Love it! Looks like I drove through Eau Claire a month too early!

(UPDATED) Sprint-USCC spectrum deal: Sprint gets 20 MHz broader in the "City of Broad Shoulders"
in The Wall
A group blog by The Wall Editors in General
Chaitu, probably not in the short term. If they need more LTE bandwidth they will likely add another 5x5. Unless your phone uses carrier aggregation, the speeds will stay around 25 at good signal.

Sprint Marketing Updates 4G LTE City List where work is under way and adds 20 more

Was eating my lunch around Compton/Paramount, CA and noticed the 4g signal. Did some tests and highest I got was 10.37Mbs down and 7.95Mbs up. Hoping to see faster speeds as launch is officially announced.
You were just not that close to the tower. If you take your lunch to go and walk towards the tower things will speed up.
Also 10.37 Mbps seems pretty fast to me, for a phone. I'd be pretty happy with that. Oh and 4g has not launched yet in California. They are just starting to allow access to the first 4g towers. You were lucky to find one.

NewCo needs to drop some of the PCS from MetroPCS

I think T-Mobile would try to hold on to 40MHz, so giving up 10 in Sacramento might be a tough sell.

Sprint should take those 2.5MHz in Orlando too! Great article as always AJ!

A Win for the Midrange: Samsung Galaxy Victory OET Review

Hopefully it drops to free asap on Amazon. The SIII is $150 on Amazon for existing subscribers right now and probably worth an extra $100-$150 over this phone, not $50.
I'm really considering this phone and might pick it up when it becomes free.

EDITORIAL: C'mon people, you really do want access to the LTE network early, right?
in The Wall

@DetroitFlyer, you seem disconnected with the article contents. What's this got to do with Wimax? Detroit?
This site seems to have plenty of information available to a Sprint customer living in Detroit, it's made clear when they think Detroit will get LTE / 3g enhancements (not yet, but beginning later in the fall through next year)
There have been articles and forum posts up the wazoo that tell exactly how Sprint will be deploying LTE and 3g enhancements from backhaul to radio units, etc. and the performance to expect.
I would think that information would be pretty valuable to a Sprint customer living in Detroit. Honestly, you could make an informed decision right now about whether it's worth waiting for Sprint Network Vision, instead of complaining on Sprint "fanboy" sites.

This article will probably get 100 comments! I bought my OG EVO day one because it came with that Snapdragon and not that 525mhz piece of junk. I knew I wouldn't turn the Wimax on.
More on topic, you probably wont get sympathy if you are in a launch market. Most of us are like, "You get to drive a couple blocks to test out this new toy, awesome! You should go test it and tell us how fast it goes, and don't forget to take pictures of the tower!"
Sprint is not leaving these markets with 20-40% coverage. As Robert has stated many of these markets get 6-12 towers completed every week with the pace increasing. Tomorrow morning you could wake up with 4 bars of LTE, and deep down you know it, especially if you've read the articles.
Other than the haters coming out of the woodwork, I find this network renovation amazing on a grand scale.
Sprint should really close comments on their Facebook page though

Sprint LTE is now discoverable in the Kansas market
in The Wall
A group blog by The Wall Editors in General
I find it somewhat amazing that this is the article that gets all the attention, I guess being first to report what can be confirmed means a lot. As others have said, maybe they'll start trusting your info when the cities start coming online in the order and time frame that you predicted months in advance.
Nice job S4GRU! You've got the best articles and the most knowledgeable community about this network, and today proves it once again.

No it's not. Any tower completed in the Kansas market with LTE is discoverable now, whereas before it was blocked. Most all of them just happen to be in Kansas City at the moment.

Minnesota Network Vision/LTE Deployment schedule update
in The Wall
A group blog by The Wall Editors in General
Is 94 all the way to the dells upgraded with Mn? I thought the south wisco market was further up i94? They must want seemless handoffs and good coverage for interstate travelers. I'm cool with that. Currently dropped calls and crappy data riddle that freeway.

Minnesota Network Vision/LTE Deployment schedule update

Thank for you very much for this update! I did not expect them to start mobilizing as early as August. This is great news! Should be a fun year up there. I can't wait to go scope out completed sites.
Hopefully those subcontractors don't get too cold this winter. Seems like a dangerous time to deploy NV.

Not sure why I'm so negative on this. I think public opinion on Sprint has me down.

Sprint will be happy when this market is finished. That includes the loop. It's going to be funny/sad frustrating when they "launch" LTE in Chicago and the closer you get to the city, the worse your 4g/3g will be.

Sprint intentionally blocking new LTE devices from accessing live LTE sites
in The Wall
A group blog by The Wall Editors in General
Where are all of these new Iphone users going to come from? I keep thinking we are pretty close to saturation / people sticking with the carrier they are happiest with. I doubt people will switch to Sprint unless 1. their marketing department convinces everyone of Network Vision, or 2. Network Vision sells itself and goes viral

Sprint battling Network Vision deployment woes in the Windy City
in The Wall
A group blog by The Wall Editors in General
I wouldn't say it sucks to be in Chicago, just because of these handoff issues. They are one of the first markets to get Network Vision, which is awesome! Plus this issue shouldn't affect the same people for more than a couple weeks as Network Vision is deployed, like the article says.
It's a hiccup, but one I'd be willing to endure in my market to get Network Vision delivered so early.

Spectrum Shortages - Why it's happening and what can be done
in The Wall
A group blog by The Wall Editors in General
One additional note about comments on Clearwire and Lightsquared not using all their spectrum. That's a little misleading by the comments of those officials. Not all spectrum is the same. 2600 sucks. Clearwire can't build out a nationwide network on that frequency as pointed out by earlier articles. and Lightsquared is screwed unless miraculously they get a spectrum swap deal.

This would be a great topic for an S4GRU article. Especially to clear up that this is 1X-A and not VoLTE. Also maybe something speculating how this could tie in to VoLTE in the future, although I think i've seen VoLTE articles or discussion here before.

Samsung Network Vision/LTE Deployment schedule & details for Sprint's Chicago Market

Would love to see some of this spread into Madison, WI. Seeing as we only have about 10 tours in town, it shouldn't take long. I think there are more Nextel Towers up here. I would like to see most all of them repurposed to Sprint CDMA/LTE except where redundant.

Eau Claire is part of the Minnesota market and is an important part of the Minnesota market to get upgraded, along 94 where the tower spacing is maxed out. I expect once the southern Wisconsin market starts that along 90/94 to Illinois will be some of the first sites upgraded.
