WiMAX is soon going to be a niche technology also.
-
We should make this topic PINNED.

For example, if Sprint gets more government agreements, they can spend more to add towers for improved coverage for the customers and government officials that needs the best service possible.
Check out the government agreement with the City of Houston for example.

I disagree, why not save the cost of another site visit and construction crew when they could hook it all up in a single swoop? I think Clear simply didn't have the money to do it right now.

Clearwire may do Network Vision in areas where they don't already have coverage, but it is not official that they are expanding to new areas.

Its more of a spacing issue than anything.

Clearwire is also taking their time to test TD-LTE.
-
Only 40% of Clearwire sites are colocated with Sprint.

That is probably why they didn't want to go the Network Vision Route.

Why don't LightSquared purchase voting shares in Clearwire? They have some money left.

What about Houston?

I remember two weeks ago Crest Financial reported that they bought a stake in Clearwire.

If they have managed to not interfere with WiFi so far, I think thay might be able to avoid it in the future.
I doubt it will work simultaneously since AWS Spectrum might cause interference even if there was no Wi-Fi Interference in its way.
-
That may also cause interference with Wi-Fi Signals.
-
I don't think that is possible. Sprint uses FDD Technology while Clearwire uses TDD Technology.

You got 5.35M down and 1.32M up with 0% LTE Signal? How fast on WiMAX?

I also got my EVO LTE overnight.

Are you getting the 16 or 32 GB Samsung Galaxy S III?

You got me. I would assume it would, but you would have to have a lot of stuff on that balloon... Batteries or generator, fuel tank, sattellite receiver, cell panels etc. And most of the people on the ground will have dead batteries on their phones within days...
We need solar chargers.

Cell on wheels is a lot more doable. I think this would be a waste of money for the FCC to invest in this tech.
What is the FCC thinking? Will signal even reach the ground?
-
Is this possible? The FCC is thinking about launching floating cell towers.

How will Sprint LTE be compared to T-Mobile LTE? Who do you think will be better? T-Mobile has announced that they are making progress to test LTE this summer with the full deployment starting in late 2012 and early 2013 with Ericsson and Nokia Siemens Networks.
