"Soon" in T-Mobile terms is different than "Soon" in Sprint terms. 😎

Just read a few of the comments on my local new station's FB post about the merger. 🤢🤮 Hope they can turn people's perception around.
On the Merger or specifically on T-Mobile or Sprint?

The reason I checked this morning was that it was still on the old value yesterday. 6163 yesterday, 20243 today.

Wow. They aren't wasting any time. So will I now be able to access Band 71 on my iPhone?

That's a T-Mobile TAC.

Thanks!
Wow. This is the first I've ever checked this. Did it switch over to a T-Mobile TAC when they began roaming agreements or more recently, as in it going live this morning?

Awesome! Just looked and I'm on 47359 in Dayton OH, under the Cincinnati market.
On your screenshot I see 58889 for your TAC. Am I mistaken?

QuoteEffective at the beginning of today’s trading session, T-Mobile will trade on the NASDAQ on a combined basis under the ticker symbol “TMUS.” The Sprint shares will no longer trade on the New York Stock Exchange.
It's dead, Jim.

Google says to get into Field Test:
https://osxdaily.com/2018/05/02/use-field-test-mode-iphone-x-ios/
It might be under Serving Cell Info rather than Serving Cell Measurements but I can't seem to find a picture indicating what is in Serving Cell Info to know for sure.
- Trip
Thank you. I went to Serving Cell Info -> dl_freq and it's going back and forth between 41490 and 41492.
Does that mean anything?

First thing I did when I woke up just now was to look at my phone. Still connected to Band 41, but my TAC is now 20243, matching T-Mobile.
- Trip
Is there a way to see this on an iPhone?

When I think more about this merger now that we're approaching April 1, I think back to these old Sprint advertisements and how things have turned out since.
These are first rate ads, and they certainly rival anything that the other three carriers put out there. However, this merger was bound to happen when these advertisements were better than the actual network. The icing on top was great, but the cake was falling apart underneath.

Sort of like many golf courses: fancy designer built course gets lots of publicity but soon goes bankrupt. Next owner buys at a heavily discounted price. Thinks first owners were just bad managers but fails. Third owner get golf course at huge discount and makes money.
Well said. 👍

Not impressed with anything relating to SoftBank. Looks like the amazing Son has struck again.
According to the linked article in that quote (https://www.lightreading.com/asia/softbank-preps-%2441b-asset-sale-amid-covid-19-panic/d/d-id/758381) SoftBank is prepping a $41B asset sale....
And here's how that turned out: https://finance.yahoo.com/news/softbank-drops-10-oneweb-files-012729027.html
Quote(Bloomberg) -- SoftBank Group Corp. fell as much as 10% after a satellite operator it invested in filed for bankruptcy, ceding some gains from an unprecedented plan to sell assets and buy back shares.
......
It is the latest blow to SoftBank founder Masayoshi Son, who last week unveiled a plan to raise $41 billion to buy back shares and slash debt. The announcement sent the shares soaring more than 50% in just a few days. The rally was interrupted when Moody’s Corp. cut its debt rating by two notches, saying the Japanese investment firm’s plan to sell off assets during a market downturn threatened its total value. SoftBank’s shares traded 6.7% lower on Monday morning in Tokyo.
Crazy stuff...

Citing unnamed sources, the FT reported Friday that OneWeb – which has so far raised a whopping $3.4 billion from investors including SoftBank, Virgin Group, Qualcomm and Bharti Enterprises – had attempted to secure as much as $2 billion more from struggling SoftBank, but the financial upheaval caused by the spread of the new coronavirus recently brought an end to those talks. The publication reported that most of OneWeb's 500 employees will likely be out of a job by next week, and that satellite production in the company's manufacturing facility in Florida will cease as a result.
So that's news....
