  1. Has anyone had an issue with wifi? I still have my Sprint HTC One so I updated it to 4.3. I did a speedtest on my wifi network at home after the update and got about 5-6 mbit down. I did the same test on my T-Mo HTC One and got about 20 mbit down. Same server & everything. I ran the test multiple times and got the same result on both. FWIW the actual speed of my internet at home is around 30mbit when done on a computer.

My issue with WiFi is that it keeps turning on and off. Performed a factory reset, but nothing... Any suggestions?

  2. So I guess my question will be is this "network" issue or "phone" issue???/

It is strange as this happens in only certain areas, so i'm inclined to say it could be network related... ?? /??

  3. Has anyone been experiencing issues with HTC One (particularly in Michigan)?  I've been experiencing loss of 3G data from time to time.  Maybe it has to do with NV work being done here?

It will drop 3G data (voice only) for about 20 to 30 seconds or so, then re-connect again....

  4. Is anybody else's Google Now being temperamental?  Many times when I go to Google Now no cards appear at all.  I'll hit the menu -> refresh and same thing.  Then I'll try it again a few minutes later and it'll display the normal cards (time to work/home, weather, etc.).

Hopefully the update that's supposed to come out today will help with this.  I never had this problem on my Evo and it just started happening on the One over the past couple of weeks.

The only issue I"m having with google now lately is that it would not remind me of a reminder I set based on location.  When I arrive at that location (usually Home), the reminder never comes.....

  5. What is TRIM? Never head of it.

In computing, a TRIM command allows an operating system to inform a solid state drive  (SSD) which blocks of data are no longer considered in use and can be wiped internally.

In other words, it helps combat fragmentation.  And Android 4.3 is the first version release that includes this feature. Finally!. :)

  6. 4.2.2 and 4.3 don't really bring features that the 4.1.3 already have or that I would use so waiting is not really a big deal for me.

True, but I really would like the advantages of 4.3, specially TRIM.

  7. Supposedly HTC is skipping the 4.2.2 update in favor of the 4.3 update.

I'm not too bothered by this TBH, the phone still performs well. No lag, no glitches or weird things. I can be patient :P

Yes.  I also feel that I can wait.  The new update could bring issues...I hope they do some extensive testing before rolling this out.

  8. I got mine a couple of days ago... I LOVE IT!> It is really nice compared to the Acer Iconia A110 that I had before.....

One thing I'm noticing is that I've been having issues with the Play Store.  When I try to download some apps (does not happen with all apps), I get an error code 497... cannot download.....

The other error I get (trying to update my Google Play Books app), is it will download, but when it installs it says package file corrupted...

I guess there might be some issues going on with the playstore?

OK. It appears that it affects multiple users across multiple devices.  Google is looking into it to come up with a fix.

  10. Phone was running really slow, reset connections, reset phone, reset router but everything was running like it was connected at 1x. So i try to update the profile and PRL and got these. 2013-07-29155759_zpsc6e7a007.png2013-07-29155729_zps2cd6604a.png

Called customer service and they had me put in some numbers, it did nothing. Took my girlfriends HTC One and everything updated fine. I hate the repair centers and i don't want to do a hard reset, anybody have any ideas?

Try it again tomorrow. It could be network related. Also, restart your phone, then try again.

  11. Yes, I thought I read it should take 2-4 from their website...hmmm

Yes. You are correct.  2-4 weeks.  Give or take.

It will probably be closer to 4 weeks, but who knows...

  12. I hide my sprint zone app, I can't stand it and it is forced on this phone.

More like 4.3 =] haha I am kind of hoping they skip 4.2.2 and go straight to 4.3. I told myself if HTC lags with the updates with the One I am probably done with them, especially since the Moto X is coming to Sprint =]

On another note, did any of you buy your htc one during the htc 25 promo and received an email with the code? I submitted mine earlier this month(I bought the phone within the promo dates) and I still have not received any email from them regarding status or anything.

Are you talking about the $25 Google Play promo?

If I remember correctly, it could take up to 8 weeks to receive the code.

  13. Has anyone seen this issue as reported on the SprintZone app?  The time-stamps on the notifications due to a supposed charging issue/overheat, if accurate, I was not even charging the phone during some of those times... Could this be a fluke in the SprintZone app, or something else?

  14. Random HTC One thought: Am I the only one that misses the "vibrate on call connect" feature?  It's nowhere in the options.  I was so used to that on my Evo.  And before that my Epic (I think) would make a tone when the call connected.  It would save from dialing a call and holding it to your ear, then after a few seconds looking at the phone and seeing it was still trying to connect or it gave up and was sitting at the dialer.

Also, post-update the earpiece is definitely less bassy and has more treble to it.  It'd be nice if it was user-adjustable, like the S3s and older BBs were.

Funny you say that... I was thinking the same thing the other day... I used to get the vibrate feedback, so I knew when the call connected.... Now, I have to look at the screen to see the call connect.....

  15. I live in Ann Arbor and am a couple hundred yards from the tower on Hogback Rd, the tower is behind the Washtenaw County Veterans Affairs office. The LTE signal was turned on on May 29th. I had a 4G LTE signal for a bout a week and have not picked up a 4G LTE signal from that tower since the morning of June 7th. I have also noticed that since that time, my 3G service when connected to that tower is usually EVDO Rev A, only occassionally can I get an eHRPD 3G signal from that tower. This is in direct contrast to the months leading up to the 4G LTE being briefly turned on where I almost always got am eHRPD signal from this tower. My 3G service, which had increased data speeds to the point I could watch a youtube video on my phone about the half the time is now crawling super slowly to the point the data connection is virtually worthless when I am at home - though it works fine when connected to other towers around town.

I have rebooted my phone multiple times, toggled airplane mode, made sure my PRL, profile, firmware, and HTC software is all up to date. I don't believe it is my phone, (HTC 4G LTE), as I can connect to LTE from other towers in the area. It has been a month since I was last able to get a 4G LTE signal from this tower.

Is it normal for Sprint to turn off LTE at a tower for over a month after they have intially turned it on? I can understand tweaking a tower and how coverage might be spotty for a week or so but LTE on this tower has been shut off for a month now.

I've noticed that also. But I guess we can't complain to Sprint yet since they had not made official announcement about Ann Arbor LTE launch.
  16. The version I am using works fine. I found it on XDA. The shape of the flashlight is different compared to other versions (less Mag-Lite, more contemporary) but works the same way.
