Same thing here in Beckley WV. 1.5- low 2's down and .6-.8 up. I was in Charleston WV this previous weekend and it was the same story there. 3G improvements seem to have been wide spread fairly quickly which is a good sign. Hopefully LTE is the same story. AND accessible by us Sprint users who depend on it!!!

That's the million dollar question.Wow. Real classy of them. I wonder if they will sequester LTE access for Sprint Users, who are the ones that stand to gain the most from this. Why are they being so secretive ?

I say they will wait until they launch another market or two to make a deal about it. I think they would get complaints like "oh yeah 4G in one city!"Why would they not put this on their website? It's kinda a big deal for some people. Sprint while you are buying T mobile, buy ntelos too for the love of all things good!
And buying them would really be nothing but good in my opinion. We can hope!

Lots of tweets saying if you go to nTelos and add a $10 add on to your plan you gain access to LTE. This was one of the screenshots I saw. Hopefully we find out soon if Sprint can connect....

Is it available to sprint customers ?

No idea, i'm in Beckley. We are supposed to be the other launch market for them.

So I just got confirmation from an nTelos representative that 4G is launched in Waynesboro. Couldn't get any more information beyond that.

If only somebody on Sprint could give confirmation that; one it is active for sure and two, Sprint devices can connect to it.

I've just gotten curious and plugged in things like "nTelos 4G" into twitters search and gotten a few tweets of people saying nTelos is 4G now, no pictures or other confirmation other that that... All of them are in the Waynesboro area.

I remember what is now saying 1700 was 1900 a week or so ago. It changeddoesn't match up for us if it goes down this way. Their pcs is on 1900 so they should roll that out for the wholesale with sprint.

Any thoughts on this? Is nTelos doing their own version of Spark? Only thing is that instead of 1900 & 800 it's 1700 & 700.... Doesn't match up....

I tried contacting nTelos a few days ago to try and get an update and instead of them just saying by the holidays I was only told they have not released any information about 4G. So either that person was more stubborn or they're telling them not to say anything because they're way behind. Every tower here seems to have been upgraded physically though, so I don't know what is holding them back this far.

Does anybody know if the West Virginia section pertains to the very limited native Sprint coverage in the panhandle and in Parkersburg, or does it include the nTelos territory as well?

I thought my iPhone was bent as well, I took it into sprint about two weeks ago and they told me the battery was expanding. They replaced the phone free of charge, kinda scary thinking I had been carrying a phone for 3 months that could explode any minute.

Sorry, I looked but it was obviously directly under my nose and I never realized. You could at least read a little bit further up on this very page...

So this is probably a noob question and I'm just not looking enough but... Is the Nexus 5 you'd get from Sprint a special version with the Spark LTE bands, or could I buy one unlocked from Google Play and put a Sprint sim in it and it work the same?

Oh yeah, it was Waynesboro, Staunton, Bluefield, and Beckley. Unfortunately, no New River Valley or Roanoke.
I'm sure a place like Roanoke would follow soon after, i'm surprised Beckley is a first round kind of place over some of the other areas they cover. Guess we are test guinea pigs!

By the way, I managed to get the 4 markets were LTE is initially launching from the live chat last night:
http://s4gru.com/index.php?/topic/4969-ntelos-q3-2013-conference-call-upcoming/?p=239096
Maybe someone else can get a start date out of them? In a conference this week, they said "in time for the holiday selling season", so maybe that's in a couple weeks?
Can't get my PayPal to work correctly so I haven't been able to become a sponsor. I read a day or two ago it was Beckley/Bluefield Waynesboro/Christiansburg initially. Luckily i'm in Beckley!!

That sounds like it makes more sense. I can see that happening but not in a place where nTelos IS the provider for sprint coverage. If you follow some of nTelos' recent presentations, they state they are building out LTE in their wholesale footprint to serve Sprint. Maybe in their non-wholesaled footprint (eastern VA, etc.), their LTE buildout won't be shared at all since Sprint obviously has that covered on their own.

Better not be true. It sounds too dumb almost to be true. Only letting your customers have LTE in a few cities in WV and VA? That just seems ridiculous. Fingers crossed someone more knowledgable can answer that question.Today I was in the Morgantown mall and stopped in the nTelos store for my monthly dose of laughs. "when are you guys going to get LTE in Morgantown?". Was my standard question. This time the rep said "i think early next year but they are installing it in Beckley and some Virginia cities right now". He went on to ask me how many lines I had and I told him I was with Sprint and that I was aware they used nTelos towers throughout much of WV. He said I was crazy for having Sprint in WV as it was more expensive than nTelos for the exact same coverage. I told him I was on Sero and his comment was that id never be allowed to upgrade again and still keep that plan. Then he went on the say that Sprint phones will not be allowed to use nTelos' 4G LTE network because the companies agreement was for 3g only. He said that nTelos customers won't be allowed to use Sprints LTE network either.
Any truth to this or is this typical worker bee jargon? If Sprint is not over building in WV and there is no 4g agreement then I'd be screwed.

Interesting...Their conference call earlier this week suggested the opposite.
Well if it was postponed after a supposed launch two weeks ago i'm guessing we can expect it any day now. Hopefully... Fingers crossed...

Just had a chat with an nTelos employee. Sounds to me like they might be building out all the LTE first and then launching/turning on most if not all at once.

Even if the T-Mobile merger does go through I think they will acquire a few. Just look at T-Mobile coverage in the state of WV, there is almost 0 native coverage in the entire state, it's all EDGE roaming on AT&T. So an accusation of a carrier like nTelos would still be a good decision.
