  1. You'll also want to find a copy of the HTC Flashlight apk. I did that first and am glad to have it back on my device.

Question - for those of you running the UAG case (just looked it up), how does it compare to the Otterbox Commuter? I'm running that right now, but this UAG one looks intriguing.

For the HTC flashlight apk, I downloaded a copy, but it does not allow me to toggle between the three different intensities?  It only shows the low setting and a message saying to push the button to change intensity, but nothing happens... So I had to download another flashlight app... Did anyone experience this with the HTC apk?

  2. I finally did it.  I got the HTC One.... Coming from the HTC EVO 4G LTE, I must say that I am impressed at how quick and responsive this phone is.....

As for the LTE connectivity, I did notice an improvement over the EVO (not surprised there)... As a matter of fact, when I went to the sprint store, they were side by side, and as expected, the EVO was in 3G and the One had 4G no issues....

  3. So I picked up a One yesterday.  It's cool so far.... different.  I've noticed that 3G drops out a lot more than my Evo ever did.  Not too happy about that.  I may call Sprint to have them check to see if the UUIC / SIM ID is matching since I heard over on XDA that could be a potential issue when having data problems.  Also the 4G performance so far seems more or less the same as my Evo (or maybe a bit worse... signal seems flaky) but again this is less than 24 hours in so we'll see how this fares.  I've got 2 weeks!

Try updating profile and see if anyting changes...  I remember when my wife got her Note 2, she was having some strange behavior in which she was getting multiple repeated text messages.  After a profile update, and a reset, everything was good...

    ....just a thought....

  4. The only thing color has to do is with the absorption and reflection of the visible color spectrum, so no, color has nothing to do with reception.

    -Luis

Yes. Unless you start using paints that have IR blocking characteristics... (and other frequencies outside the visible color spectrum for that matter).....But for cell phone frequencies, it should not matter.

  5. ..hmmmm what to do......,

I also was looking at the black version, and I think I like better than silver.... Any feedback on black vs. silver when it comes to signal performance?  I don't think it should matter much, but just asking....

  6. Finally picked it up last night after work and activated it. So far, I'm loving this thing. It runs circles around my Evo LTE. Not regretting this choice at all!

Have you noticed improved performance with 4G compared to EVO LTE?

I am also thinking of picking one up, but if it does not have any significant improvement in aquiring and holding 4G, then I might wait as my EVO LTE works just fine (except for the navigation issue)....

  7. Hello. I'm searching for a Galaxy Note 2 on Sprint, and I came accross the ebay best buy mobile solusions website.... Has anyone had any experience with this before? The reason I ask is because they have the phone for eligible upgrade line for only $149.99.... way cheap.

According to best buy customer service, they are new phones unless otherwise specified.

    Any thoughts?

  8. hmmm.... not that I'm not excited that the EVO will get sense 5 and android 4.2..... But being in the situation that HTC is in right now, I would not do that right away (which they probably won't) and sell as many HTC Ones as possible.....if people want a taste of Sense 5.

I would probably expect updates for the EVO towards the end of the year??

  9. Finally drove out to see the LTE at Hall rd. and Gratiot, and I wasn't impressed at all. My galaxy had a very hard time finding the signal to begin with, and then once it found it and locked on it didn't want to hold it. The first time it grabbed 4G I went to the google play store to update some apps, but after I clicked update it shocked me by saying no connection. Then it went back to eHRPD. I'm running cyanogenmod but I don't think that should be a big deal. I really hope this was something to do with signal strength where I was. I guess I'll try again when I go to Brighton next month where I hope to find service that'll compare to my friends on AT&T...

I also experienced issues with google play store while trying to download some apps while in 4G for the first time... But it has gone away and now it works OK.

It is hard to say how well 4G is working in our area as we are just starting LTE deployment in Michigan. I also have spotty coverage and sometimes it takes some time for my phone to switch to LTE.... Once NV work progresses, it would be another story.

  10. That's true.

Something else that's interesting, it shows the Sprint model will support 700MHz/AWS. I dunno what their source is. http://www.androidce...dio-frequencies

But all of these questions will be answered once it passes thru the FCC. I'm sure Sprint has already started testing their model... right?

You are right. FCC final approval will dictate operational frequencies... The HTC One as we know it today is in "prototype stage"... HTC is even still tweaking software on the phone optimizing camera performance, etc.... So nothing is final yet.

  11. ..interesting... I believe my EVO LTE will still get notifications (like email etc) while in sleep (hybernating) overnight....

When I wake up the phone in the morning, I can actually see in the battery usage status that the phone wakes up every now and then, and probably wakes up network data connection, downloads and email, etc, then goes back down to sleep...and I can actually see email message pending as soon as I push the power button....

    ??

  12. OK.. I discovered a possible issue with google play store..??? As I'm connected to 4G on my EVO LTE, I can access the play store without issues ..but when I try to download an app, the progress bar gets stuck and nothing happens.... Then, if I loose 4G and go back to 3G, still cannot download app. Even if I turn on wifi, still not working... I have to reset the phone and then and only then it will work...

But again, if I get a 4G signal again, then I have the same issue where I cannot download an app...

    Anybody experienced this???

Weird. I just tried to download an app over 4g and it a seemed to be working....
