  1. It's weird because when my phone is on standby its on 4g. When I remove it from the docking station it goes back to 3g. Sometimes it back to 4G I run a speed test and get 5mbps down and it hangs on the upload.

Sent from my SPH-L710 using Tapatalk 2

Well that's maybe because your phone uses more power to connect to 4G when it's plugged but designed to use less power when disconnected to save battery, That's why when you go on a call it uses more battery to maintain the call. That's why you get more bars while on a call vs not in a call.

  2. Weird encounter last night my signal kept spazzing out, lol it went from low to full and kept doing that back and forward for 2 hours, at first I thought it was my phone so I turned it off, problem still persisted so I guess they working on my tower again. Today I was traveling the Bronx and Sprint speeds are now decent at least IMO I was loading images and website rather quickly.

  3. Keyword MONTHS , I wish it was weeks lml , but I guess i'll just have to wait , I wonder if its gonna be like this when 5G comes out Lol jumping a couple years into the future.

LOL I know man we all want it fast, but it will. Well whenever the next wireless technology comes it will be implemented much quicker and faster than LTE for Sprint. Sprint is redoing all there towers getting new back haul and new tech. Basically its a BRAND new network. So once the new tech is announce all Sprint has to do is upgrade their network rather then replace it all like what they are doing now.

  4. On all of their newer Android phones, their is a notification that doesn't go away that can't be removed. It tells you when there is WiFi near by, even if you turn the radio off. Its quite annoying.

Oh right I believe I have heard of this type tech idea. It is meant so that people always connect to Wi-Fi when available so this is on all new Verizon Android phones only?

  5. Remember to offload. Whenever you are at home or work you should be on WiFi. It's people that constantly stream over LTE and 3G that slow down the network in the first place.

I hope that's the case over here. I had such a strong signal at home that I didn't even need to use wifi. Streaming HD was awesome.

I would wish Sprint would start advertising this, safe network practice should come with every new Sprint cellphone. Some would argue that's what they are paying for, while true you don't want a slow network.

  6. i am very surprised that only two towers are up in queens and it covers approximately 5 mile radius from the tower according to sensorly. although the 1 bar zone is very weak signal, which is close to no reception, but still i am shocked i am being connected to 4g 5 miles away.

Actually I am impressed too, 5 Miles is pretty amazing, At least in my opinion.

  7. I am sure sprint will catch up. 2013 is their year to turn it over and if not, it will be a big disappointment. If it wasnt for this site, I would've dropped sprint and went to tmobile. I hope I made the right decision.

Everyone who choose to stay with Sprint did the best decision in their life, Sprint is changing, Sprint is starting new, what more can anyone want? Sprint is using new technology to delivery the best service possible, I am not just saying that I believe that! New towers, and technology packed into every 1 tower spread over 30,000 towers they have. Now that's truly amazing. Sprint :tu:

  8. By end of February, what are you thoughts about how much LTE will be up in NYC. That's about a month and a half.

I honestly believe that depending on how well Sprint does in the NYC Market it will determine how well Network Vision changes their customers mind. If Sprint fails to deliver well I would expect the downfall of Sprint. By the end of february I expect LTE in more places, how ever I know NYC won't be half complete. By June I expect NYC nearing completion. I just want Sprint to claim #1 spot in fastest and most stable network, they once were king right?

  9. In NYC it is probably the major cable companies in many places. My understanding is that Optimum's network is fiber to the towers outside but they run a coaxial cable into your modem. I think the only places in Optimum service areas that aren't fiber are "last mike" folks that live on the edge of their service area.

I remember when optimum was very slow :/ only 15 down and 2 up, now they have more tier plans and their speeds are very good. Actually they are excellent. I hope more work is being done to further increase speeds and lower latency Would be awesome to see Optimum fiber or something better start rolling out, not that its needed but the faster the better when it comes to internet speeds. Demand is only going to increase etc. Back on topic, I would assume optimum is the primary supplier of internet for sprint in the New York area and not Verizon. I mean Optimum light path is for businesses.
