  1. Ah, I see. I don't know that much about smartphones and their usage yet. I'm pretty tech savvy you might say, I understand the chipsets and CPUs and such from a technical side but lack entirely real world experience in the area. Brb, I'll show you my old phone... you'll understand.
  2. Not officially but that is what she called it to my father and now he explicitly believes it, even though he has a Hero without the charge (and still manages a gig a month.)
  3. I see, I have the Evo Design 4G which is rather new for a WiMax device so I assume it has some of the best antennas available. Also, all the extra stuff to make it a "world phone."
  4. The $10 fee they tack on has been well used. I mention this because my father, who painfully interrogates the phone support people, said it was a fee for the additional dat used by apps. I know it is officially the premium data charge but I think it's neat how their methods of selling it to the customer have evolve. 4G data charge -> Premium data charge -> Application data charge.
  5. That's true. However in my apartment complex, at the furthest point from our router 4G is sometimes more reliable. It's a G router with about 12 competing routers. I guess it's just awesome having so many options for connectivity.
  6. Clearly the best avatar is a shark in space shooting a laser at a squid, also in space. WindSquid

  7. Forgive me, I'm still a bit excited about getting my new phone. I came home expecting to never see 4G and just flipped on the antenna just for kicks and BAM, 4G was found. If I'm anywhere near a wall I get signal and the speed increase is definitely worth it especially since the 3G towers here get really bogged down during prime time. Picture time.
  8. "single page" and the unselected sorting links are basically invisible to me. Also, enjoying the site. Thanks for suggesting it earlier today Robert.
  9. I was just thinking about this. My family, four phones, is on the 1500 minute everything shared plan, We use, on average 100 minutes a month. Really the only way to use minutes is to call landlines which is rare. Has anyone else had their minute usage plummet? On a side note, as this has happened, our text and data usage has probably increased ten fold. Does anyone know what is harder on the network, calls or data? Clearly it is all relative but I was wondering about the conversion of it especially with VOIP getting so much bigger.
  10. I could see Sprint continuing to offer unlimited as well as tiered plans. I can also see them going to a speed limited plan if LTE is successful. Needless to say, as long as they aren't beating ATT or VZW, they will have to continue with unlimited.
  11. Yeah, I'm that guy, but my continuing support for Spring is from their support of net neutrality. We get a good price but it's not that much better than anyone else.
