  1. Meanwhile, I still have 3 lines of unlimited with 2 S8 easy pay (or whatever they call it at TMO) with the One Plus promo attached for $125/month.

    2 +1 free

    20% Hookup discount

Nobody can really touch that right now, and where I live, work, and play T-Mobile works as well as Sprint and better than Verizon.

  2. If they wanted to, I guess they could purchase Freedom Mobile and any one of the smaller "regional" carriers that cover a single province like Vidéotron (Quebec), Sasktel (Saskatchewan), Ice Wireless (Yukon and Northwest Territories), Eastlink (Nova Scotia and Prince Edward Island), etc.

The problem likely isn't price since they're all pretty small, it's that there is a huge barrier to entry.

    ...

I believe the bigger barrier is the Canadian big 3 lobby, Bell especially. There was a bit of a hullabaloo a few years ago when Verizon considered bidding for Mobilicity and some Canadian frequencies.

  3. There's actually a "back button" in Safari. Swipe right from the left side of the screen.

To go "forward", swipe left from the right side of the screen.

Lots of individual apps have back buttons or gestures, but usually they're in the top left corner of the phone. With the Plus models of iPhones it's a tough reach, and you have to resort to double tapping the home button to reach or using 2 hands. It's the permanent back button--software, capacitive, or clicky-- that irks me.

  4. lol. so, in other words, the back button is not really a concern for you.  I have 2 lines on IOS already and they seem to love it more than Android.  The back button never seemed to be an issue for anyone in my family that uses IOS.

It's a concern because I have an iPhone for work, and it's my #1 problem with the platform. There are other features on Android that I like that makes me prefer it for my personal phone, and when I'm up for upgrade at work in a couple of months I'll be picking the Pixel or a Note 8 (if the Note 8 is offered).

  5. ...

The reason for me leaving T-Mobile though is the same as when I announced it some weeks ago, being that I can't manage the Digits service with my Lumia.

    ...

So you'll leave T-Mobile for not supporting one of their services on your device for a network that doesn't offer the service at all? I mean, it's your money, but it sounds like cutting off your nose to spite your face.

  6. Now for my own comments regarding this, while I think this is a good thing, I'd rather these increases be in 5gb increases, such as 35, 40, 45, etc. To me at least, its easier to keep track of. I know T-Mobile sends usage reminders, so I'm not really complaining about it, just stating my preference.

I don't think it really matters, it's just nice that they actually raised it. I'd be much happier if they'd up the kickback threshold since the wifi at my work is garbage.
