  1. Hi all! Not sure where to post this - so posting here. :) Anyway, anyone here ever have any experience with HughesNet's satellite Internet service? Is it as fast as they claim? We are so tired of Comcast, just looking at potential ways to terminate our Comcast relationship. :)

  2. That is the exact case I got as well. Great minds think alike. I have also noticed the volume button is difficult to get too, but I only silence my phone when in class or a movie or something like that.

The button issue is that the buttons are not responding as well as they should. Basically it's because they don't contact the phones buttons correctly, which provides no "rebound" for the button to push back out. So they are sending out stabilizers, which is a squishy urethane plastic to put over to all better contact between the case's buttons, and the phone buttons. (thats a lot of buttons in one post).

Gotcha. Yeah, definitely not having that issue with mine.

  3. Are you having the button issue? They're sending me button stabilizers to fix the issue. Also, how does the case hold the phone near the middle. I noticed I can push out on the case and it gives a little, but nothing too serious. Just wondering if it's the same on yours. Or did you get the metal one?

    Hi Jamison!

    Here's the exact one I got: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00LL6ZPXY/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

No issues for me. Sorry to hear you've run into some. What exactly is the button issue? Only thing I've noticed is it's a bit hard to access the rocker switch to mute the speaker because the opening is so narrow. As far as the way the case is holding the phone - no issues to report - at least nothing different than other cases I've used (Incipio, Tudia, etc.).

  4. So finally went into my local corporate store and pre-ordered there. Was a very easy process - none of the issues I had at Sprint.com or with Tele-Sales or with Order Support. Can't figure out why. They also expect I should have my 128GB 4.7-inch Slate Grey on the 19th, even though I just actually got my order in today.

Now, the other issue is I have about $500 in preauthorizations outstanding on two of my cards where Sprint Tele-Sales and Order Support kept either retrying the order or instructing me to do so online. Hopefully these go away! Or, I will have a shizz-ton of iPhones to share. :D

  5. I called because I haven't gotten any sort of email and they're telling me my order might not have gone through even though I have an order number. So now I have to go back to the store to verify it went through since care can't see an order that was done by a store for whatever reason. Starting to get a little irritated with this whole pre order thing.

Edit: Go figure right after I write this my phone goes off saying sprint took out money for my phone payment. I hope this is good news.

I had the same thing happen. Been trying to order one since Sunday. Placed a successful order with order number on Sunday. Sprint called me on Monday to say they had to cancel the order because it hadn't linked to my Sprint account number, but to reorder online as the problem should be fixed. I've placed about 10 orders since Monday morning and never received an order number (just the error message, "Oops, our systems aren't working together correctly..."). Even called in and placed an order and it wouldn't go through - and Sprint has no idea why.

Not trying to whine, but geez....

EDIT: And just tried again and still getting the same error....not sure what to do.... :ninja:

  6. This guy is about making moves and wasting no time doing so. I'm liking this guy by the day. I wonder what the meeting with apple was about concerning sprint???

My guess? Claure on his hands and kbees begging for band 41 in new Apple products. Lol....of course, a little late for that and probably already done anyway. So I'm with you...very curious.

  7. I feel like an idiot but this needs to be put out there....finally figured out what my issue was on the M8 this morning. Kept turning on power saver (even after hard reset) which seems to decrease the CPU clock rate, among other things - leading to very laggy performance. <sheepishly walks away>

  8. There are only a few flagships a year. If you are reviewing that many devices, than yes it is likely you're running into the mid and low end devices, which tend to be bugger and less well made.

HTC flagships have been some of the best devices out there. With the exception of the EVO 3D (which wasn't all that bad....) the HTC flagship device each year generally has been the device that sets the bar, even though they generally aren't as popular. Mainly because of marketing.

If you want a device that has issues with lag, get a Samsung.

    :ninja:

Yeah, guess who refuses to test Samsung devices? This guy... ;)

  9. That's almost 2 phones per month. No offense, but I doubt this is likely. They dont even release 20 different phones a year for sale.

    Not just HTC, mate.

  10. Sounds like you have a bad case of OCD if you're going through that many devices per year.  It would seem like you have issues with every single device you own regardless of OEM.

Anyway I asked you a few questions in an attempt to assist you with your problems and you didn't answer any of them, it would save you a lot of time when at the sprint store.

Nope. I test and review phones and networks...so quite normal. ;)

  11. Come on now, if this was the case then everyone(or at least most) would be complaining about the same thing.  As of right now the nexus 5 and the one m8 are by far the two most responsive android devices hands down so its more than likely you are having an isolated issue somewhere.  Maybe its a rogue app wrecking havoc or maybe its hardware but its definitely not an "htc and android" thing.   Also please don't mention an android device from 2010, android has come a very long way since then.

In the mean time, is your current m8 rooted? If it is, can you tell me what rom you are using?  If you are 100% stock then I would suggest hard resetting your device using the ##786#code on your dialer(I think you might need your msl to complete the process) and when the phone comes back up do not restore any data just install everything from scratch.  If that still doesn't work then maybe you just got a faulty device and if thats the case then just take it in to sprint.

Thanks for your input. I have owned many phones over the past several years (literally 20 or more different models per year, on average), and that includes a huge number of HTC models - almost everything they've ever produced. I have had issues with them from the start.

Anyway, we'll see if Sprint gives me a replacement....I do have their ultra-expensive protection plan.

  12. Anyone else starting to have a somewhat horrible experience with their M8? I've got the HK model, though probably doesn't make a difference. Very laggy, jumpy, in all apps and the OS itself. Can't even use the calculator without a major delay between pressing a number and having it appear on the screen. Reminds me of why I hate Android so much. Have hard reset twice - same issue. Is this just HTC and Android remaining a poor combination (I remember these kinds of issues on my og. Evo 4G's) or do you think mine is faulty?

  13. From all indications I have, I should of had B41 in some spots, even ones where B25 wasn't setup (wimax conversion site), but have never gotten a 41 connection.

I've had the same issue. Should have quite a bit of B41 all around me and only connect in one of those spots. Seems like they've turned off the rest of them for now - which seems odd to me.

  14. I've noticed much more 1X 800, as well. Had it in Eastern Hanover yesterday evening, pulling all the way from a tower in Highland Springs. Cannot wait for 800 MHz LTE. Right now, at home in Western Henrico, I am smack in the middle of two 1900 MHz LTE towers and get great coverage outside - drops to 3G inside, so I am hoping 800 MHz fixes this. :)
