Sounds like the consultants suggested shutting down the CDMA network.Sounds like it was a good idea to ignore most of it.
This article is paywalled, but there's a Denver Post version which is viewable: http://www.denverpost.com/business/ci_29299661/sprint-paid-big-advice-from-sol-trujillo-but
Sounds like this contract made Son get more involved, which is a good thing in the end.
What technology were the consultants advocating shutting down? Seems like the consultants and Miyakawa were at odds on something. What was it?

It won't be any different than the existing chat system they have in their site, except FB messenger has a better interface and is mobile friendly.Sprint to use Facebook Messenger for customer service
Either this will go very well... or it won't go well at all.

While that is good, I never understood why run a speed test on roaming. That's 30 megabytes minimum which could be anywhere from 10-30% of your roaming allotment. Just keep that in mind.

I had this bug on my Nexus 5 on both lollipop and marshmallow, after a minute it would regrab the LTE or Ev-Do signal.I'm having the same issue with my Nexus 6 on Project Fi. But not having the issue on my Nexus 5 on Marshmallow. It's just fine on the N5. For me, it just seems to be the Nexus 6. But for me it started even before the Marshmallow update. It started with the November update on Lollipop.

Does A restart fix it? I had that problem with my Nexus 5. It was a broken camera module.i think my camera may be broken. im not sure if this happened after i installed 6.1 the othe rnight or if it was going on before update but as you can see, nothing happens. my photos dont show up at the bottom right, the shutter button stays grayed out and the option to swap cameras is also grayed out. Anyone have an idea?

Since when did this become the T-mobile thread?

Omaha is a great example of that, T-Mobile doesn't even sell service in that market (now I know you're well aware of that, AJ) so a comparison to uscc would be much more informative.

I upgraded to a Note 5 a month ago. I keep forgetting to change thatIf you're using the Nexus 5 you have listed in your profile, then you will not get USCC LTE in their Band 12 only areas. N5 does not do B12 LTE.

This has been in place for about 3 months now, I encountered it trying to upgrade on my family plan. The account holder can make you a temporary holder online and then they'll upgrade you.According to reddit, Sprint has stopped allowing authorized users to upgrade in store, account holder now required.
Thats bad news

Sprint must not have quite enabled this yet. I just went through western Illinois and haven't gotten any LTE on uscc, only 3G

Sprint works for me when I'm home great. But there's no doubt when I leave the interstates in Iowa for occasional weeks on rural jobs, I turn on my work phone mobile hotspot to keep me from going over the cap.And that type of situation is what the last sentence in my post was directed towards. Here in Omaha we are in a great situation to benefit from the US Cellular Roaming deal (look at the coverage map for why). However, I don't and still wouldn't recommend Sprint to friends or family that regularly travel to smaller cities for work. If you find yourself hitting or coming close to hitting the roaming cap "all the time" to me that is a sign you need a different carrier.
Echoing AJ, 300 MB is 300 MB. I tried showed how much "regular" stuff you could do with 300 MB in a week assuming vacation usage. LTE just lets you accomplish those tasks quicker.
-
Yes, it does.Wait so the phone will say extended when you're on Roaming+?
-
US cellular 3G roaming has been available to Sprint customers for a few months now. It's just regular roaming.

Works like any other tri-band phone. If you have LTE in the area, it won't grab your air-rave unless you're in 3G only mode.Anyone using the 5x with an Airave? Waiting for mine to arrive and just started to worry that this may be an issue. This is my first Nexus device. I have very low signal right at my house and the Airave is a must since wifi calling is out.

Except there is no area that Verizon is treated as native. So it could easily be a similar error. That's exactly what mine looked like too. I traveled from near Ames to Cedar Rapids on US-30 then across northern Iowa from Waterloo to Minnesota just southeast of Albert Lea. When I was connected to US Cellular SignalCheck looks just like your screenshot.

With Sprint doing away with the spark icon, that differentiation no longer applies, unfortunately. With the move to stock Android indicators, it's just a triangle for everything. However that is proof that such a system could be implemented. Either that or have Sprint enter a deal with Mike to make his app a default pre loaded app on all Sprint phonesThe roaming indicator appears over the signal level indicator, not over the 3G/4G icons. There are plenty of images in the nTelos thread from before the past week showing the nTelos LTE service as LTE roaming.
EDIT: Guess it depends on whether you have the spinning spark or not, but here's a picture: http://s4gru.com/index.php?/topic/4897-lte-ntelos-west-virginia-nw-virginia-shentel-network-vision-soon%E2%84%A2/page-74?p=443043&do=findComment&comment=443043

I do not believe Android has a provision built in to show lte roaming versus regular roaming, I believe it's all the same triangle. So without something like signal check pro, it would be hard for the consumer to see if they're on lte or not.If they were to do no LTE roaming on Verizon, then couldn't they say there's a lower cap on 3G roaming (where Verizon is available) and a higher cap on LTE roaming where Verizon is not available? Or would that be too confusing?

I'd more guess that this basically allows Sprint to roam 1x and Ev-Do for no cost on the US cellular network. So it would save Sprint some expenses.Id guess that unless there is a reciprocity agreement that neither costs Sprint additional quarterly expenditure or reduces its roaming revenue, its just not an option in this era of cost cutting and penny pinching. Maybe when sprint has less revenue strain, but not now

It's entirely possible that there's no reciprocity. Sprint may have just offered the lowest cost to uscc for roaming.

Anyone else seeing massive battery drain from signal check? I have the Pro edition on the galaxy Note 5, and it's showing 23-25% battery usage.

Can this cut you rate in half be done at a best buy too? Or just Sprint stores?

I notice he showed up again on T4GRU yesterday.2 weeks ago. And by he I'm thinking someone at FW. 30 days of its posts were removed, so someone at FW got pissed or fed up. That looks like a ban. (Look at the comments on articles from ~October to verify).
It's obviously not moderated much if any. Even worse, it's like a dodgeball match when it gets heated and they do nothing (unless I'm wrong but I rarely ever visit HF).
Anyone know some brief history on that site?

Ookla doesn't recognize CA on all its servers, so there's a possibly that's the problem.Anyone knows if 2x CA is working on their Moto X Pure? I just updated my Signal Check pro app and it shows when I'm on 2x CA...but the speeds NEVER go over 78mbps no matter how perfect the conditions and my signal is...

Yes, but LTE roaming with Sprint or T-Mobile? Obviously I would like Sprint to strike a LTE deal with USCC.I too think it's coming.
