  1. If a post is trolling let me know which one and why.
  2. What part is trolling? (1) is how framily works (2) was uttered publicly by marcelo or an exec. The last part is analysis of (2) which I don't think is far off.
  3. Is it possible to create the baseband for the phone so that it can choose between two lte networks? Not pulling data simultaneously from two just choosing the lte network at the beginning of the data session.
  4. Verizon owned 55% of vzw;It has a landline business to milk from which to pay off the loan; Vzw is profitable itself. Now compare to tmus.
  5. Ahem see my reply above regarding softbanks justification for even buying sprint ie they thought they'd be able to buy tmus so they'd have the same lack of competition as in THEIR homeland http://mobile.reuters.com/article/idUSL3N0N83E020140423?irpc=932 "You could say the mobile market is an oligopoly of the three big companies," Communications Minister Yoshitaka Shindo said at a regular news conference this month. His ministry is preparing long-term proposals to bring lower prices and faster services, including fostering growth of mobile virtual network operators (MVNOs), cut-rate providers that lease network access from the big carriers. The sniping will not help Son's plans to acquire T-Mobile US Inc.
  6. Puh-leeeaaasse. Do you think softbank really bought sprint without believing 100% that they'd be allowed to buy tmus? NO! According to reports, softbank was shocked over Feds' resistance to consolidation in the initial meetings in jan/feb 2014. Their desparation became evident by the degree of BS in their "if you let us buy tmus we'll compete with cable and fios" No one wants to compete in a 4 player market. Not DT. Not softbank.
  7. Whoop dee do. What has DTs ownership done for tmus? Maybe a bit: global roaming, getting the iPhone. But going forward? Is DT pumping in money to tmus? No. They're just holding shares waiting for a republican to get elected. People freak out for tmus' future at the thought of DT selling but someone tell me: what does tmus gain from DT holding 67% of shares?
  8. They announced they're gonna have 300mil lte end if this year. But it's still possible they won't cover wv. I wonder if they'll even properly build out Omaha; look at their rootmetrics report.
  9. 1) I think that reason is bs. What's complicated about "per line price goes down for each additional person you add"2) the real reason - which they mention - is that people were swapping ids online. Only execs making $hundreds of $k's would be so stoopid as to not figure out this scheme in less than 10 secs
  10. Vzw has mutiple phones volte enabled. How does softbank help sprint with the CDMA scale issue? Sprint: "qualcomm don't you dare raise rates for CDMA" Q: "why shouldn't we?" S: "cause softbank owns 80% of us and we have a lot of used phones now" Q: "is softbank gonna put CDMA on their phones too?" S: "no" Q: "are you gonna stop using CDMA any sooner" S: "probably not" Q: "so why shouldn't we raise CDMA royalties?" S: silence.
  11. Haven't many sprint subs here complained that despite being a sprint customer for years they're still paying some $5/month penalty for having a low credit score?
  12. Vzw and att have announced plans for interop volte. The best reason is that 3g spectrum can be refarmed for lte. For now sprints 1xA. 800 is fine but once vzw is not ordering CDMA phones anymore…
  13. Increasing number of phones support it. TMO's volte is nationwide. Decreasing wcdma usage to make room for lte refarm. Simultaneous voice and data on lte = better user experience. Interoperable hd voice.
  14. This could be what forces all smartphones to be multi band like the nexus and iPhone. Could also be what forces sprint to kick into gear with b26 deployments for volte.
  15. Something like that I could see having a chance at keeping costs under control. Google could throttle to 1mbps and it'd still be acceptable. Like go smart.
