  1. In the end I will just be happy to have it period but I really wish it was here. My s3 is driving me batty. For weeks now there has been a short or loose solder in the power button. Countless times a day it will just shut off. The constant powering off then on has drained the battery from 100 to dead in less than 2 hours a few times.

  2. So T Mobile has started shipping the Note 4 pre order sales... Even upgraded shipping and delivery is Monday for a lot of people. What are the chances Best Buy sends out notification early for pick up?

  3. Looking to upgrade to the Note 4 coming from a Galaxy S3. I want to keep the S3 and try to trade in my old HTC Evo 4G Wimax. Sprint won't take it because the buyback has to be $10 and the Evo is only $5 on the Sprint site. Does Best Buy have a similar requirement or will they take the Wimax? If not I'll just try with one of the Walmart cheapo phones mentioned above.

I was told by the Samsung rep @ Best Buy that if it is on the BB trade in site even for no value that it counts. I bought a prepaid phone as a back up just in case. A guy I work with offered me an old Blackberry but I didn't want to be in a pinch on pick up day. The Samsung rep pointed out the prepaid phone being on sale for $20 so I will just return it if they take the Blackberry. Their site does leave them a lot of room to decline just about anything if they wanted to.

  4. If anyone needs a phone to trade in on the samsung promotion here is what I did. I bought the Kyocera kona from walmart.

    http://www.walmart.com/ip/Virgin-Mobile-Sanyo-Paylo-Kyocera-Kona-Prepaid-Cell-Phone/36774653

If you go on the sprint buyback site you see it is listed. I paid 20.00 to walmart. I went to a corporate Sprint store got a 20.00 credit to my account, and I will get a 180.00 check from Samsung.

I picked up a ZTE Net 10 phone from Best Buy yesterday for $20 just in case my s3 doesn't make it. Can anyone confirm how to know if a "smartphone" qualifies on the best buy promo?

  5. Yeah I would really doubt that he's on band 25, anything above 30mbps is a different sign of good things coming :tu:

He is using an S5 is there a way to set the band priority and or see the signal for each band?  I pre-ordered my Note 4 Friday but have to wait till 10/17...  I don't think I can hold out much longer with this S3 and its whacky failing power button.

  6. I wanna think that they are still working on B41 I like to think we are one of the markets that needs the extra backup

I have no doubt we need the extra back up.  I just hope they finish the build out before sending the resources elsewhere.  What is the Max speed 1900 is capable of currently?  My son has gotten a few 50+ speed tests and I am curious what band they were on.  The device is listing band 25 but I am not sure that is even possible.

  7. I didn't see any issues with the demo units at 2 BB stores here. I guess we should look at it as a heads up. I wonder what the stock level looks like for the pre-orders. I guess if there is a problem with my device I will just not complete the transaction unless they have a satisfactory unit on hand.

  8. Ok, the Samsung rep thought as long as it shows up on the BB trade in program even for no value that it counts.  He wasn't sure though because he doesn't work for BB.  He did however point out a $20 prepaid device they sell at BB if I can't come up with anything else.

  9. I ordered my Note 4 Friday from Best Buy, can't wait!!!  Then after I made my pre-order I was able to work with a sprint store to trade in an Iphone 4 for the promo value of $202.00!! toward my account.  My question now is what constitutes a "smart phone" for the BB trade in program?  I am worried that my s3 won't pass as it has a rapidly fading power button that randomly shuts the phone off.  I am asking around for back ups and not sure how to confirm if a particular phone will cut it come time to pick up the GN4.

  10. Anyone preordering with best buy to try and get the $200 gift card from them?

I just tried online with no success.  Apparently the pre-order with trade doesn't allow in store pick up on the website.  The online rep I just chatted with specifically stated that the GC is available in store only and not able to be used toward the GN4 purchase.  Any one know otherwise.  I am hoping he just didn't know because he isn't in the stores when these things launch and is just not familiar with the process.

  11. Cat 6, supports B25/26/41. No Carrier Aggregation. No Sprint VoLTE. No CCA/RRPP compatibility. Basically, the timing of the Note series releases makes it bad for Sprint, year after year. It always seems to be the last model of the year that doesn't support the new Sprint network initiatives. There you go.

Any insight on upcoming devices that will take advantage?

  12. The Samsung promotion says any working phone worth $10 or more. Does it matter if it has been rooted or is running a custom ROM? Does Sprint buyback program care?

Also, will the Sprint Note 4 support wireless charging? Now that I've used it, wireless charging is a must have for me.

It has wireless charging compatible on the specs. Too bad Samsung doesn't just start shipping phones with the wireless charging compatible back already on them. I was hoping to combine the wireless charging with waterproof and never have to deal with the flap but oh well. I have been plugging my smart phone in for the last 8 years guess a couple more won't hurt. Does wireless charging take much longer than normal?

  13. How does Sprint handle a trade in credit with easy pay? Do the allow it? Do they lower the monthly payment or cut down on the number of payments? I have a Note 2 plus the EVO wimax so I'm hoping for a total of $200 with Samsung picking up part of it. Then I can sell the Nexus 5 too for more toward a phone. I really wish firm Nexus X information was available.

In the past it wasn't tied to a new device. When I first learned of the trade in program I traded in 4 devices and they said then it could even just credit my account. That was 2 years ago though.

  14. Yeah I wonder how the Pre order will go vs. just showing up on release day?  Do they ship the same day or should be received by that day?  I don't want to wait for it but the extra cash on the trade may just be worth it.  Also other than the Monte Blanc pen any word if there will be a Pen style accessory like the note 3 had or if the s pen is the same size if the current one will work?  If so I know what I am using some of the rebate on.  Hopefully the 50% off an accessory promo is still on then too.

  15. I had been planning to keep my s3 as a back up in case anything happened to one of our phones but with a power button going nuts and a $$ incentive it is as good as gone.  Now if we could just speed this launch up a few weeks!

  16. Weird, it explicitly states that it doesn't support VoLTE. I'd assume all the hardware is there for it. Would it require FCC re-certification to enable it at a later date via software?

Really want to hear about how the RF performance looks. If anyone could weight in on it versus the S2 / Epic 4G Touch, I'd be much obliged. My home is currently on the margin of where CDMA doesn't work on my S2 and wonder if this will perform better than that, or has reception improvements only been really happening for LTE?

I don't know anything about the devices you listed however there is a massive difference in the 1X800 for voice. My service was Un usable in my home for a long time. Voice is now not an issue I even think of anymore. My data on the other hand is not so good on my S3. Judging by the way my son's S5 works I would expect the Note 4 to be just as good. I have been holding out for the note since April so I really hope it isn't a disappointment.

  17. Hi, I am new to here (sorry if I say anything stupid...)! I will probably be only posting every so often and not be so much of a regular.

But for starters my phone is the Samsung galaxy S III stock, will probably, soon be upgrading to Sony Xepria Z3 (I know Sprint doesn't offer any Sony phones at the moment but I have read a few articles about it probably coming to Sprint, so I am hoping!) If they don't get that then I might do the Samsung Note 4.

Now according to the "Network Vision/LTE Deployment Running List" Cincinnati has officially launched? Which is good news!

For me myself I like Sprint, my only issue is on my SG3, I am lucky to get 4G LTE inside or outside of my house... I usually pull 2 bars of 3G inside my house. Now with Sprint Spark enabled devices, wouldn't the LTE be much stronger inside/outside my house?

No promises for your situation but my s3 side by side with my son's s5 is just awful. I did a speed test side by side and I pulled 3.5ish my son got a 38! He has run multiple tests in the 40's and even a few in the 50's. All this has been in the Fairfield area.

  18. Has anyone else seen a dramatic improvement in service after upgrading your device? Or had different devices on the same plan that performed remarkably different? And lastly is LTE basically usable or not usable? Does the strength actually affect the performance? I am trying to trouble shoot my own situation any feedback is appreciated.
