No team has been blacked out since 2013, when there were two. There were none in 2014, then the league got rid of the blackout policy entirely as of 2015.
http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2016/03/28/nfl-continues-suspension-of-blackout-rule/
Even then, the last time the Jags had an issue with not meeting ticket sales and having a blackout was 2009.

I disagree with with the comments about fan support. Now more than ever the fans are loyally supporting the team even with the losing record.
FACT: The Jags haven't had a blackout in YEARS meanwhile other NFL teams struggle with attendance and blackouts each year. Also, you can't expect for the Jags to have the Fan base of the Packers. The Jags are a relatively new team in the NFL and it takes time to build that fan base generation after generation. Before the Jaguars came to be NFL fans in JAX were Tampa Bay, GreenBay, Atlanta and fans of other teams around the country. Most did not switch teams the day the Jags arrived and neither did their sons and daughters.

When do we think Sprint will be able to light up the new 1900Mhz Spectrum they got from the recent swap? That could make a huge impact really quickly with capacity constraints in JAX.
-
Yes mine has been draining really quick..thought about doing a factory reset..also my phone has been hanging up big time, like freezing up..noticed it when I open Google maps and sometimes with Facebook and Google chrome..

Mine has been freezing and getting hot at times too. I thought it might have been just me with an app I installed or something but it now I'm thinking it's related to the most recent update.

Any improvements on RF?
No, it appears to be exactly the same.

It seems like I'm getting better battery life, but too soon to tell yet.
I would agree. It seems like I get better battery life after the update. Time will tell though.

Some small regional carriers which Sprint uses for voice coverage only offer 1xRTT. West Texas has one of them (name escapes my mind at the moment)
Also, Verizon EVDO roaming is only in select areas. As of this 4th of July weekend, I could only call and text when roaming on Verizon (no 1x data).
Would it be Commnet you are thinking of? That's what I would roam on out in New Mexico, Arizona, Utah area. And it was almost impossible to get any data connection on Comment no matter what tower I was connected to. Worst roaming experience EVER!

I hit 80mbps on a Clearwire B41 site in Orange Park. I don't recall if it was CA or not, though. The Clearwire panels are really bad though. The Sprint (Nokia) ones are a lot better.
EDIT: It was across the street from Hungry Howies. Lol
I know that site well and I have never seen 2X CA on it before. It's just an extremely unloaded site I believe.
-
I have a Galaxy Note 5 and it was on Sprint B41 equipment. I have yet to see any 2X CA on Clearwire equipment in JAX.Awesome what device you are using? Also are you connected to a Sprint B41 or Clear wire B41?

Does it represent (bars) in real performance no more 1 bar crap .
Yes and it actually represents your connection's performance. You could have a strong signal but it could be congested and it will display one or no bars. It's what all signal indicators should go to, not just showing how strong of a signal you have but the quality and congestion of the network connection.

Sprint needs to get on the Sony train fast. The xperia Z5 is the first phone that I would legitly leave Sprint for if I have too. It's glorious!
I was just thinking this too. The Z5 premium is sick looking, and its got a huge battery.
Wasn't there some article about Sprint selling Sony handsets soon? I thought I heard something about it recently.

It shows bars very different now. I believe it may factor in signal quality now to if that's possible. For example in the picture i have a -113 dbm signal yet half of my bars are lit up. Thats because this a fast band 41 with CA. In other places though i will have around an -85 dbm signal and it will show low bars or half of the bars. There is a certain tower i drove by today that i know is very congested (band 25 with speeds of around 1 to 3 mbps with a -85 dbm signal) and when i drove by with the -85 dbm signal my bars were at the second to lowest level. On average though i will have full bars until about -98 dbm then it starts falling. There are some places where signal is good but bars are low and vice versa. Also they now have a no bars option. It used to be that u always had at least one bar. Now ive noticed that sometimes when my band 26 is at around -116 dbm or worse it will show no bars.

I agree, the signal bars now represent the connection's performance rather than the signal strength, which is much better for the consumers. I can't count how many times someone complained to be that I only have one bar of LTE but in reality their speed is 20Mbps and on the flip side how many times someone has said "nothing is loading, but I have full bars" (signifying congestion like at a sporting event, etc...)

Has anyone noticed their quick toggle icons disappeared? A bunch of mine are gone, including the mobile data and private mode.

Here are some RF comparisons of the GS6 Edge vs the GS5. The first 2 are comparing B25 and the last one is a shot of both on B26. The GS6 clearly is around 5 db worse that the GS5 in all the tests but seems to hold on to LTE a lot longer and at much higher numbers before it falls back to 3G compared to the GS5.

How can you slide your phone through the swiper?
Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
You don't, the phone uses a tech called MST (Magnetic Secure Transmission) to basically broadcast the same data that is on a magstripe. This allows you to hold the phone near the swipe reader and transmit the data without swiping anything. Its pretty genius actually and I'm surprised no one else has thought to put this tech to use before now.

I have data back, but pings are terrible and data speeds are horrendous.
Maybe Sprint is upgrading the MSC?
Sent from my LG G3 using Tapatalk
Had the same issue and it was on LTE and 3G. I had signal but no internet access.
-
After extensive research I have figured out what causes the rebooting. The device does not reboot when in 3G, only when the device is connected to LTE. More importantly it only reboots when the device is switching bands. This is why some folks don't have an issue and others only have the issue sometimes. If you are in a coverage area that only has Band 25, you probably don't see this issue. If you are in a Sprint Spark market like Chicago, NYC, LA, etc yours probably does this non stop. It will also depends on the location. As long as your device sits on one LTE band for an extended period of time, it won't reboot. The minute it tries to switch, the device will reboot.
I have posted this on both the Sprint and FreedomPop forums in hopes someone will relay the message to Novatel but if someone wants to send this info to Novatel directly to help fix, by all means.

It seems to have stopped, it might have been a single tower having problems.
-
LTE dropping in and out in OP this morning, had to force 3G to be able to use data. Anyone else experiencing this?
-
Just confirmed a few hours ago, Sprint B41 now broadcasting at Blanding and College (Parkridge Ave tower). Still no B26 though.

One by Town Center too. I catch it sometimes when I'm pulling into my apartment. I think it is actually located around Southside and Butler.
Oh that's the tower thats on top one of the building's in deer wood.

What went live?
The first sprint B41 tower someone has successfully connected to in the JAX market that I am aware of. Its in OP at the corner of Constitution and Blanding. You can see the new 8t8r antennas.

They reduced seats because it was one of the largest capacity stadiums in one of the smallest markets, yes. However, Everbank Field is still far from being the smallest by capacity.
People have been saying that for a decade (Jags are going to Los Angeles) and the team is still here. The Jags will be in Jacksonville for a LONG time.
