I wonder if Sprint is going to provide 4G WiMAX to its Assurance Wireless customers.
-
This looks like another iDEN to CDMA Strategy as iDEN is WiMAX and CDMA is LTE.

The ones at the top looks similar to the upgraded att towers with the four panels on each side.

Those are Nextel Antennas on the top.
-
Looks like att already has their lte panels up and running on that tower.

AT&T does not use that tower. I know that only FiberTower, Sprint, T-Mobile, Clearwire, and Nextel uses that tower.

I wish Sprint still supported it! My Ocean is just sitting in a drawer doing nothing.

You can always try selling it and use the money for a better phone. I found it selling for $55 on Amazon.

If you haven't checked if your computers, smartphones, tablets, etc. is infected with the DNS Changer Bot, you may be doomed to use the Internet this summer.

Is there anyone out there still using or have a Pager?

I was told that Clearwire is working on making its LTE backward compatible with WiMAX by doing a firmware update, so it can work simultaneously with each other.

Are there any known wireless outages?

So does many smaller carriers. I don't see China Mobile getting too much trouble buying into Clearwire.
Their goal is to promote TDD LTE which Clearwire is planning to use, and Clearwire really needs the funding.
-
The fed's don't see it that way. Thus Sprint was(for the most part) forced to decline Huawei and ZTE's Network Vision bids.
It might work out for Clearwire as they use Chinese Vendors to supply most of their equipment.

There was a time when United States didn't like Germany during World War II, and now they are accepted to have a business in the United States. It is possible that China can change in the future.
-
If German telecommunications company Deutsche Telekom can serve T-Mobile in the United States, I believe China Mobile can make it happen in the United States also.
-
Looks like China Mobile is seeking for a stake in the United States. Can it be Clearwire?

Some might support GSM/EDGE/W-CDMA/HSPA roaming. As for LTE roaming, only if the country adopts LTE on 1900 PCS-G will that happen. Otherwise, I don't see too many international LTE devices for a while.
That is probably why Sprint is interested in using Clearwire Future LTE Network possibly for International Roaming with countries such as China.
-
Do you think it will be available on the future LTE Devices with all the other frequencies it uses?
-
That wouldn't be possible except in the southeastern U.S. The FCC rebanding of the ESMR forbids any cellular phone usage below 817 MHz except in the southeastern U.S. where it is allowed down to 812.5 MHz due to SouthernLINC's existence. Public Safety was relocated to the lower part of this band and significant restrictions were put in place to eliminate potential interference. This is why Sprint had to agree to reduce the EIRP allowed as their frequency drops lower in the ESMR band. They also had to agree to a 1MHz guard at the bottom (816-817 MHz) of the "new" ESMR band with NO transmissions at all.
Is SouthernLINC going to to follow the same path as Sprint for decommissioning its iDEN Network?
-
Sprint is rolling out several new 4G LTE Devices very soon. Will any in the future support International Roaming?

I found a helpful 4G Information Guide on the Sprint Website that you all should check out.

To clarify, Sprint is deploying one 1xAdvanced carrier for voice and 1x data this year on 800 within Network Vision deployments. This carrier will not be active the day the site goes live. However, after enough room is cleared from the iDEN thinning and reorganization, the 800 1xA carriers will go live. Maybe as soon as this Fall in some areas. Existing 800 CDMA capable handsets will be able to use this right away. However, this will not occur in all markets because of rebanding, etc.
Sprint will be deploying 800 LTE carriers later in 2013. They will not be in place of the 800 1xA carrier, but spectrally right beside it. The 5x5 800 FD-LTE carriers will not be be deployed at every site nationwide. Because Sprint does not have 14MHz of 800 nationwide. Some more details about that will be in our 800 article.

How will existing Nextel iDEN Customers be migrated onto Sprint CDMA Network if they are in a non Sprint Coverage Area? I remember you mentioning that Network Vision is going to be deployed only on existing Sprint CDMA towers and not on the Nextel iDEN only towers.

What about Leap Wireless? Don't forget that Leap Wireless entered an LTE Agreement with Clearwire to provide additional LTE Capacity to its Cricket Communications customers.
