  1. I agree. But they could've stated how many additional 2.5 sites they have live. SOMETHING to give us some idea of progress.

Why don't you check out the premier sponsor forums you pay for? The info there gives you a pretty good idea of progress. But it seams you just like to hear yourself talk a lot.

  2. Asus AC68 is the base model. That's a very good router.

Now... how the hell to order it..

Not going well with chat.  Two reps so far, no clue. They think I want a mobile broadband router.  Sending the link is not helping.  I can't call the phone number right now.

Now the rep is trying to push an Airrave on me.  I will just wait and try when I have time to call. Looks like these are getting sent out by the Airrave team.

  3. Only the people who don't actually work hard actually view the releases on the internal websites.

Employees should not be held accountable for bad management. Good management would have had a robust change management plan with multiple internal announcements, training, and us toner service guides. This is basic management 101.

I agree with this.  When I worked in CS for a large company, we at minimum would get info like this in a pre-shift breifing.  There would also usually be computer based training and or an email with detailed info. When you work in a busy call center you rarely have time to do a lot of reading on the intranet.

  4. The disconnect is the repz own fault. All these these press releases or policy changes are post on iconnect which is the home page of any computer on the sprint internal network. The thing to remember is to most of the 40k employees sprint is just a job and nothing more. There are a few of us sprint enthusiasts internally and we are few and far between.

Do you have any info on the Routers or who would qualify for one?

  5. I just got off the phone with CS...they had absolutely no clue what I was talking about. I directed them to the press release, and said she said she had heard absolutely nothing. She almost didn't believe they would be providing wifi routers.

So I guess we will need to wait a little more...maybe I will tweet Marcelo and ask him.

This is not suprising.  Sprint for some reason likes to announce stuff before telling any CS reps about it.

  6. so what does everyone consider the threshold for being an "abusive" data user on an unlimited plan to be?

i myself use around 20 to 30 gig per month and consider that not to be abusive. I would consider anything 60 gig or more per month to be abusive. most of my data usage comes from streaming videos, and i stream a lot. getting to 60+ would take a lot of streaming and/or you are using it in place of home internet.

i did see a few comments in that reddit thread where people on tmobile mentioned having to switch back to their home wifi because of throttling..... that i don't get, if you have home internet/wifi already why would you not be using it???

I am usually 2-2.5gb a month.  I have WiFi at work and home and I don't do a lot of video streaming, mostly just sports highlights.  My guess is I am the more typical type of user.  I would have to see the breakdown of all users though to really say what is abuse. What is the average and what is the outlier?

Edit:  Actually just checked on the Sprint Website.  12 mo average is 1.99GB.

  7. Well this is what I have. Incoming calls from a land line go straight to VM, cell calls seem to get through most of the time. This started right after I tried the wifi calling. I turned it off (not sure on the reprovisioning side though). Still having the same problem. Also seem to have a degrade in my LTE signal. Use to hang around -102 to -107. Now it runs -112 to -115 and I am seeing a lot more 3G. Is it possible to downgrade iOS version?

You have to login to your acct and remove the WiFi calling feature.  When you use it the first time it is added to your acct just like any other feature.  That should resolve the issues with the calls.

  8. I had the same issue along with a few other members. You have to reprovision your account to turn off WiFi calling on the screen that pops up when you change the emergency 911 address. Fixed it for me. Forget about WiFi calling until they sort that one out.

Yeah I had the same issue and both Sprint and Apple support had no clue how to fix it as of Sat night.  Finally figured it out with my own troubleshooting.  You have to remove the Wi-Fi calling feature from your account.  Anybody having this issue should contact Sprint tech support and let them know what the issue is so they can get on it and also give better support to others having this issue.  They wanted me to do a wipe and restore as new to try and fix it.  That would be a big PITA.  I did get a ticket opened late Sat night.

  9. I can confirm the same issue here. I toggled it off, logged on to my account and removed the provisioning, and all is well now. This is a big bug, what a headache.

Thanks for sharing. I did a support chat and reported it. They had no solution when I called them still having issues. They wanted me to do a wipe and restore as new but I tried removing the provision before doing that and it worked. What is weird is it worked well for a couple of days and today I had the issues. Luckily I have good service at work and home so this is not a huge issue for me right now.

  10. My wife and I have been having intermittent calls going straight to voicemail since turning on wifi calling on iPhone 6s. I figure they have some bugs to work out. Otherwise it has been great to have.

I agree it is a great feature when working.  It does seem like there are some bugs right now.  Rate of failed calls today even when not on WiFi was way to high.  I will try it again after they work the kinks out.

  11. Had a pretty serious issue today and my troubleshooting seems to point to WiFi calling on iPhone.  Today trying to call my Wife who also has an iPhone 6 I kept getting a fast busy signal or going straight to voicemail.  Calling other numbers was generally successful but would sometimes get a fast busy also.  Folks calling me would sometimes get a busy signal or go to voicemail.  Other services such as texts and internet seemed to work fine.  These issues were happening all over town and not just on wifi. I turned the WiFi toggle off and still had issues.  Finally logged onto my acct and removed the WiFi calling provision from both of our lines.  No issues since.  So if anybody with an iPhone is experiencing call issues you might want to try this before taking more drastic measures.

  13. Wi-Fi calling is now on iPhone's with iOS 8.3 update that hit today!  Sprint FAQ has been updated.

    What phones support Wi-Fi Calling?

Android Devices: To check if your device supports Wi-Fi Calling, go to Settings to look for the Wi-Fi Calling option. Wi-Fi Calling is also listed on the Key Features tab of the phone details page.

iOS Devices: Wi-Fi Calling is only available on iPhone 5c, 5s, 6, and 6 Plus models.  It requires iOS version 8.3 and the Carrier Version 19.1 or higher. To update to iOS 8.3, go to Settings>General>Software Update. To update the Carrier Version go to Settings>General>About which will trigger the update. Complete this step after the 8.3 Upgrade.

  14. My wife has been having an issue with her 6 and I can't figure out if it is a network issue or the phone because I don't seem to have this problem with my phone nearly as often as she does. Basically at least a couple times a day when she places a call the phone acts like it connects but she hears no ringing or the other side pickup. She will try the call again and it goes through. The other side tells her the their phone rang but they herd nothing when they picked up. Anybody else been experiencing this?

  15. This is good for consumers.  If you fully own a device, you should be able to do what you wish with it, period.

Will this be good for Sprint?  Probably not a huge positive impact.  Yes, it makes Sprint's plans more attractive now that people on other carriers will not be required to buy new phones now if they don't want to.  And Sprint users should not be punished on the resale market anymore.  But, there are few devices sold by other carriers that have B41 for example that I think most would agree is required for the best experience on Sprint.  Also, I would think now VZW and ATT would just use their influence with device makers to get variants made just for them that only have the bands required for their networks and a minimum of additional bands needed for roaming.  I don't think it is going to be the free for all some are envisioning.

  16. So now we're going to bash authors simply because they don't know what we know? That kind of makes my point about the Sprint branding. I think lots of necessary changes are occurring but it never seems people will ever give it a chance PERIOD because of the past. The only way to really convince them otherwise is a new Sprint being called something else. That something else doesn't even have to be called SoftBank, that's just the most logical candidate name existing right now.

I appreciate that there's some people enthusiastic about the network for a change but Sprint took a $2 Bln charge for guess what? The damaged brand.

I bash authors who are lazy.  Who pick and choose what they want to report.  I expect authors to do research and balance their reporting.  This particular author has a reputation now of bashing Sprint whenever he gets a chance but chooses to ignore any positive or good news about the company.  To report like Sprint has made no strides in the past year is misleading at best.  I agree that Sprint as a brand is damaged but when the tech press fails to report on any improvements the company has made it just makes things worse and I don't know if changing the brand will make a huge difference in their eyes.

  17. Another Day, Another Tech Blog Tear Down Piece of Sprint. This time courteous of Android Central and the Buying Out of RS.

Hey give at least give them credit for going all out in Dressing Up the Pig

    http://www.androidcentral.com/sprint-has-problems-and-buying-radioshack-stores-isnt-going-fix-them

Consider the author.  He takes a good rip at Sprint any chance he gets while never reporting any positive news about them.  It's like Sprint killed his dog or something.  I don't mind authors who report on some of Sprints issues, we all know they still have plenty of them, but when there is no balance in the reporting then it looses all credibility with me.  Lazy reporting at its finest.

  18. So will Sprint unlock the iPhone 6 Plus now?

As far as I know only an unlocked SIM free 6/6+ bought directly from Apple will be unlocked and work with any carrier, including Sprint.  Apparently these phones are whitelisted.  A 6+ bought from Sprint will still be locked to Sprint and they will only lock for non-domestic use.

  19. This is great news.  It's awesome that Apple is just selling the Sprint iPhone unlocked to any customer for use on any major network in the USA.

I hope that Apple moves towards selling a single model that works across all carriers in the US - they are very close.

Very refreshing.  Nexus 6 and iPhone 6, the first phones to break down the 1 device/1 carrier rule.  Now, customers will be able to buy 1 device and use it on any carrier they would like.  It's game changing.  Unhappy with your service?  Just switch to a new carrier while not having to deal with contracts, ETFs, and other BS.

Now if Sprint would just unlock iPhone's customers bought from them that are paid in full.
