Anyone else having problems with the My Sprint app on Android? It throws up errors everywhere in the app. Updated it and still errors.

Our Sunday project found some (AT&T) band 2 pop up in our neck of the woods. Didn't even have it tuned yet.

 

This is from a GMO running bands 4/12 and now 2; must have been testing since H was here last week. Once I get signal set I will see if I can get bands 4/2 or 12/2 to aggregate, I have only seen 4/4 here, they have two blocks.

 

This was also the first Sprint band 25 GMO in our area so hopefully it can be modernized somewhat from the ground as well with wider channels.

Does the MB need to be line of sight to the tower? I'm getting the MB when it arrives and going to the cabin. Our phones switch from LTE to 3G when at the cabin.

I probably need to wait for my wife's s7 to get the update for that..... not too many people I know use sprint around here, lol.

I got my hands on a iphone 4 and he didn't like the small screen.

Would that one work on Sprint? Shows GSM bands.

Every function of the phone works fine if you convert a G950U1 to a G950U SPR (Sprint) version... The only thing that needs to be done is to uninstall the Sprint Voice Mail application following the directions I posted. 

So the 955U1 on Sprint will not get this update with Calling Plus? You have to flash the phone to the Sprint firmware?

Yep I've taken that drive. I don't really remember losing much signal. Roam onto uscc for min or so. Sprint needs a buyer. Their lack of LTE coverage can't continue.

I think the trip to Duluth was a better experience then this trip. Around Knapp Wis I didn't have service. I did see it jump onto AT&T B17 for a little while going up the hills. That was interesting.

Took a trip from the Twin Cities to Wisconsin Dells last week on Interstate 94. I was half impressed with the coverage. I saw 3G appear a lot more times then it should. Few times I didn't even have service. You can't really stream music on this trip. Being a main Interstate I would think that you would have had a better experience.

I have a brand new unlocked S8+ phone that I bought but haven't activated it yet. Still deciding if I want to use it or keep using my Note 5.

I'm on B41 most of the time in my metro area. But reading several comments in this forum that it doesn't hold onto B41 a lot.

Is mobile data a priority? Anything under a 5 won't have LTE. And then it's B25 only. 5c (maybe SE?) had B26.

Why a 3 or 4? We got my mom a used iPhone 6s because of the larger screen. Didn't to the plus though, too big for her to want to carry around.

So my elder father is looking to upgrade from his flip phone to a iPhone. He was, suggested from family to get an iPhone 3 or 4. Mind you he barely knows how to use a computer. I'm willing to buy a used iPhone but I'm a Android person so know nothing about iPhones.

Can you activate any older iPhone on Sprint or suggestions on what to look for in a iPhone that can be activated on Sprint?

Ok, if you are going to activate this on sprints network then you need to buy the sprint specific model.  The reason being, is that even though all s8 hardware are the same, sprints system won't accept the imei number from the unlocked model.  All non sprint imei's are automatically blacklisted so no way it can be activated.  

 

Edit: you can always unlock the sprint model if need be, its not very hard.

Wow that's news to me. So you can't activate a 955U1 on Sprint as they blacklist it?

The hardware is the same on all s8 models, if you intend on activating it on sprints network at some point then do yourself a favor and get the sprint specific model.

Why is that? Experience you had before?

I'm looking at a new phone that has that model number and want to make sure it's the unlocked version and has all the same bands as the Sprint model.

Outside of the hardcore, who is going to spend that much on a smartphone?

I heard rumors that the new iphone will be over $1000 and bet there will be lines outside the store waiting when it's released. 

No I'm saying Sprint firmware makes CA only work with Sprint. If you use one of the other carriers it will not use CA for them.
