There is no diag mode. A Nexus is pure Android and does not have the special LG screen.
Sent from my Nexus 5
So then how did you update your PRL with Basic-Flasher?
-
Try following the guide here. I was able to flash my PRL through this method.

Yeah thats the problem...no idea how to enable the DIAG port enable to get basic-flasher to work.
-
Still looking for a way to manually update the PRL ourselves to a chosen one...any ideas on how to enable the DIAG port on the phone?
-
I see they have figured out how to update the PRL on the G2 by activating the diagnostics port on the phone and upgrading through software. Any ideas if the nexus 5 has anything similar?
-
Hopefully the kernel gods give us some good stuff to conserve battery. Its already been noted that mpdecision is quick to active and run the cores at full blast. Development just started and can only get better...I currently am running Franco test 7 and its definitely doing better battery wise...
-
So how about that ability to manually update our PRL yet? Anyone?

I agree...unlimited no throttled data...only thing Sprint has and seems destined to keep in its favor!

I am pretty sure this phone doesn't like being in cars and going from tower to tower. This morning coming to work (35 mile trip) at highway speeds it was going all over the place to where to actually dropped the data network and wouldn't reconnect. I had to reboot the phone to get data again. What worries me is if you read about the LG G2 they have very similar issues with LTE and radio signals in general.

Have you tried cleaning your SIM card with an eraser (the contacts)?
Have you tried updating profile over wifi?
Is your Network Mode on LTE?
Actually this brings up a question...under Network Mode mine is currently set to Global however LTE/3G are functioning as expected...should I set this to LTE?

If anyone figures out how to write your PRL can you give a quick how-to?

So is there a mutual agreement about band priority or not Just wondering what is the best setup? Thanks fellas!

For those stores claiming no sim cards here is a tip. Don't tip your hand to them. Tell them you are looking for a sim card for the galaxy s4 or htc one. DO NOT MENTION the Nexus 5. When they say yeah we have those then get out the Nexus and assure them it will work.
For some reason the Sprint stores are under the impression that there is special sim cards for the Nexus 5. So I did the above workaround with no issue.

Yep been setting mine up this evening trying to shut off stuff to save battery such as NFC. I got the bootloader unlocked, twrp installed, and rooted. I tried the USB tethering/wifi hotspot but didn't have much luck...no idea if I am missing drivers or not. Wifi would connect but couldn't get the device to go to any sites. Anyone else try the hotspot?

Yep is the part number straight off the sim card: SIMGLW206R...so based on the matrix above:

Not here to brag but perhaps help others...went to the Sprint store today and asked if they had replacement sim cards for the galaxy s4 (didn't even mention the nexus 5). He went to the back and came out and said success. I just need the phone itself to tie the sim card to the phone IMEI. I said no problem and took out the nexus 5. I reassured the guy it would work. He scanned the IMEI off the box and scanned the SIM card. After tieing the 2 together he swapped phones on my account. Within 20 minutes I was walking out with a Nexus 5 with full Sprint service. This was with a 16GB nexus 5 not a 32GB. Apparently he thought the sim cards for the s4 and htc one didn't work. He was under the belief there was a special sim card for the nexus 5. After he was finished he was happy and I was happy. Hope this helps others!

Those running around getting SIMs today are wasting gas...if the MEIDs are not in the system you are just asking for serious headaches/stress from Sprint.
irev210 godspeed!

Came back with the SKU and finally got them to give me a SIM (they had TONS in stock but had to convince them the nexus 5 sim wasn't special).
Now, the MEID doesn't seem to be in the Sprint database yet - they told me that I can't activate it until November 8th.
Sprint sometimes really drops the ball.
Wow this is amazing...nothing against the early pioneers but hopefully this is resolved before my SIM shows up...very tough luck!

Add me to the list...no SIM cards at my Sprint Store so had to order via chat. No option for overnight so 3 to 5 days. I did get an order number so I guess I have a pretty cool wi-fi device for new few days. Also based on my order number the product ID is CZ2102LWR LTEGSM REMOVEABLE 3FF USIM.

Well this was a shock...hopped on my phone from inside my house and for the first time ever had an LTE signal. It wasn't that strong so hard to believe this is the Bondurant tower which is only a mile or so away. However I was able to capture 2 different cell ids. I will try to get beside the tower tomorrow and find out for sure. Is it possible a tower in Altoona went live today and I am picking up those faint signals?
-
Someone correct if I am wrong...but 1x800 is actually slower than 3G however the coverage can go on for miles and miles. In the case of Sprint its a big deal as the plan is to eventually roll LTE to these 800 mhz bands meaning not only will we have crazy LTE coverage but also the speed on 800 mhz can theoretically push 50 mbps...
-
I am waiting for the tower in Bondy to go LTE

So after digging around my assumption is there is a way to enable the DIAG mode through ADB...I have seen scripts which do this for AOSP ROMS however don't have the nuts to do try this...hopefully someone gives it a whirl...
