I'm guessing there's no more word or info about the update? Weird.

Will playing around with the bands through the Nexus 5 app mess anything up when the spark update comes?

With my Nexus 5 I've wondered about this. Could my phone issues be the result of a bad phone? Did I get a lemon? I wonder how I could find out?

Sprint tower upgrade steps

Thank you! -
I don't know if I'm missing anything or can't find any info but is there a fairly clear and straight forward guide to the steps that towers undergo to be upgraded to 3G and then to LTE? Is there a way to create such a list or thread for this? If not maybe someone could answer some of my questions that I'm still curious about. I haven't been able to find out what backhaul means and also when towers are waiting to be upgraded could there be an issue with the equipment vendor or the property owner where the tower resides or government permits to get it upgraded? I'm guessing it could be any of these but are there issues more prevalent in some areas or with Sprint overall? What is the difference between acceptance and backhaul? Is acceptance when the equipment has been installed and both the vendor approves it and then Sprint approves it? Thanks in advance for answering these questions and I apologize if they've all ben answered.

One question about the app: I noticed on 3G it shows the name and location (links to Google maps) of the tower under the 1xRTT info, but when connected to LTE it shows sector info but nothing more. Is there a way to show this same location info for LTE or am I missing something?

I'm not too surprised because I am able to pick up a strong 4G signal as I drive up and down Mountain View Corridor. I was going to talk to the business owner that this tower is located on and see if I can get some more info. Even with this tower not done, I'm able to pick up a little 4G in my neighborhood.

This may be a dumb post but I saw this at the nearest tower just today and it looks promising. I'm not sure what it is and I thought you guys could clarify for me. If needed I can get better close up pics. I'm a little confused though because when I took the picture I had my phone on LTE only mode and it was picking up LTE. I only assumed it was for the phone tower because it was right next to it.

I am a sponsor but sometimes have a difficulty knowing which map is which. Plus a lot of the terminology still confuses me. I have WiFi at home but what happens is as soon as I leave my house and the WiFi is gone the signal drops to almost nothing. Is there a thread or page on here that explains what backhaul and acceptance are along with step by step details of how each tower is updated?

I'm having issues with my Nexus 5 with typing and especially the swype feature. I use the stock swype and for the last couple weeks it freezes up a little during typing and does crappy auto corrects? Anyone having this issues?

I'll test that out. Thanks! My issues with CSFB is that my phone didn't start having issues until about 2-3 weeks ago. Well after my 14 day trial period which was back in November. I had major issues with my previous phone on Sprint Samsung Galaxy S2. I stuck with Sprint hoping things would get better. So far it's been pretty good. However if the CSFB issues don't subside by this spring or summer, I'm not going to be happy with Sprint.

I have the Nexus 5 and have had weird issues lately. I'm in South Jordan, Utah (South Salt Lake Valley) and my phone is constantly switching to 3G and also going to the Global carrier setting. I've been getting LTE just fine and now I have to change some settings to get it to go back. Sometimes even update the Profile and PRL. Salt Lake has been announced by Sprint as getting LTE but might still be having some growing pains. Could any of my problems be attributed to CSFB or other LTE site issues, or would it only be my phone?

I'm not sure if any other nexus 5 users have experienced this but often my phone goes from LTE to global. Even with LTE available. Sometimes after I update the roaming and prl.

I did figure out how to see which LTE band I'm on through the engineering screen. Even with all the bands enabled I was still only able to get band 25 so I turned the other bands off. Maybe save battery power. The weird thing is even with the Airave box on the signal still kind of sucks. The signal at my house is now crazy and on the verge of getting LTE as it pops up sometimes. Only a matter of time before it's fully available.
