  1. I have an additional question for the return kits...  I know most of you were on the iPhone lease prior to the 6S.

     

    Mine is a little different.  I have to send an old smartphone for the promo pricing on the iPhone Forever leasing - but I also have to send back my Easypay device since I used the annual upgrade (unlimited data add on for my Framily plan line).

     

    Do I have to send back everything with that phone?  All the cords, etc?  Or just the phone for that too?  Should I put it all in the one padded envelope RMA kit they sent me?  Unsure on if that is a good idea as I don't want either of the phones to get damaged from knocking into each other during transit.

     

    I am confused also as I too have to send back two phones.  One old smartphone for iPhone forever discount and my iPhone 6 that was on an old lease.  I got an email on Friday saying a kit had been sent, not received yet.  I just got another email this morning that another kit was sent.  So I am not sure if they are sending me one kit for each phone, or if the second email I received is tied to the first kit.  And if I get two kits, is each kit tied to a specific phone, and will that be indicated on the envelope. 

     

    A lot of money is tied up in getting these returns right, and I must say I don't have a lot of confidence in this system at the moment. I really wish I could just walk into a corp store and hand them my phones,  it would make me feel a lot better. 

     

    One last thing, to those of you who do have the kits, did they just come in the regular mail or did UPS deliver them?

  2. What do I need to mail back for iPhone Forever? Just the phone? Or the entire contents of the box (phone, cable, charger, ear buds)?

  3. I was told that AppleCare didn't count for proper insurance on a lease, and that if I had AppleCare and got a replacement, my lease would come due in full. Anyone with Sprint care to clarify? I much prefer to have AppleCare over the very expensive TEP.

    Not true at all.  All you have to return is the same model/capacity that is on the lease.  On my lease the ESN is not even on the paperwork, just the model and capacity.  Sounds like a rep trying to get a TEP commission.

  4. Just called them and they said I can't bring it to the store blah blah blah. Im going to take it to USPS and pay for tracking. I am not sending 2100 dollars in phones back without tracking in case they get lost.

     

    I have not even received the official return kit yet.  I got an email on Sat stating it had been sent out. 

     

    While I am glad that Sprint is reacting faster to the competition with rolling out new plans and promos, the problem is when you move so fast you can't do proper system testing and staff training.  It does not make for the best customer experience.

  5. My brother brought our phones back to the Sprint store and they said they can not take them. Pretty sure its a corporate store....

     

    Yeah, reddit has mixed stories also with some saying they took their phones, others saying they would not.  Not really happy with this situation.  I am not that comfortable mailing back my old phone with that big charge sitting on my acct.  I got my bill today and it was on there showing due on Oct 14.  I really don't want to pay it and then just get a bill credit back.  I am not happy with this situation and wish it would have been explained better when I ordered. I am actually considering just doing a return and unwinding it to get the charges removed and then doing a new transaction and just doing the giveback in store then on the spot.  I wonder if that can be done.

  6. Well no new 6s + for me yesterday. Sure enough, UPS sat on it for pretty much 24 hours before moving it from Louisville. It is now less than 2 hours away in drive time at Oak Creek, WI in a UPS warehouse. Scheduled for delivery early Monday morning.

     

    So for those of you that got your iPhones yesterday - I am assuming they did require a signature? I won't be home and neither will my wife on Monday (and I have a couple meetings in the AM so I can't work from home). I live in a secure apartment building for the time being, and usually UPS just leaves stuff right by my front door. Hoping that with the instructions to do so, that they will even with this delivery. I really wish Sprint wouldn't disable the pick up at UPS facility option though.

    No signature required for me.

  7. For anyone on iPhone forever, and questioning what to do with your old device, I just got an email that my return kit is being shipped. It's called RMAKIT - giveback return kit. It was automatic, and I didn't even ask for it. I'll still return it in store if possible.

  8. My wife's shows delivered, but I don't think she knows it's out there right now.  UPS came real early this morning.  Usually they don't show up until 6-7 at night

     

    It always seems like on days like today the UPS schedule is kinda off.  Usually we get late deliveries also but the last couple of times we had iPhones delivered they came around noon.

  9. UPS won't let me modify my delivery one bit, as usual. Sprint restricts every UPS service when delivering phones, including: hold for pickup, rescheduling, and delivery windows. Bleh. There's a good possibility nobody will be home tomorrow.

    The hold for pickup I understand for fraud purposes.  The others I don't understand why they restrict those.

  10. Same here. They'll be updating sometime today when UPS scans thousands of them into their system. Sprint just made the labels, and the boxes are just sitting in their warehouse.

    It was the same thing last year.  I would not worry about it.  They will be here tomorrow.  They just hold them as long as possible because they want to avoid early deliveries.  Don't get hung up on the two day air service, they will be delivered tomorrow.

    also if you trade in a iphone 6 -- new deal is $5 and they will still pay off your lease on that iphone 6

     

     

    Now I will say he bashed the $15 Sprint plan since you needed to trade in a phone for it. Which is true BUT then basically just copied it. So was it shit or was it great?

     

    so hardware aside what really matters is the plan price - and coverage. And unless I'm wrong Sprint kicks the Lamas Ass on that!

    Seems odd to be releasing a plan like this three days before launch. They must have noticed a dent in pre-orders or something. Seems like a slow response for T-Mobile.

    Have you had any issues with your service?  On another forum some with large balances like yours are reporting that their service is being suspended due to the size of the charge and are having a heck of a time getting it resolved.  The more I think about it this is a screw up by Sprint.  No reason to charge accounts like this until the 30 days window for returns is up. 

     

    Edit:  Sounds like the folks having issues are the ones with a spending limit on their acct.  The charges exceed their limit and causes their service to be cut off.

  13. How did you manage this? I have tried asking reps before and it keeps getting denied saying I'm not eligible for an upgrade until September 1 of next year

     

    I tweeted at Marcelo and SprintCare.  SprintCare responded and we exchanged some DM's.  I then got a call from their team.  I was polite, made no threats, just asked if I could get an early upgrade since they were allowing new customers to get annual upgrades.  They said she would call me back after reviewing my acct, and after 15 mins I got a callback saying my upgrade had been moved up.  I should note I have never asked for an early upgrade before, just thought I would try because I really want the CA on the new iPhone.

    Good Idea.  I would take them to the store and get a receipt.  No way I would trust shipping with that much on the line.

  15. Here is what I got back from my rep that gave me the early upgrade on Twitter.

     

    Thank your for that information. Sorry for any miscommunication. We will adjust the accelerated charge for canceling your lease early with the return of your equipment. You should receive a return kit to facilitate the return of your current device. Please DM us if you have any additional concerns about this process.

     

     

    My guess is the chat rep earlier did not know of my arrangement and was giving me a stock answer.  Looks like everything is ok.  :tu:

  16. We all switched out of our 2 year contracts over to the iPhone forever plan. The rep said that our account has been charged for the devices (all brand new iPhone 6's) because our pre-orders have begun to ship. When we return the phone to the store or via mail, the amount will be removed. 

    I hope that is my issue also.  Communication is still not one of Sprints strengths.  I mean, if you need to charge the acct pending device return, fine.  Just make sure you let the customer know instead of having them log into their acct and see a surprise like that.
