  1. While at Kearns High School this morning for a dance recital with full 4G. This is a screen shot from later today with WiFi on. The result doesn't show whether it was 4G or 3G. However, the antenna logo next to the date shows that it was through Sprint. You'll just have to take my word for it. Also, signals can sometimes be bad in buildings but the 4G was strong all through the school.

  2. FYI - We went to get my wife's phone upgraded and while there I mentioned to the guy that my signal wasn't working even though it has been fine for the past few days. He mentioned that Sprint is going to be pretty bad in the next 10 or so days because they're doing the final push to get 4G LTE up and running. I guess a lot of people have called to complain about their service.

After about Dec 10 the the network should be working and we'll see download speeds up to about 10-15 mbps. Makes sense as a few big clients in Utah have threatened to leave Sprint if 4G isn't finished by the end of the year.

Here's hoping for patience within the next week and a half an an awesome signal by the end of the year.

  3. I called Sprint to find out the in store prices for phones and how they compare. The rep said their online prices are lower due to online savings and then said those prices are also only for new customers and don't apply to existing customers. I've had store reps give me incorrect info before and wanted to see if this was the case.

Does Sprint truly cater toward new customers with deeper discounts more than existing customers? This seems very backward as Sprint should want people to stay with them.

    Your thoughts?

  4. What about the tower behind the megaplex 20? or is that one not any closer?  You may want to consider getting the nexus 5 (very similar to the G2) that does work with Sprint and ATT and Tmo.  That way if you wanted to switch to ATT or Tmo for a few months until Sprint gets more of their rollout complete, and then switch back you wouldn't have to change phones.

I'm on 6000 W. so the closest tower is in Herriman. I'll probably go with the Nexus 5 but I'm not sure if I want to pay to buy it unlocked.

  5. Will triband phones such as the LG G2 pick up the current 3G Sprint network the best and any signal Sprint puts out the best? The reason I ask is because I'm going to try that phone when my contract is done and if its still not picking up the Sprint signal decently, I'm going to try another carrier.

My closest tower is the Herriman tower on Brundisi Way and there are no towers in the Daybreak area. If the LG G2 can pick up signals in this area consistently and stronger than what I'm used to, I'll assume the LTE rollout will make it even better.

    Thoughts?

  6. I think it is time for you to upgrade to a triband LTE device.

Exactly, my plan is to go with the LG G2. I really feel this will solve a lot of my problems. I'll either get the LG G2 for my wife or the SG G4 mini. I think both will be good.

  7. I figured I'd vent for a minute. I'm pretty sure I have the Epic 4G touch because that's what its labeled as. It's a S GS2 and has been full of problems lately. I'm on the 3rd phone, the 2nd and 3rd ones were refurbished and have all been doing a buzzing vibrating thing where when I wake my phone up it acts as if I've hit the menu buttons at the bottom though I'm not touching anything.

I took it into Sprint and they said I got it wet. (It must have happened when I wen snorkeling and used it to take pics.) I got a replacement and its doing the same thing. (I went snorkeling again.) I've found other forums of users having similar problems.

I really hate this phone and hate that Sprint considered selling it.
