  1. I'm surprised at how much different the M8 is V. the S3. I work on a boat and as was able to hold a usable 3G signal much better and farther than the S3. Also it was much more responsive. I got 16 hrs out of the battery with decent usage so I'm happy with that. One thing I've noticed with both the M8 and S3 is that LTE doesn't travel anywhere near as far as 3G. Even only 2 miles out which is about the distance to a tower my phone stays on 3G. Tonight I was able to get a usable 3G signal 10 miles from shore. Also it never went to 1x800 but I don't think the towers I was connected to have it yet. Overall happy so far with the performance.
  2. so I got my M8 yesterday and got a 1x800 call right at the tower in Myrtle Beach but this morning I was right at the tower in Little River where I work and it used 1900 and this tower was one of the first in the area to get 1x800. I know the network can decide so I'm going with that but then I did a test. I went to the fringe area between 2 towers know to have 1x800 and it still connected to a horrible 1900 signal. I was watching the signal on signal check and as soon as it went to 1x800 I immediately made a phone call and it connected to the horrible 1900 signal. Anyone one experience this? I know they havent finished the upgrades in the area yet but theses 2 towers have been live for 3 months or so, not sure if that will have an effect or not. What's your experience with 1x800 in fringe areas? On a side note When I drove by a non upgraded site my phone didn't pick up the tower but today it did normally.
  3. On signal check it doesn't display anything for 1x while on LTE but when I received a call right by a tower signal check showed 1x800 at almost full strength but it said (connecting) next to it when normally it would say "connected" it still appears to be 1x800 I guess it's just a little different on the app v. S3 although the tower is not 1x800 yet according to the maps but that could not be up to date.
  4. Heading to the store now to buy one! Hope they have it in Stock
  5. I love the stuff they come up with sometimes, I just look at them funny and say hmm.. I know more than they do and I don't even work for sprint. About a month ago I was at a sprint store and explained to the guy that my service was on the fringe and spotty where I live and asked him if he knew when they were going to turn on 800 and he had no clue what that was and said they are turning on LTE all over so your service will get better there. LOL
  6. I'm curious to know how the M8 holds on to the 1x800 signal. I currently have a GS3 and it continuously swaps back and forth from 1x800 to an unusable 1900 signal and therefore making the 1x800 signal useless to me when I really need it as I'm in bad areas a lot. I plan on ordering the M8 tomorrow but I would like to know this first. Also if your on 1900 will it swap to 1x800 during a call?
  7. Even my S3 and Tab3 I have to toggle to get LTE back. my S3 is almost useless now because the power button internally keeps sticking so I'm going to order the M8
  8. anyone root this yet? does it need to be rooted?
  9. Sorry for the delay. The Mineola ave Little River SC did go live with LTE and 1x800 at the same time.
  10. Site on Mineola ave in Little River SC had LTE turned on today at 8am when I got to work I had it and now it's gone so I'm sure they are tweeking it. I went by site about 4pm mon and no crews but a dirt loader was there so I assume they did some work. No crews were there at 8 am today. Here is my speedtest from my short LTE experience.
  11. I bought a tab3 in November and it's always had some connection issues. The 3g or 4g will sometimes drop out even a quarter mile from a tower and sometimes it will not come back right away and I'll have to turn airplane mode on and off for it to come back only for it to randomly do it again. Does anyone have a fix or an idea about this. This tablet is stock and not rooted.
  12. I wish I didn't do the 4.3 as they took flash off of it. I use to be able to play games via a browser and now I can't because of this and downloading adobe flash isn't stable to play as it crashes the browser. Also I've noticed on my s3 and tab 3 that the Internet cuts out when I have a good signal since I went to 4.3 I'll go to kitkat now and hope that will improve.
  13. I can't wait to find out. We don't have any 800 yet in the Myrtle Beach area but hopefully soon. There are several towers near the coast so we will see what happens. I'll report back my results when we get some towers live.
  14. I'm hoping to beat att distance so I can rub it in the face of the att lovers that go far on the water but not good on land
  15. Does anyone have any idea on a usable distance increase with 800? I work on a boat and go in the ocean sometimes 12 or so miles out. Att works pretty much as far as we go out voice and data but sprint will only go about 7 or 8 miles and that varies. Keep in mind that there are no obstructions to block the signal.
