Android has a new glitch that reports both even though they're not both connected.

Google has this phone on sale for a really good price. How is it on Sprint? Have it's kinks been worked out?
-
I think he was referring to others having been charged as non-native roaming. It's possible that sprint isn't fixing the newly native coverage until their bills reset.Roaming usage typically shows up on my account within 48 hours of the time it was used. I have had a few occurrences where it has taken longer on Commnet. But I don't think it has ever been more than 5 days.

The real question is, has Sprint's system caught up yet, to not count that to your roaming cap as others have reported? It felt pretty snappy. I wonder if I had tried different servers if ping would have been better. I didn't think about it at the time.

You might roam on uscc but it will be off network data and subject to the regular cap.Going to USCC NC territory this weekend. So should expect 3G roaming?
I'm on $60 unlimited data. Will I get more than a 100MB roaming bucket on USCC and is Sprint pretty anal about charging after the bucket is depleted?

Sounds like Sprint flipped the 3G coverage of their rrpp partners to native coverage (the ones that have CDMA networks). Anyone seen if Pioneer became pseudo native again?

My roommate complained loudly, so VZW switched out his Nexus 6 for a Note 4 (A poor deal for him, IMO, but it was his choice since he was in the first week of his contract). The Droid Turbo is one of the best phones on the market, covered in negative reviews because of its lack of svlte. So they're out there complaining. Does Verizon care? No, it's not going to change and people will adjust. Most new VZW devices these days seem to be single RF path with e/CSFB. They explicitly no longer have hardware support for SVLTE nor for SVDO. The VZW variant Samsung Galaxy S6, for example, falls into this category. VZW now relies upon VoLTE for simultaneous voice and data. But many users turn off VoLTE, are even instructed to turn of VoLTE -- because the LTE coverage is just not sufficiently reliable.
That puts VZW in the same boat as Sprint, yet I do not hear of VZW users complaining about the lack/loss of simultaneous voice and data. And that is probably because those who require or even know about simultaneous voice and data are such edge cases, though they whine to high heaven and make simultaneous voice and data out to be something that everyone needs.

The Note 4 was the last flagship device to have the capability on VZW.I didn't realize VZW had made that switch now. Guess I should be paying more attention given what I do. But I guess it bolsters my point, all things considered.

So did the new PRL update just turn that native?

Well, I guess my next phone won't be a Nexus, while I enjoy pure Android, we miss out on carrier fun stuff like this and WiFi calling. Or are we aware of any way to connect that does not required the sprint connection optimizer? Most Android devices (if not all) can use the Boingo WiFi. The Sprint Connection Optimizer is going to delect it for you automatically in Android.
-
If it uses the Sprint connection optimizer, then it's a bummer for us Nexus owners.

The 5.1 update changed it to always showing 3G on ev-do or 1x. So a recent change.Perhaps, although I have never noticed it before. Usually (on the N6, I can't remember on all the others I've had) the signal indicator will have an "!" instead of the 3g.
I have never seen 3g indicated when I was not actually receiving a 3g signal on this device. I will admit I could have missed it before and only noticed then because things have been wonky lately.
-
Nexus devices now show 3G for everything, 1X and ev-do.Am I the only one who's having issues within Charlottesville today. Nexus 6 shows 3g but signal check showed only 1xRTT. Had to toggle airplane mode to pull 3g back. I know its not the device...

The small carriers have had LTE roaming on sprint for a while. What's holding up Sprint is that a lot of these CCA carriers don't have accessible LTE networks of their own (or are LTEira) so Sprint has nothing to roam on.

I fail. I meant my local Radio Shack store. This is Radio Shack store. Not about existing Sprint Store
-
Oddly my local radio shack store is not on the closure list or the remaining list.
-
Being that these are near Bozemon they might have kept them operational if they where full builds to cut down roaming costs.
-
Do you think these sites would still be operational to connect to?Great find! The dates work well with the B26 FIT.
-
Agreed, here in Iowa uscc is more expensive and capped. If they had full reciprocal roaming there would be no reason to go to uscc because you would get the better coverage for cheaper. The only reason I could see for uscc doing reciprocal roaming is so their existing customers can get nationwide LTE.I do not expect that -- because I do not think USCC will overlay Sprint spectrum. USCC is already set in that regard. Plus, reciprocal "unlimited" could be commercial suicide for USCC, siphoning off subs like Sprke over to Sprint.

The LTE data here in Burlington is being spotty too. B26 doesn't want to connect anymore and when it does there's no data.
-
How's the coverage at Disney world?
-
Buyout isn't going to happen anytime soon. Uscc has repeatedly said they aren't on the market. But an rrpp partnership would make a buyout seem like much less of a necessity. And next step is a USCC buyout aka ntelos buyout?

Basically DT is hoping someone with deeper pockets will come along and bid for T-Mobile with a better offer. Hence the hope for Comcast.
