  1. I have removed Wi-Fi calling from my account page, outgoing calls ring for a while then I get the same number has been disconnected message. FaceTime audio somewhat remedies the issue for now but nTelos 3G can only work so well... Anyone have more of a fix? I don't think a restore would fix it since it seems to be on the carrier end and not device end.

  2. I got a question about the LTE strength I have with ntelos. What should the range be on the signal before it is to weak to be usable? My phone has one bar of lte it is useless up to two or three it is still unusable. I in Roanoke, va where is have been launched for a few months now

The site could just have heavy traffic connected to it. Try to use the same site after midnight and see what kind of speeds you pull from it then.

  3. I updated my 6 Plus to 8.3 and everything seemed fine. I activated Wi-Fi calling and everything was flawless. Yesterday my friend was complaining that he cannot make calls or receive calls when not on Wi-Fi - the caller gets a voice recording saying the number has been disconnected and when he tries to call someone it says their number has been disconnected. Today I realized this is happening to me too. We both have turned off wifi calling and tried hard resets with no luck, Sprint reps just said do a hard reset otherwise they don't have another answer and to contact Apple. Anyone else having this issue..?

  4. I'm going on a road trip to West Virginia next month for some hiking. What kind of service can I expect have there been any improvements in WV? I'll be in Charleston, Oak Hill, Fayeteville, Summersville and Beckley.

nTelos's service map is pretty accurate service wise from my experience it doesn't exaggerate coverage really at all. Speed wise, i've been to all the places you listed and they have been upgraded and have decent 3G speeds (.8-2mbps) so long as there aren't too many people around bogging down the tower. Beckley being a slight exception because it seems no matter what time of day it is the towers seem to struggle with speed.

  5. About two weeks ago when I picked up my 6 Plus they overheard me talking about leaving for VZW come June when my contract is over and their immediate response was "is it because you don't have 4G?" and I said yes of course that's the only issue I have. That ended up with 4 workers telling me how it was supposed to be up and running back in January but they ran into issues. Honestly it all sounded like the normal response in hopes of not losing a customer. I also mentioned the forum and how the 4G they've put up isn't necessarily up to NV standards and would need to be partially redone but they seemed pretty confident that was wrong and that LTE would be available on Sprint any day now. Also funny that last time I went in store they had nTelos reps talking with employees. Just putting my two cents; from Beckley anyways.

Also as a side note, all of the employees at my local Sprint store have their phones rooted and constantly run their rooted hotspot apps and all I could think was how a total no no that is..

  6. Switching most likely means paying a lot more & if you're going to switch I would go to Verizon for the best mix of speed and coverage (from my personal experience that is). AT&T has the best coverage here but is overloaded usually, USC isn't a speed demon but they're ok for most normal people (although many people I know who USC drop to weak 3G or 1x as soon as they enter a building). My friend on Verizon pays almost $190 a month for one phone & a 4GB plan while we pay $235 for 4 phones & unlimited. Just my two cents on switching I suppose. Pre-paid is an option as well if you can stomach an off contract priced phone.

  7. The Nitro report was a long time ago. These new ones could be something completely different. Hopefully someone will go through Lewisburg or Lexington soon and verify these blips.

That's what I was thinking. Hopefully if it's real they start working here in Beckley & the other places it's launched as well. I'd be happy to be the test guinea pig for LTE!

  8. Is anyone running the beta or are we all on ios 8.0.2?

Running 8.1 Beta 2 for a few days now and I don't notice many changes. It feels a tad bit snappier when opening apps and going through menu's but that's about it. It's still just as buggy and crash-prone as 8.0.2 and battery life is just as awful. I can watch it fall from 60% to 40% in almost 20 minutes sometimes. Sometimes it will drop 3-5% at a time. I really wish Apple was still signing 7.1.2.
  9. You're going to get LTE but rather than doing a full Network Vision style upgrade, they're going to just take out the old nTelos carrier cards and put Sprint carrier cards in. Speeds up deployment but because they are not adding RRH'S, or using fiber backhaul, the network will be short in terms of coverage and speeds. Bonded T1's and T3's aren't going to be able to provide those insane peak speeds that come with things like Spark.

Are they doing this now like as we speak and allowing us to use it or is this like their plan for like months down the road?
