  1. Do people still roam in big cities? My only big city experiences are the DFW metroplex and Atlanta, and I never roam in those. Every once in a while I would roam when driving from Atlanta to DFW.

If you count Madison, Wisconsin as "big city," I was roaming on USCellular when I was at a concert there last weekend.

If tower spacing/non-upgraded towers is an issue still and you're in a big brick building or the like, people could go to roaming without a doubt.

  2. I hate I hate I hate I hate going into sprint stores.

I came into the store to activate a iPhone 6s that is unlocked that I had wth T-Mobile because the rep couldn't do it over phone. So I told the rep that I need to swap phones on my line and somewhere it was lost in translation and they activated the damn phone on another line on my account. The rep asks me do I have that other phone. I looked at that rep and said no that's a other persons line. So they had to call and get the stuff fixed and add the phones to the right numbers. I just don't understand why the reps don't listen. I've never had a good experience when going into their stores. I try by all means to stay away.

Now is it true that a sprint store can not help a person with a Virgin mobile account? A guy walked into the store needing help and the rep had no clue sprint owned virgin mobile and when I said they do she said oh well we only have access to sprint and boost. Crazy thing is this person was training a new hire. I just don't get it with these stores where I live.

Ouch. I've learned which reps are good and bad. Unfortunately it seems like they have more bad apples then good, but that's my opinion especially for the Best Buy mobile here. (Look at my story in the Framily thread on here and you'll see why)

I hope as they continue to change their image being a better network, more - and better - reps will get hired. There are definitely good ones out there, it's just knowing who they are. Sorry you've had bud luck.

  3. Just got an email from Karma... as always if you're interested PM me and I can get you my referral code.

    GIVE $25, GET $25.

You’re the friend who has everything covered—and that means you’re the WiFi connection for your crew, whether you’re on a road trip or at your weekend AirBnb. You rule at sharing.

Take advantage. Now through Friday (3/25), every referral is worth $25, instead of $10. So, when your friends buy Karma, they’ll get $25 off, and you’ll get a $25 credit in your account for every referral. It’s a little reward for awesome sharers like you.

  4. Is it possible these omissions are due to the chassis size? The logic board can only be so big inside the phone - would a physically larger phone have allowed Apple to go full-bore on the LTE bands/technologies with this phone?

That's what I was thinking... it is after all only a 4 inch display. They're packing in a whole lotta tech into a very small size, they might not have enough room to do everything.

  5. Completely off topic but important question but my girlfriend lives in Marquette MI and it says roaming area for coverage. She said that lately she's been seeing more sprint commercials whereas before she hadn't. Now I'm curious why would sprint have local advertising in an area that offers no sprint coverage ? I assume they don't plan on expanding in Marquette anytime soon if at all ???

This Sprint coverage map was last updated January 10, 2016.  The area is covered by Cellcom under 3G & more.  Let us know if you get LTE.

Next time start your own thread. The Upper Peninsula of Michigan is a long ways from Montana. Maybe a moderator will do this for you.

Please follow up with us on what you experience in Marquette. I have the U.P. towers in my premier thread and I'd like to officially update the stats with the information.

Brynn, do you still have an iPhone 5? Or have you upgraded?

  6. I didnt know bp has nfc at the gas pumps now and tv commercials while your pumping. Wtf

A lot of gas station pumps are incorporating TV's here. I haven't seen the NFC before, so that's pretty cool!

It's a great marketing tool to advertise their in store specials, and the longer you pump (and more money you spend) the more likely they are to give out freebies.

Just a couple weeks ago I was given the option to print a coupon for a free fountain drink after pumping like 15 gallons of gas.

  7. I'm curious... anyone still have their Tab 3 on their account?

I just took mine off a couple weeks ago and is now being a finicky lil' bugger on Wi-Fi. I was going to sell it, but now plan to donate it to a place who I know needs a tablet. But if it's going to be problematic, idk.

  8. 3 words for the update.

This. Sucks. (Insert your choice of naughty word here).

I was going to reference a towers LTE broadcast and I thought the controls were out of whack because I didn't see any purple... that map is now an eye sore more than it is a helpful reference tool.

  9. You may want to update the section on Pulse to make it clear that Pulse is a monthly subscription "use it or lose it" to those data buckets.  Additional data can be purchased at $15 per 1GB if you run out of data in the pulse buckets.

Will do, I'll do a better a job at explaining that and update it later tonight.

  10.

Does this mean theoretically if Sprint would natively cover the UP with service, it would be considered in the North Wisconsin market?

Great find, I've been looking at a lot of these you've posted.

  11. I suspicion that in order to avoid direct competition with their host networks, they don't offer service where there is only Sprint or only T mobile.

That is strange, I'm no where near a T-Mobile tower here in my zip code in Wisconsin and it still worked. I believe the nearest tower for me is about 20-25 miles away.

I wonder what its requirements are to say you qualify?

  12. Should get in touch with your nearest vault-tec rep :)

I'm excited to get 6.0, but hopefully there aren't any hiccups in it like lag or battery drainage like my G3 had from the upgrade from 4.0 to 5.1.

  13. I thought so, but it's just roaming 3G correct ? Not native ? I don't trust Sprints website. Lol. My girlfriend lives up there for college and I'm going to see her in April. Just want to make sure I have a useable phone while I'm in town visiting her.

Yes it will be roaming. But depending on where you are there, you may get Roaming+, which is considered to be native Sprint coverage. Again it's spotty because its covered by one tower.

  14. Just a sample of my normal drain here. This is only 1 hour, but if I leave it for several hours (I know, who can possibly do that), it slows the rate to about 1-2% an hour. So maybe overnight, I'd lose 20%? Hard to say, never did that before. I don't limit anything, I have FB app installed and I have a lot of things syncing all the time. This is on B26 LTE, which isn't strong here in my office. (the time left is based on my usage, which I use it a lot)

I'm curious, what is your screen brightness set at? That's my biggest drain.

    LG G3

I've got a G3 that has been delegated to backup duty since purchasing my 6P. Shoot me an offer through PM if interested.

I actually would be, however this week ate my budget. Not only did my G3 die, but my car also decided it needed to break down on a highway and get towed.

So until I can recoup some of my costs, I can't really buy anything more. But if you still have it or want to sell it in about a month, I may hit you up on it if that's okay?

  15. Sorry I have not been very active on the forums as of recent. These past couple weeks have been crazy with college and my business picking up.

As soon as I can go through everything and have time to, I will update the main page with plan changes and details.
