Just a quick question: isn't NV supposed to be completed by Q4 2013? I thought I heard that announced during some Sprint investors call. -

With the Viper set to be released on April 22nd, don't you think now is the time for Sprint to start releasing official 4G LTE coverage maps? I mean you would think that they want customers to know where the network is and where it is going. If they had a simple map that showed where LTE will be at release and where it will be within 3 months and 6 months, then customers would know when they should upgrade. I feel like they are setting themselves up for a lot of complaints when they release the phone and most of the users realize they do not have 4G LTE, or worse yet people that have 4G WiMAX and upgrade to 4G LTE only to realize they do not have it yet. This site has done wonders so I know what to expect, but the average customer I think will be upset by being kept in the dark. Thoughts?

While Sprint does have a lot of fees, they are still no where near Verizon. Our $252 Sprint plan has two 4G phones, two iPhones, and one feature phone. A similar plan with Verizon would cost well over $300 a month. I love Verizon FiOS, but clearly Verizon Wireless is starting to get out of control. I have many friends that are thinking of Sprint, since I said the network will be brand new within two years. Already with the upgrades my 3G speed is much better. They still struggle on the rush hour commute home via Metro North trains, but overall we are very happy with Sprint.

Yeah both my wife's and mine went down. It is weird. It comes and it goes. I may call and complain soon because it is a pain especially when you are not even moving or touching the phone and the radio stops.

Cross street is Circuit Ave and Columbus Ave in Tuckahoe. I believe it is the building owned by the tower club. -

One has to realize that all that is out there is speculation. While I am rooting for Sprint they have a huge uphill battle to fight because of years of terrible planning. Sprint definitely needs to become profitable very soon (as they have had an operational deficit now for quite some time). However the investment research group Zacks still maintains a neutral feeling on Sprint for the long term and the average target price of Sprint stock is $3.62. I am a firm believer that if NV is successful then Sprint will be successful. If NV is completed and still does not bring the network up to the levels put forth by Verizon and AT&T then that will spell trouble. I would like to reiterate though, I have used some upgraded sites and I think NV will be highly successful and turn Sprint around. -
While running last night I noticed that on top of one of the buildings in the 10707 zip had new cell panels. I know they are new because the old ones were still up and are painted red to look like brick. I do not know if they are NV related improvements, but suddenly my 3G has gone from sub 200kbps to averaging around 1.2Mbps. Next time I am out will try to get a good shot of them, although they are about 6-7 stories up and I can't get too close. A few weeks ago I did see a crane hoisting equipment up to a different building in the area. For all I know it could be one of the other carriers, but I suspect not.
