  1. Tower I'm interested in is by John Gray and 127

I thought that tower was live some time ago? I picked up lte right near that tower often. Where else could it have been? Also on rt 4 near Boymel for a year it clicked on to lte for me. It has only been the last several weeks I have gotten any love on the other side of Fairfield.

  2. I parked under the factory drive tower this morning and maxed out with lte signal around -79 and rxx in the 50's. Is it possible that I was picking up lte from Bridgewater or Hamilton? I am hoping that is the case. I have gotten lte in the factory drive tower area in the past that was most likely from Hamilton but it wasn't nearly the strength as today. My speed maxed out at 9.5 down while under the tower too. Lte is certainly picking up around here and I am excited, I just really hope that the Factory drive tower is not on because yesterday I had lte around my house and at water works park but when I walked inside I dropped to 3g. I really hope I am not still on the stupid bubble with lte the way I have always been for voice. But I am waiting iit out till the end of this year to see what devices that brings as i believe I am less than half a mile from a clear tower so in the long run may not even need the 1900 lte any way.

  3. I'd say definitely, especially if you are connecting to a tower 29 miles away. I connected to one off of 471, here in the Mainstrasse area last night, first time ever.

Yeah I was connected to a tower off 129 and 75 area, I was over past tricounty mall.

  4. Not sure how much better, I do know that it being a lower frequency it travels much farther than 1900. I would suspect it would be better, but I really havent had the chance to try it out.

Sorry by better I was referring to the distance and signal strength.

  5. Ok how much "better" is 800 voice? I get terrible reception on my home tower almost all the time. Today I was on the other side of town and looked at signal check and see I was on 800 with a strong connection. Looked on the lte discovery map only to see it showing a tower 29 miles away! Is 800 reall that much better? If so how to I force 800 first and 1900 only when no 800 is found? Also on my drive down rt4 while streaming Pandora I kicked over to lte from 3G but on my way back no such luck. I have read that it will drop down during an active data connection but not back up. Is that only the tri band phones or all phones? This is not the first time it has done this. And then the majority of the time I have to toggle airplane mode to get the lte to lock on.

  6. In reality, you have 2-3 months before service gets better in Cincy from what it is today. When that does happen, you're going to have unlimited data on a service that will easily give you 60 MB/s connections with a very low ping, and a voice service that will penetrate through most buildings and basements. It's something absolutely worth waiting or coming back for, but knowing what I know about the Cincy market, it's going to be a rough 2 months for ya.

What about the surrounding areas? I am in Fairfield, same time frame or is it a separate grouping when the fire up the clusters?

  7. Is there a section for looking into outages? I was on the phone this morning with customer care and he referred to a tower outage but not which tower. I have not noticed any connection to the factory drive tower today. That's my closet tower and is in progress on the map. Any chance it is out to be worked on/ fired up?

  8. Sprint said about a month ago that the first CA devices were expected toward the end of 2014.

Fantastic news! As much as I would like to get the S5 to replace my S3 I think I will wait till the Note 4 to see what that brings. Worst case scenario is the Note isn't what I hoped for and the S5 is next to free by then.

  9. It's further back in this thread I imagine, but I have reported in the past that the Factory Dr tower is upgraded. It's marked according to it's current status on the maps in the sponsors section.

If you're interested in being able to tell for yourself, see this thread.

What map would I want to look at to see the status on this tower?  I just checked the sites complete map and it was listed as in progress.

  10. With the talks of markets going live with lte 800 and band 41 through the rest of this year, is any one aware of any devices capable of the aggregation on lte bands?  It looks like the current tri band phones can connect to the individual bands but are not yet capable of being connected to the bands simultaneously.  The only thing I have found so far is the ATT galaxy s5 will be capable with their bands.

  11. This is the tower at factory dr. Any know what they're looking at? I still cant tell the difference on these things. And for some reason while I was under this tower I was connected to the rt 4 in Hamilton tower on 1x800 and had a very weak lte signal lte discovery had it as 12.5 miles away.

  12. First off, welcome to S4GRU! I'll try to answer a few of your questions, but most I cannot answer until you become a paid Sponsor, as the information you are seeking is only available to Sponsors and Premier Sponsors. Sponsors get access to the list of Sprint towers, which is one of the things you are looking for.

To become a Sponsor, a donation to the forum in just about any amount (recommend $5-20) will get you upgraded. Premier Sponsors are those who have donated over $100 to the forum, and they get access to so much more, including info on Band 41 ("Spark") and 26 (LTE 800) rollouts.

I also highly recommend getting Signal Check Pro for $1.99. SCP will give you the address of the tower you are connected to for voice services (not LTE). The developer of the app is a highly-decorated member around here.

Another advantage of becoming a Sponsor is getting custom PRLs that will allow you to have high-priority access to 1X800, which there is plenty of coming from the Hamilton area.

Spark has been seen in the Cincy area, and there are a few posts about it in this thread. It is not accessible to the general public with a Spark phone without putting your phone in LTE-Only mode at this point as it has not been rolled out. The range is similar to WiMax, and several members have mapped it using Sensorly in your market.

Thank you for the welcome and the answers you were able to provide. It is very encouraging that so much activity is going on in the market. I have been looking for a reason to stay with Sprint. I am glad I have found this site. After 2 consecutive mind numbing experiences with Sprint customer service things weren't looking good. I will certainly look into the sponsorship options. Is there any additional information on devices as a sponsor? I am eligible in the near future but I am curious if I am just as well off waiting till the note 4 release.

  13. Yes this area is in desperate need of something.  I agree I think that the 1x800 will take care of the voice issues I am having.  On antennasearch.com the tower on patterson is a verizon tower so I doubt they will let a full NV build take place.  Although that would be the best case scenario for me as that tower is .3mi from my house.  So are there any markets that are getting partial Spark?  Am I wrong to assume we will get spark based on the band 41 that is already in the area.  I would guess that all that is left is to kick on the LTE 800 when the time is right or are the towers with 800 live already pushing LTE also?

  14. Yes that is the Joyce park tower.  I just went in and posted my info.  I have an Slll.  I have picked up 1x800 a couple times from hamilton but nothing consistent.  I usually bounce between the tower on near tori's station one where rt 4 splits off to erie blvd. and even one on 128 in ross.  I am eligible for an upgrade 4.1.14 but I am seriously considering waiting it out to see what the summer brings network and device wise.  You say you don't think it will get much better?  I had read somewhere that cincy has phase 2 scheduled, What does phase 2 entail?  Will that bring any improvements?  I previously had the Nexus S and while it was as bad or worse for voice it did get usable wimax coverage in this area.  Also I notice on the LTE discovery map that it always list the tower as a voice tower.  Is it possible to be connected to different towers at the same time one for LTE and another for voice?

  15. Hey everyone, first post for me.  Ok so I have been getting the worst possible voice service for the last several weeks, that's what brought me to the site at first.  I have been going through many of the topics trying to get myself up to speed.  I am in the Fairfield area on the border to Hamilton.  So as seen on many post here I picked up LTE discovery, sensorly, signal check...  I have been tracking my coverage and signal strength for a couple weeks and I consistently connect to the same 3 towers from home.  I must be literally in the worst edge of signal ever.  My phone will change towers if I rotated it 180 laying on the arm of my couch and it gets nearly unusable signal from all three towers.  I give that background because last week for a 30 second period while doing my morning signal check at my sons bus stop (my best coverage area by far)  I picked up a signal on the LTE discovery map of a tower that is very very close to me.  However it switched over almost immediately after the map loaded.  It switched to the a tower in Hamilton that says is 7mi or so away.  I was excited for a moment hoping that maybe they are adding a tower that will be close enough to provide usable signal in my home.  Well I drove over and there is in fact a tower where that signal was coming from.  I took a pic and tried to compare the samsung pics from the sticky but I just don't know what I am looking for.  Any way to look up what carrier a tower is for?  On the antenna search site the tower is listed as owned by American towers llc.  Also listed an owner change jan of '13.  The tower is located at 185 Forest Lake ln.  Fairfield, Ohio 45014.  Can any one confirm what carrier this tower is for?    https://www.dropbox.com/s/dlhgq80z9wooqyf/2014-03-25%2007.58.19.jpg
