Mine doesn't disconnect on standby. My router is a Netgear with DD-WRT installed.
Awesome, did you check by pinging it via CMD on your PC? I just want to make sure your test was accurate May I get the model number? I might replace mines, this issue also happens with my iPad third gen, iPod 4Gen Idk why but I am starting to think its my router..........
-
I noticed that mine only does this with certain networks.
That's what I also heard, that on certain Wireless networks the iPhone 4S turns Wi-Fi but I tried changing the wireless channel, protection and some other advance settings but to no avail I have a Asus RT n56U, if you have an iPhone and yours remains on Wi-Fi over 3G what router are you using? This would help me a lot and thanks for your reply and support
Oh noes! If you didn't get that iMessage from your BFF right away about "Apple pwned, SMH, LOL," that would be just terrible.
AJ
It's not that I really need my iMessage to come through the second they are sent but my mails come through late and sometimes they are time sensitive and I end up getting it a hour later unless I unlock my iPhone before.
-
Use wifi at home.
Sent from my C64 w/Epyx FastLoad cartridge
Yea but the DUMB iPhone 4S turns off Wi-Fi and reverts back to 3G while I am on standby thus I can't receive push notification and iMessage don't come through, They all come in after I open my iPhone and its connected to Wi-Fi....

My Sprint speed at home.......on top of an airave....
I need a free Airwavee my 3G is worthless............... But I don't want to pay for one, do you think Sprint will give me one for free if I hassle them? Waiting for Network Vision is hard. I just want smooth speeds at home!! Ps I only need it to receive Notification.

Found this and it also has a video
Enjoy

Hey Robert,
I have another question and once again I am sorry if it has been answered but I feel better if I get the answer straight from the man! So my question is will Sprint turn off all there IDEN towers? Or will they be converting some and using them for there new Network Vision? Thank you very much and I appropriated your time.
-
Talking about iOS 6, beta 5 should release Monday or Tuesday, can't wait to get my hands on it! If rumors are true that the iPhone 5 releases September 21 than this my be the GM version or maybe not.

^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
I agree. Sprint doesn't need to change its deployment plans. They just need to get on schedule and stay on schedule. Their schedule is aggressive but doable. And then they need to well communicate that schedule to everyone.
Robert
Hey Robert is Sprint replacing all its backhaul on all towers? Or are they just adding new towers? Sorry if this has been answered before.

The website still hasn't updated -_- OMG I want to see the video!! lol........
-
Anyone found the video on Fox's site/Youtube?
Nope, the site takes for ever to update, I see news still from the 17, no updates since than.
Also I was reading the article that Robert posted and I found this part a bit funny,
"Asked whether greater LTE network efficiencies might yield lower monthly bills for customers, Chu and other officials laughed. "It means bills might not go up as much," he said."
Also is sprint planning to increase the price? he said "bills might not go up as much" -_-

Wonder is Baltimore is launching tomorrow??
I mean they are doing a tour of one of there 4G LTE towers so who knows. That's awesome that Sprint is doing this and I really want to find out what they are going to say about it.
-
So Sprint just tweeted this
"In #Baltimore? Watch @FOXBaltimore tomorrow 6-10 a.m. to see @sprint live tour of cell site & learn about our all-new network. #Sprint4GLTE"
This might be good, I am not in the Baltimore area so if anyone can tune in and possibly record it or something it would be awesome.

The highest I even got was 2.1Mbps, that was back in June 2011. This is right before the EVO 3D release and just after the beginning of the network slowdown in NYC.
So the Sprints network wasn't always slow? What happened to it that it got so slow because from June from last year to now its pretty hard to believe that the network wen't from 2.1Mbps to roughly 0.10Mbps in some areas. What happened that it fell so quickly?

I came across this information, seems like apple is dominating. But I honestly don't see iPhones everywhere I see more androids.. So yea...
-
On Sunday morning I was at the Dunkin Donuts on Queens Blvd, and got 1.99mbps down, was shocked and almost dropped my phone!
The day I go from 0.14Mpbs to 1.00Mbps and above, I WILL drop my phone lol

1. The best dBm varies from device to device, however, I have never seen anything greater than -65dBm on an iPhone. (This is partly because I don't get around to too many towers, and I live in weaker signal areas.)
2. The iPhone won't tell you if you have eHRPD on your local towers due to the fact that the iPhone 4/4S lacks LTE.
3. 3G is EV-DO.
4. 1x shows what tower you are connected to as well as what frequency you are connected to as well. 1xEV-DO shows the frequency that you are connected to as well. They both show other things such as the tower identifiers like base station id. I don't have my friends iPhone in front of me right now to check the rest.
Thank you very much, you sir was of great help. I now understand things better.
-
So I have a few questions about Field test.
1) what is the best dBm.
2) My Field Test show 1x and 1xEV-DO so this means I don't have eHRPD on my tower? If that even means that. I am a newbie at this so bare with my lack of understanding.
3) What does 3G fall under? 1x, 1xEV-DO or none?
4) If possible which one of these is the fastest and how fast they run? Did I miss one?
Thank you for answering my questions, I don't expect them all to be answered, but it will help me better understand them.

That tower is crazy!
Here is what our towers look like in Phoenix, or some rendition of a palm tree.
Wait are you serious about that? WOW lol that is too funny! I wonder what they look like in NYC I believe I never seen one.
-
I used to get speeds like yours but on wednesday when I came back from Europe after a 5 week vacation, I noticed faster speeds right away. Sprint must've just done some capacity upgrades and data speed upgrades in my tower because after 3 days, I am still getting the same consistent speeds.
That is awesome news, I just can't wait to see speeds like yours. I will be so happy with my Sprint service!
-
Still getting good speeds in Jamaica, Queens. I just did the following speedtest:
Date: 8/10/12
Time: 6:58pm
Ping: 78ms
Download: 1.50mbps
Upload: 0.40 mnps
I am in the Bronx and these are my speeds, Were you always getting speeds like the ones you are getting now? Or were getting similar results as mines?
-
You're not alone.
Yes, Indeed WOOT!
-
Keep in mind that a lot has changed since this article was written in May. LTE-800 was approved. SDC runs on 1x, etc.
Yup, that sounds about right, but also I hope that Sprint has done some improvements to the MVNOs for NV, Sprint customers should get priority on the Network, unless that's already implemented in the current Legacy network which I doubt.
-
According to this article Sprint's very confident that NV will change everything for them, I am so excited!! Give me my NV!
-
Seems to me that everyone is having an amazing time with Sprint but me I can't wait to compare results with NV. But for now this is what I am dealing with.
Non network vision 3g speeds. (speedtest)
in Network, Network Vision/LTE Deployment

Thanks for all the help
I agree with you 100% but once Network vision is on, I should receive all my notification via 3G, but I want this wireless issue fixed.
