  1. my setup works almost perfect, here is something you can try, if you are having problems. 1. first, you don't need a GV# to set this up the integration. it's okay if you do, you just don't need one. 2. call sprint an ask them to add Google Voice integration on your number. 3. After Sprint says they have added GV Integration, log into your sprint account from a computer to verify that it shows GV Integration. 4. From your smartphone, go to settings and Update Profile. 5. login to your Gmail account. 6. go to Google.com/Voice and try the GV Sprint Integration. this process worked for all five of my Sprint lines. I can't promise it will work, because perhaps the new Sprint plans don't support GV. Sent from my SCH-I545 using Tapatalk
  2. don't get me wrong. Google Voice moving to Hangouts is a good idea, but... why is it updated so much... BUG FIXES. :-) I watch for Hangout updates.. once I see that the update has been I released, I install it and give it a try. it always fails! the last update from 2 days ago... hangs up when I search for my contacts. the Hangouts Dialer... always shows a message indicating I need to update Hangouts to the current version, even though I have updated to the latest versions. Bottom line.. Hangouts is NOT ready to replace Google Voice. I work in IT... in the tech world...SOMETIMES... "If it Ain't broke, don't fix it." :-) Yes, the old Google Voice is old and visually unappealing. But for me... it works Perfect! I won't switch to Hangouts until all the bugs are fixed and/or I am forced to by Google, when ever they retire the old App. Sent from my SCH-I545 using Tapatalk
  3. I don't get why this Google Hangouts is such a big deal. I have had Sprint/GV integration since it's launch in 2011 (it could be 2010) and I use my Sprint number on my Verizon Galaxy S4 and my AT&T iPhone. I use the Google Voice app on both of those smartphones to make and receive calls from my Sprint number on my Verizon and AT&T phone. It works flawlessly. I can send and receive text messages from my Sprint number using the Google Voice app as well. Once I add the random GV# that is tagged to each GV call/text to the appropriate contact, I can use my stock messaging app from my Verizon S4 and AT&T iPhone for texts without issues. Again, I have used this setup for 3+ years, it works perfect about 98% of the time. Google Hangouts is poorly written, unstable, and highly overrated. My two cents.
  4. HD Voice Icon support... does that mean what I think... When we are making a phone call we will get a icon on notification bar indicating we are making a call in HD Voice?
  5. Latest Spark Speed Test in Kansas City area. This was done tonight at off peak time, but still pretty dang fast.
  6. Mine too. The network where I live is very fast. I constantly use Sensorly and Rootmetrics to report my signal and data speed. Want to demonstrate all the anti-sprint people that Sprint is making big strides in their network. Attached is a speed test I did with Sensorly.

You might call Sprint..or try update your profile. It sounds like your account is not provisioned for WiFi calling. When you login to your account, does WiFi calling appear as a feature?

    Wifi calling

Were you using your Vonage phone at the very moments you experienced your WiFi calling going out? Probably not. Trust me... I am an IT guy at my job...implemented a VoIP Phone system a few years ago... phone quality is predicated on the reliability and speed of your Internet connection. I have used WiFi calling since it was available on my 720T in April... there were times that the other party recognizes a delay or static, but understand..... that is the nature of the VoIP beast. Each person is different, but I look at WiFi calling from Sprint on my S4 as an added benefit and it isn't going to be perfect. Sprint certainly didn't have to implement WiFi calling, but they are trying to enhance their in building service quality and stay competitive. I can say this... WiFi is available almost anywhere where. I travel or visit... with WiFi calling... I am NEVER without phone service. My thoughts..

    Wifi calling

WiFi Calling doesn't work like that. It's VoIP and uses Data to make the calls and send the texts, thats why it isn't charged against your plan minutes. Since you and your wife experience WiFi Calling issues at the same time, more than likely it is your data connection is the problem. WiFi calling is designed to suppliment your coverage when your Sprint phone is in low signal areas. Albeit WiFi calling works, people need to realize it is not perfect and if you have a bad or slow Internet connection your WiFi Calling experience will not be the best. Personally, I only turn it on when I am stationary and know that I am in a low signal area. My two cents..

    Wifi calling

Can't speak for the Nexus 5 but I do have WiFi Calling on my Galaxy S4. No the WiFi calling doesn't count against your minutes. They are counted desperate.... I can see the break down on my bill and online. FYI.. I am am on the 1500min Family Data Plan as well.
  12. Do you have a non-smartphone that you can temporarily activate to see if it's the Sprint Google voice integration? Or is it the relay to the 2nd phone? What is your 2nd phone that you are forwarding calls too and what is the carrier?

My son has an iphone 5, and he doesnt have any issues with connecting. However, if you disable 4G when you are home, thst should lock into your Airave.. Go to settings/cellular...then disable LTE with slide bar, reboot and iphone should lock into Airave.

    What's wrong with Airave?
  15. If you look at the size of the pre installed apps...most are very small and once you launch, they get downloaded from the play store or in samsungs case, their store. Yes, some apps you can't remove and don't care to have on your phone, but I am sticking to my guns,..rooting causes too many problems that I don't care to deal with and removing bloat wear is overrated. Bottom line, I want my phone to work all the time. Rooting makes my phone unstable. But..to each his/her own.
  16. Now days removing bloat wear is overrated. Many carriers realize customers dont like that crap and keep bloat wear to the minimum. Also, with the newer versions of Android you can diable most unwanted applications.
  17. Just curious.. why do you feel the need to root? I have rooted many Androids and Jailbroke many iPhones and iPads..inevitability I wipe and reset to stock. :-) If you root and jailbreak.. be prepared for frustration at times. Battery life.. app incompatibility because of root or jailbreak.. random crashes...malware vulnerability.. hacker vulnerability.. etc.. etc..

  19. I turn wifi callng off, unless know i will be stationary for a while and know i am bad signal area.. The newness wore out for me.. Its a great feature, but since i am a strong Spark city... my in-building signal is so much better. Sent from my SPH-L720T using Tapatalk
  20. Yeah, i will keep my kids on Sprint for unlimited data, they steam lots of music. Each kid uses 3+ gig a month of data. I thought you could change the settings on thr fly and connect to Verizon towers when ever you wanted. I guess i miss understood. Sent from my SPH-L720T using Tapatalk
  21. Post a screen shot of your settings or email me what you did at teeitupmo@gmail.com. I have poor Sprint coverage at home so i use airave and now wifi callng. But Verizon has 5 bars where i live.. Would love to use their towers for voice and data Sent from my SPH-L720T using Tapatalk
  22. Are you using Verizon towers now? Sent from my SPH-L720T using Tapatalk
  23. If you are in a Spark city, this is the speed you should be looking for: Sent from my SPH-L720T using Tapatalk
  24. Good deal. You will enjoy the 720T, great device and paying 1 cent makes it all that much sweeter. Sent from my SPH-L720T using Tapatalk
