  1. How is this going to work exactly? Sprint will push the update to just nexus phones? Would this prevent you from receiving future updates from Google directly since this update will deviate you from stock?
  2. I haven't really seen this addressed anywhere yet. What do you do when/if the battery malfunctions? Would this be something where you have to have insurance and could only get a refurb? I'm sure this is something that people with iPhones and other phones with nonremovable batteries have come across. I picked an HTC One up yesterday (having great battery life with power saver enabled, data on when screen off, at 8 hours off the charger I was at 80% -- with light usage, screen brightness at about 1/4 of max, only pushes Gmail) and I just have major concerns about how battery life will be before my contract runs out. I had to replace the battery on my Evo 4G twice. Other than some occasional frustration with having some difficulty with using the soft buttons and wifi speedtests running slow (4-5Mbs Down, 20+ Up on Fios 75/35), I have been thoroughly impressed.
  3. Robert, Any chance the Richmond area is going to get posted on the Network Vision/LTE Deployment Running List thread? At least I could gauge progress then. Thanks for the help.
  4. So, that's a little disappointing that speeds really are that much lower with the voyager hot spot. I got routinely around 3-9 on my Evo. I did have a question though, as I upgrade my phone here soon, I am contemplating a clear spot until NV 3g/LTE upgrades hit my area. How does the hot spot do with handoffs? My drive to work has me going into and out of service 2-3 times. With my Evo, it's pretty easy to force a rescan and reconnect. Thanks!
  5. I know that Clear is planning to deploy their LTE only in markets where Wimax is already deployed. My question: Will every tower that now has Wimax, get their LTE? Additionally, I have shifts were I work at the VA Medical Hospital in Richmond VA, and we have Wimax full bars throughout the entire building (3G is very very fast as well). I assume they have the building wired for 3g/Wimax, as I even get full Wimax in stairwells in the center of the hospital (brick building). When clear makes the transition, will buildings that are wired get the LTE or will this just die off? I know one can't predict every scenario for each and every building, but in general, what could I expect? I'm holding onto my EVO 4g as long as possible until we get LTE, and if the building doesn't get LTE, all the more reason to hold onto my Evo
  6. I recently moved to Richmond, VA from an area that is a WIMAX protection site. My previous experience with WIMAX (even in WIMAX cities) are speeds of at least 3Mb/s down. There are areas of RVA where I won't be able to break 1Mb/s, and usually hang out around 0.5Mb/s (Two areas I have found thus far). I get ~8Mb/s consistently at the tower around my house, so I don't think there is anything wrong with my phone. I work long hours and haven't gotten time to notice trends in the slower tower areas. What do you think is the cause for this? Could this be to network stress or towers that need maintenance? If stress, then I have good reason to be concerned about congestion with LTE. The towers are in heavily populated parts of the city, but certain areas, e.g. Short Pump, always have fast speeds... If more likely the tower needs maintenance, how can I report it? FYI, been a long time follower of the forum. Appreciate all the hard work that goes into it.
