to me. It is also why I am losing respect for Legere. It's the same behavior under a different shtick. He runs T-Mobile, in reality, like someone who came out of the Bell System. Makes sense since he came out of it like most other CEO's in this business.

And I don't think this site is a monolith regarding Claure. He still has to do better in 2016 than 2015. Sprint depends on it.

  11. 1. I'm well aware of what you were trying to do. However, I feel like every other one of your posts in this thread is, in short, "My experience is great." We get it.

    2. Your second snide remark was unnecessary and demonstrates your lack of maturity despite your age.

However I think it's in everyone's best interest that this doesn't continue as it isn't productive at all.

    Yea, let us not continue.

  12. He isn't wrong, but if T-Mobile is already experiencing better reliability on VoLTE, then he should have included that statistic. I don't know about T-Mobile's VoLTE reliability, but I know that I have had no dropped calls on VoLTE on Verizon and only one blocked call. That's on a network without eSRVCC fallback.

VoLTE is working flawlessly for me.
