contacts issue fix: YES.
LTE scanning improvement: A MUST
Google Now: Mehh... OK
JB smoothness: (it is smooth now with ICS), so don't know how much better it will get.
Anyways, any improvements are always welcomed.
(Unless we end up with a new round of problems based on the update)... !!!!!

Who cares? Seriously, some of you put way too much emphasis on Android version updates. If you bought a device with Ice Cream Sandwich and were happy with it, then you have little reason other than envy to not be happy with it now. On the other hand, if you were not happy with Ice Cream Sandwich, then you should not have bought the device or should have returned it.

Don't really care much for JB, just hoping that if it was JB, it will come with fixes for the current issues....
I would even take an MR if it fixes the issues.

.... no JB in sight....

The leak say it was due to higher than exspected sales at black friday that the update was pulled. Sever load for activation would have given new customers a bad tast in their mouth. So they pulled it till the 2nd of December.
The other thing I heard is that they pulled the update because HTC/Sprint wanted to modify stability with Sense UI....
Only time will tell the story I guess....
-
It is speculation that the update got delayed as HTC and sprint wanted to modify some things.....

As the Sargent said I haven't had it happen since the last OTA update to Android 4.0.4 and Sense 4.1. Before that I would get it after playing anything that I stayed on too long. EG: If I just checked S4GRU.com and pressed home nothing would happen but if I stayed for like 15 minutes and checked posts, wrote it would almost always happen. Also it would happen after long play sessions of Dead Trigger. But usually I would only get once every other day. But like I said I haven't had it happen in the new update. What version are you on?
It happened to me a couple of times,,, as you described, I was using multiple application, memory intesive games, etc... when I hit home, it would load for a couple of seconds and then would load up. My quess is that since the phone has 1gig of ram (which could be not enought for certain applications if you are a heavy user and multitask a lot), as you exit the application you are on, or just close it going back to the home screen, the system has to start dumping un-used apps that use up memory in order to load up sense ui. I bet if we had, say 2gigs of ram, it would not happen.

I have been a Sprint Care Rep for a long time. HTC used to have a toggle to turn off the buzz but after the Hero, Sprint had the toggle removed as an option. I have no idea why they did this but I've many calls since then how much the buzz bugs people. Me, included!
One thing you can do is before the call connects, just bring the phone to your ear and then no buzz...!

I would think that there are ways that this could be corrected (if not fully corrected, improved) with some software by tweaking the threshhold levels and the algorithms when it handles transitions between 3G and 4G.... Hopefully it corrects the issue and it works with no issues. At least it would band-aid it until all the network converts to 4G. (hopefully that way it will not find 3G at all)?

The package weighs in at 364.54MB, um that is pretty large. Seems like people might need to wipe some stuff off the phone to install...
...and wifi would definitely help...

To Jelly Bean or not to Jelly Bean.... Hopefully to Jelly Bean soon.

Strange. I just checked for an update and it forced me to connect to wifi. So I did, but nothing...it never did that before.

It is just as I figured, no update for the EVO Lte 4g. Oh well, we will get it eventually, probably right after the Samsung Slll gets Licorice or whatever the next big update is going to be called.
To be honest I really wasnt expecting jellybean for the Evo this quickly anyways. It wouldve been a pleasant suprise, It will be here eventually, just got to be patient and wait it out.
There is works of Android 5.0 (Key Lime Pie).....Licorice is for 2030!!... jajaa.

That is what I have to give Asus credit for . Transparency. I remember when they announced the update to jb then there was a delay due to last minute issue with the code, they informed the users that they were working on a fix...and that the fix should be complete within 24 hours or so. Would be nice to have HTC be like that...

So has anyone gotten the update yet?
no.

I feel sorry for Sprint tech support now... They are probably getting massive calls asking about the update.... (If I were one of the tech support guys, I will get up and say.... I quit this b#%#!!!), and leave...

As the donut turns...
According to peeps on Android Central that have been calling in, there is an update scheduled today - but it will be available in different areas at different times.
Makes sense. Otherwise we will be overloading the servers.....
...also, it was mentioned that when the SIII was scheduled for an update on Oct 15th, updates didn't start rolling out until Oct 16th around 1:20am...
It seems to be eminent that an update is comming....(today, tomorrow, next week...) no reason to loose any sleep over it...

Im still doubtful that this update will appear today. Too many typos and errors in the "announcement" to be true. This is my opinion, please dont attack me. Now if it does happen to be correct, I'll be just as happy as the rest of you.
No need to attack anyone... I'll guess we will all wait and see what happens....

Re: Update coming to HTC evo 4g lte
FROM ANDROIDCENTRAL FORUMS...:
I just got off the phone with sprint. I didn't mention reading anything about an update but I did ask her if she knew if there were any updates coming out for my phone since I've been having a few issues with it. She checked in her system and she confirm everything that's on the picture in this thread. She said we would be getting and update to fix WiFi issues and ringtone issues etc and that we would be upgraded to ice cream sandwich smh lol which I am assuming it was a typo. She said the update would start today until the 27th. Now like I said I didn't mention to her anything about what I read in this forum which leads me to believe we should be getting an update today.??.. Everybody seems anxious about the update.... More confirmation that something is coming today???
Jelly Bean for our HTC EVO 4G LTE??
