It's like having an airave but a wee bit stronger. Those poor people probably don't even have sprint.

Guys I need help. My galaxy s5 got condensation and its turning on but screen stays black. Occasional flash of random dots on screen. Buttons all work as far as I can tell. Is there something I can get to hook it up to an external display?

That's sucks. How'd you get condensation in there?

Being waterproof is just nice peace of mind. Having an s5 it's come in handy exactly once. But at the same time I'm never afraid to use or bring my phone in any kind of trip or activity. I can't tell you how many Facebook status messages I've read that state people who have accidentally dropped their phone in water. It should start being an industry standard like gorilla glass.

Phone has to be completely dead.

Still sounds amazing. Not too bad of a tradeoff. Easy for us pros to completely drain the battery if need be. Speedtests!

Is anybody else amazed at the quick charge? I had no idea this type of charging existed, or will. How does this not degrade the battery quicker... I need an adult...or a battery expert.

Interesting. I have team viewer on my mom's computer. Never thought about using it on a phone. Hmmm. Now to get my family to set it up without me being physically there.

Any issues in nyc right now? My sister told me she has full bars but when she tries to make a call she gets a "no signal" message. I told her to restart and test texting and Internet. She can get all that and receives calls but cannot place calls on an upgraded lte site in Washington Heights.

Without rooting you can still grab it from your phone and side load it. I use an app called "app backup & restore" by infolife. It's on the play store. They basically can backup the apk and you can send it to another device. Obviously doesn't work with paid apps.

Yep the GCI's are reported correctly. If you set up the Custom Band option in LTE Discovery to identify sites with the first three digits of the GCI (area code) that have "043" and a TAC of 17282 as B41 then the app will identify all B41 sites in your area that meet that criteria as B41. I posted about this not too long ago in the GS5 thread.

 

The app will even go back and fix all the old log entries that have been incorrectly labeled as Band 25 sites.

 

Note: You will have to continually add to the Custom Band list the app maintains as you travel around but it is a temporary solution until the GS5 receives an update that allows us to fix whatever the PLMN ID issues may be.

Sweet! Thanks for the refresher. I always meant to change the custom band but didnt quite get it until now. Wow I get alot more b41 around sf than I thought. Anyway to color code the log to make it easier to identify bands quickly. B41 isn't too bad. But trying to see b26 when scrolling quickly can be easily missed cause it looks too much like b25. Also maybe different colored icons for different bands in the status bar. Thanks again!

Since it's a s5 and b41 is not reported on 3rd party apps is the gci reported correctly? Where do I find gci in debug menu?

It works for me on the M8 as long as I am using the default Messages app.

Of course it's not connecting to b41 now. And I didn't get a screen shot this morning. Might be still testing. Let's see what tomorrow brings.

Funny, the antenna they zoom in on at the beginning is Sprint. Bet that site was offline for a while.

Just got faint band 41 in my bedroom for the first time. In the outer sunset. So the western edge of sf. Exciting. But weird cause my b25 speeds were faster. Only part of my place I get b41. Even my deck doesn't get b41 (which is on the other side of my place)

Or for $40 more you can buy an AQUOS outright. And sell the s5 for parts.

If you could somehow accept google play credit I have some giftcards that I can transfer over to you guys. I know someone who set up a app placeholder just to accept credit payments.

Alot of Android users also answer those google surveys for credits. So I must not be the only one who has unused google play credits that can be donated.

I didn't feel a thing when I was in upper Manhattan for that earthquake. This one in sf was scary. It was like being a bus and train passed right under my apt for 20 seconds.
