  1. Not sure if anyone seen this article on FierceInstaller? Just found this perusing around....It's old, almost a month, but figured i'd bring it back to light...Who knows..lol http://www.fierceinstaller.com/story/report-sprint-deploy-70k-small-cells-nationwide-help-network-partner/2015-06-29

  4. So here's my test... I forced my phone to Sprint and placed a call from cell to office and look at what we have on SCP: 1x 800! What?! Now I called my cell from my office and got this... 1x800, but look at that FiNetwork LTE on SCP.... Interesting.... Sent from my Nexus 6 using Tapatalk
  5. Posted in the Fi thread: Hah...I'm browsing the G+ Private forum for Fi users, and they LOVE using SCP Lite....Just thought i'd throw that out there..LOL
  6. Ha, when I seen the box on my porch when I got home from FedEx I thought they sent me an N6 too. A box big enough to fit a tablet for just a Sim card? Surprise! Lol Sent from my Nexus 6 using Tapatalk
  7. It could be they are releasing invites by geographic area. And to answer your question AJ, I just ordered the SIM and used my nexus that was on Sprint. FYI: if you have a Nexus on Sprint you plan on using with Fi, you must deactivate it from being active otherwise, Fi activation will fail. I put my Fi SIM in my N6 and went through activation and failed on the Sprint part. Once I activated my Sprint number on a different phone, it went through. Then I ported out of Sprint the next day. 8. Hi Mike! I had made mention of this in the Google Fi thread, but figured I'd bring it over here to the SCP thread. Anyways, I'm having an issue with SCP and think you may have an idea of what's going on. So here goes. On Google Fi, as you may or may not know, it will auto switch networks between Sprint/T-Mobile. I've noticed that if I open SCP while on one network, the RSRP/Site Note, etc will change fluidly. However, when it switches to another network, SCP will freeze on the first "update" of the new network and keep those values. It will only update values if you exit SCP and go back in. In order to get it to go back to the fluid updates as you travel, you must reboot the phone. This is on the Nexus 6. Any ideas or other questions? Thanks!
  9. P.S....I got this nice bag of tricks with my SIM card....Oh the perks of Google Fi...Included are a Case for the Nexus 6, External Battery Charger (6000mAh), and Headphones. They even included a little green paperclip, in case you lost your SIM extractor tool with the phone! LOL
  10. Call quality is the same as it was on Sprint, pretty good. When you're on T-Mobile it prefers VoLTE, on sprint, if you have a 1x800 signal, I think it falls back to circuit switched network. So no going from 1x800 to VoLTE. When I'm on WiFi, on the stock dialer, it will say "Calling via {WiFi Network Name}, then will transition to VoLTE if you leave coverage. So it leads me to believe it's using T-Mobile's VoLTE service. As an aside, My phone really prefers T-Mobile here. I switched to "Next Carrier" on my phone to Sprint, and after a reboot to get my SCP to work, it went back to T-Mobile, and screwed my SCP again, leading me to reboot again. Hmmmm...
  11. From what I can tell, it leaves your phone in automatic switching mode but just shunts it over to the next network. As for the dialer codes, I don't see anywhere in the settings that allows the same functionality as the dialer codes. I'm assuming they're only for testing so will probably use that disclaimer. 12. I was just on T-Mobile and did the manual switch to Sprint and scp gave me the initial reading but froze like this: Sent from my Nexus 6 using Tapatalk
  13. That's a great question and it presents one I need to present to Mike. When I stay on a single network it populates just like before, but when it switches the measurements freeze and I have to reboot the phone to get it to work properly. But other than that, it seems to be business as usual with scp. All data enters as before. Sent from my Nexus 6 using Tapatalk
  14. The switching feature is really nice...And if anyone is interested for the codes, they are as follows: *#*#34866#*#* - Switch to T-Mobile Network *#*#34777#*#* - Switch to Sprint *#*#346398#*#* - Switch to the Next Carrier *#*#342886#*#* - Switch back to automatic carrier switching *#*#34963#*#* - Initiates an Automatic fix. (I've found this is the equivalent to doing a reprogram or SCRTN). *#*#344636#*#* - Displays Network Information. **Dialer codes Courtesy of minlite from Reddit.com/r/projectfi** So if you have FI and want to use the codes, there you go!
  15. Actually it is quite excellent and supplements Sprint in many areas. When I'm at home, T-Mobile is the better carrier, when I'm at work Sprint is good. Having Fi is great to be able to switch between the two. However I have noticed I'm on T-Mobile more. A nice feature that I found on the reddits (lol) is there are dialer codes to choose between the networks or back to auto. I've had to manually switch to Sprint because T-Mobile is so strong around here. So I have yet to see the automatic switch. Sent from my Nexus 6 using Tapatalk
  16. I am jumping from Sprint to Fi officially tonight...After speaking with Sprint Exec Care, they did a network assessment of the area, found that coverage is poor in several places and they don't have plans to upgrade within the next year. Sprint support has been excellent through the process and is letting me leave with no fees, and I'm returning my tablet. They are also letting me keep the Nexus 6 to use with Fi, and canceling my payments. Amazing. I will definitely be back if the network improves. Customer service is awesome! but I can still track Sprint with Fi as it uses sprint, and I can even set the phone to only use Sprint or T-Mobile...pretty nice...Anyways, just my two cents! Looking forward to the Fi Ride!
