  1. Here for work in the Austin area. Drove twice back and forth from Austin and Houston. Wow...had LTE the whole trip. Really impressive. Great coverage here as well.

Only issue is the tower I keep connecting to near the hotel in Austin. I've had to cycle airplane mode a few times as phone, text & data stopped working. Even had someone msg me on the computer said they called 3 times but yet my phone wouldn't ring. Or I will answer the phone and it's dead silence on calls.

  2. Ok so not sure if this is the correct market but said LA.

I flew into LA last night through LAX airport. It doesn't seem to be any better compared to last time I went through LAX 2 years back. Wow data is horrible at the airport unless I'm connect to wifi. I was outside the airport in the shuttle van and was either on B25 or 3G. I couldn't get data to work at all. Shuttle van was on Verizon data using tablet and no problem what so ever.

Does Sprint plan on adding small cells to LAX or do anything? It was a very bad experience.

  3. The latest update to my Note 8 has this feature. I have it turned on.
How does this work? Like today I was on a phone call and tried accessing my email but wouldn't work. Said something like no data connection.
In the Calling Plus setting I also see WiFi calling and LTE calling(beta). Do those need to be enabled as well?

The B41 PCI is the MB, their PCIs are around 500. So whatever B25 macro you connect to with your phone is the same one that the MB is using.

Thanks for that information. Just makes it confusing as once I leave the house all I get is B25 which is the nearest macro site.

Tap the relay icon, and it'll show the frequency it's using, the band, and the PCI. Use SCP or market maps to match up the PCI to sites in your area. The MB unfortunately doesn't show the GCI, so this is the only way to figure it out.

MB Shows B25 and ID 269. SCP is showing B25 PCI:269 and other times B41 PCI: 497

  6. I've had my MB at the house for month now. It would never connect to the tower. After many tries I gave up and just let it sit in the corner plugged in. Just yesterday I came home and have a very strong B41 signal. It's from the MB. It connected.
What's weird is the nearest tower is only B25. Two other towers in the next town has B41 which is almost 7 or 8 miles away.
How can I check to see which tower it's locked on?

Just got this! Woohoo! About time since it looked as if the GS8 was getting all the love.

Also noticed an updated design for the signal bars, they now have individual bars instead of a solid one.

Wonder why the signal bars are changing. Is that for all Android devices not just Sprint?

    What's in this update?

Now I'm at work today and Tapatalk app is giving me this again....which is what I was seeing last night at home. Except my home WiFi wasn't letting me into the website on my laptop either. This work connection on my desktop is wired, but my phone on wireless does not work. Flip off WiFi so I'm on Sprint and it works again. How frustrating!!!!  hope any of this helps with the ticket to Tapatalk.

I got that error too a few days back. Uninstalled Tapatalk and reinstalled with no change. I couldn't even access s4gru website. But once I connected to wifi it worked. Opened a ticket with Sprint and it seems they were blocking this site. I still can't access other site's too unless I'm on wifi

  9. Sprint uses battery backup cabinets the majority of the time. They're rated for a few hours. The other carriers likely had a fuel based backup generator which lasts longer.

Why doesn't Sprint invest in generators at their site's? Seems other carriers have generators which can be online for hours.

  10. I just came back from Vegas after spending a week there for work. Few things did improve. I was staying at the Mandalay Bay and almost 90% I was on Wifi there automatically. Phone automatically connected me to Wifi called 'CDOBM connected via Mobilitie Wi-Fi'

Several areas on the strip are still horrible for data.
