  1. I think of a pico cell as being something like an airave, which covers a smaller area. But I suppose it could be considered a type of small cell.

There are one or two pico sites that have been accepted and labeled as such and there is at least one small cell site on the map too. I figure they might be synonyms but I am not sure.

  2. That will really hurt Sprint in the long run and can't they do microwave hops

They have over the last 6 months set up (or in the process of setting it up) microwave backhaul on many of the sites below the canal that haven't yet received LTE. As mentioned almost all of them are rural (and GMOs). So far (in DE) there aren't any GMO LTE sites.

The biggest problem area (as far as perception goes) are the sites at the beach. There is LTE in Lewes, DE and Ocean City, MD but nothing in between along the coast there.

  3. I believe so ! When i contacted the higher executive team.. they said everything as far as maintenance/optimization is handle by Ericsson still.. on band 25/26.... they contacted Ericsson for me via e mail and that's when i was told that my tower is running optimal. But the tower site has capacity issues and then i got a 250$ bill credit.

That sounds like the Ericsson way. Those paste eaters have screwed up many sites around me that worked perfectly when they where first turned on...

  4. It sticks a little after it switches from B41 but everything else seems to work properly.

I've only seen the 1x + LTE bug (or secret feature) for about 30 seconds after an airplane mode cycle but everything else including the import database works from what I can tell.

As for Sprint Zone for me it loaded all the Sprint default crap upon setup but crashes if I try to open the app itself.

I think the sticking is common now on all androids with the last few updates. It looks like the engineering screens are functioning, that is a plus. I am starting to look at getting a new phone, and it would be nice to have Sprint Zone to report sites that the paste eaters from Ericsson have screwed up.

Any other bloatware? I remember my ONE not being that bad, but I have really enjoyed the pure android experience, I am not sure if I want to go back...

  5. Finally have the phone in my hands (arrived on Sat.)  It was purchased directly from HTC (during the 399 promo price.)

    ....

Are the engineering screens accessible? Does it play nice with Signal Check Pro?

I am assuming it was the Sprint version, if so does the Sprint Zone app work on it?

  6. Either error or it has been decommissioned for some reason. There is a site in Northern Nevada not shown on coverage maps but confirmed operating. But it was an expansion site.

After spending some time on the ultimate coverage map, I have noticed at least a half dozen sites that showed no Sprint coverage around them.

  7. Meanwhile, the FedEx flight from Memphis to Sioux Falls was delayed seven hours and just arrived within the hour. If they held the truck that goes from Sioux Falls to the Western South Dakota hub from its normal 1 am departure, it will now leave Sioux Falls at 7-8 am.

It's a five hour drive, but gaining an hour crossing into the Mountain Time Zone. At best it will be in Rapid City around Noonish and out for delivery around 1 pm. Seems kind of late to make it for delivery.

However, this must really be affecting FedEx locally. All their overnights from the Memphis hub come through Sioux Falls. So maybe their drivers are just going to have a really long day? I can't imagine they sent the truck near empty for Sioux Falls at its normal time. They must have held it. Right?

Of course I had rescheduled my whole day to be here this morning when the FedEx guy arrived at his normal time. And I cannot reschedule my afternoon now. Oh well.

Its been a long time since I worked for FedEx, but I am willing to bet one of two things. They might have held the trucks if most of their shipments to Sioux Falls go through the Memphis hub. However I might suspect that there would be a good portion on hand from other locations (Indy and another hub I don't remember where plus anything that was BABOed) and the trucks would go out with that to prevent late shipments on those. Then they probably would then send out additional trucks (after the flight from Memphis arrived) in an attempt to get some of the Standard overnights out on time. It wouldn't save them on lates for First and Priority overnights though....
