  1. Well, the business model would work because you have other users that don't use even 2GB per month and heavy users make up the difference. We should get away from the thought that these poor companies do us a favor and we should be blessed to pay an arm and a leg for their service. Have you ever looked at Japan? They pay less and have higher speeds too. They offered a service for a price and their calculation includes heavy users like myself but there is no alternative if you have no DSL, Cable etc available
  2. AT&T's LTE network impaired by salon's fluorescent light By Tammy Parker AT&T's (NYSE:T) cellular network has faced myriad challenges over the years, such as the overwhelming capacity crunch that hit when Apple's (NASDAQ:AAPL) first iPhone rolled out. But the latest threat to AT&T's network is particularly illuminating, because the problem is being caused by a common fluorescent light fixture. The fixture is located inside the Perfect Cuts Salon in a San Antonio, Texas, strip mall. By simply flicking the salon's lights on and off...
  3. LOL, even Searchlight got better coverage compared to Henderson and yes, Clear is currently a good provider and I am happy to have them around. Lets see what will happen and if I can remain home and continue to work remotely or if I have to drive to the office for work which would not be as much fun.
  4. The real problem is that rural areas are not well covered and that wireless is the only solution. But some people actually work mobile and we should not be treated like outcast because we can't get real broadband. My neighbor got a Dish and he is so unhappy about their service and TWC decided not to build out in our area or provide cable.
  5. That is true but I am sure Sprint is not making big changes to Clear's service before they shut down service in 2015
  6. Well Clear has been nice and accepting of my hunger since 2009 and I am sure they will not change their mind anytime soon.
  7. So show me a better alternative? There is none and I pay for two devices so consider 300GB per device which is what I can find online pretty standard for Clear in some areas. Why should I throttle my usage, have Clear provide more capacity.
  8. Why is usage abuse? I have no better alternative available in my area and I work from home and in my line of work, we have to transfer a lot of data. Clear offered a service and I have two devices running and balance the load between private and business and I am sure a lot of people use a lot more and why not. I am paying for their service and Clear has never complained since 2009! So if Clear stops offering WiMax service, I will have to move my office into the city because there is no other broadband available.
  9. Nope and I am happy with having no cable, no satellite yet still being able to access the Internet at free terms. Okay, WiMax will be gone in 2015 but until that time, I remain hopefully a happy Clear(Sprint) customer
  10. I burn about 500-600GB spread over two devices. One is for the family incl. Smart TV and one is for the Home Office. We don't have cable or Satellite TV and we stream everything especially since local TV is not the best in my area.
  11. That is not correct, that is the speed you can expect but I am pulling between 4-12 down and 1.6 up every day. Okay my tower is close but pretty full and Clear will no longer activate in this area because the tower is full.
  12. My old $37.50 plan will not change as long I maintain it. If I fail to pay or go on a vacation hold, I can get only the $54.99 plan back
  13. I am using Clear everyday and I am really happy with their service and I would be real sad to see them go. Sprint should allow current Sprint customers to maintain their accounts on a future 2.5/2.6GHz LTE network only since they have the capacity. Clear had only about 1.3 million subs and not everyone is leaching huge amounts of data.
