  1. I just tried this very one and wasted $97 on it on a Sprint 4S. Weighing my options. I bought one for my 4S and one for my 5S (and Sprint had already unlocked both for international; I needed a domestic unlock.) The auction itself says "SPRINT USA iPhone 6+ 6 5S 5C 5 4S Apple Permanent Factory Unlock Service". Here's some snippets from the guy when challenged when the 4S unlock didn't work. I even sent him a video of me removing the Sprint SIM and putting a T-Mobile SIM in and it saying "SIM not valid". (I even restored in iTunes). Yeah thats what i thought , since its 4S the policy on it only international and doent have usa included in it . that happens with sprint 4S all the time !!! The phone is unlocked but it doesnt support USA thats how the sprint wanted it from apple. So i dont know what to tell you ! why dont you sell it for international website and buy US one later ? I said: The phone was already unlocked for international use; that's why I had the Orange SIM. The reason I purchased your unlock code was to get the domestic unlock working, and you seemed to be one of the only ones on eBay that offered that service. I also purchased an unlock for my 5S (which is also already unlocked for international use)l; and I wanted to use it domestically. Nowhere in your auction do you say that the Sprint unlock is for international use only; so I assumed you meant a full unlock, including domestic. I got this back from him: And also want to clarify one more thing if i could. The add did not say for domestic use, did not say any sim , but it did say sim lock remover. which your phone is presented simlock - unlocked I dont mean to be rude or anything, but we did our part actually the phone it self does not support the us sim and its not our fault it sprint crazy policy! You said the 5S also internationally unlocked but is not true , its fully locked to sprint. So there is little contradiction in your story and We are not accusing you of anything but you have to understand that we have over 6000+ transactions a year and we seen a lot of people trying to do all kinds of stuff. So to be fair the apple data showed its sim unlocked so i think it would be fair to say we did our job , dont you think ? I sent him a picture of my Sprint international unlocked 5S with an Orange SIM in it, running on T-Mobile (About screen said "EE" for carrier bundle, 8.1.2 iOS and the serial number of the phone). Also, I told him this: The Sprint iPhone 5S with IMEI XXXXXXXXXX is fully unlocked for international use. I have an Orange SIM in it, and have attached a picture (via eBay messages). Carrier type shows up as "EE 18.0" and "T-mobile" is in the title bar. Sprint did this for me a few months back. The screen shot shows the IMEI very clearly, as well as the Carrier and carrier bundle. Also, in relation to the auction, you state "factory unlock service." I've been dealing with cellular phones since the early 90's. A GSM "unlock" means just that - it can take any GSM SIM which the phone will support on the frequencies built into the device. A GSM lock restricts a phone to the MCC-MNC of a particular SIM so that others will not work in that phone. Unlocking it removes this MCC-MNC restriction. There is a sentence in your auction stating that it unlocks the phone to "any carrier in any country" - which means someone reading it to purchase it would think that you can unlock a Sprint phone to work on AT&T, T-Mobile, or any carrier in any country. Nothing states "international only." I understand you have many happy customers, and I'm not accusing you of anything negative. All I'm saying is that you stated in the auction that this was a "factory unlock", which when read, sounds like I can take my Sprint iPhone and use it on AT&T or T-Mobile (any carrier, any country). If you cannot unlock these phones completely to where I can use them on T-Mobile or AT&T, I would appreciate my two fees refunded to me. I got this back: You do have a point , and of course picture does not prove anything But i can give you full refund on 5s (even though it will unlocked with this service) and partial on 4s since we can cancel the first one but cant do on 4S since its done !! and money been paid to supplier. please understand that, we only doing that cause we care about satisfied customer not because you proving to us something or we proving you other wise. We have a lot on our plate and honestly do not have time for this debates I'm currently contemplating on how to word this to Paypal. I'm sure that he's probably sold more than 200+ of these things, and if you look in the auction, nowhere anywhere does it say "this unlock will not work on domestic". I know that's Sprint's policy, but if this guy is giving false hope to those looking for a domestic unlock by whatever method he's using, he really needs to get straightened out.
  2. I saw this post and was like "What?" Just a lurker and financial contributor here. Don't have too much to say. All hail my ancient Qualcomm QCP-2700! It was a tank.... Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk HD
  3. Nope. Last one in after 10 gets kicked off.
  4. Dslreports is now covering this. I also sent a note to Ars Technica about it. http://www.dslreports.com/shownews/Sprint-to-Make-All-Devices-Launched-After-21115-Unlockable-128666
  5. Well, they just updated their unlocking policy again... http://www.sprint.com/legal/unlocking_policy.html I love this... who's writing this crap (in bold)? Really? No technological process available? It's called "Ask Apple to unlock it." Apple themselves has admitted the carriers control the process for asking Apple to unlock the device. Wow. I've been told by another carrier that Sprint needs to unlock my SIM slot in order to use my phone on the other carrier's network. For eligible devices, Sprint will unlock the SIM slot, to the extent that a device SIM slot is capable of being unlocked. It is important to note that not all devices are capable of being unlocked, often because of the manufacturers' device designs, and that even for those devices capable of being unlocked, not all device functionality may be capable of being unlocked. Specifically, devices manufactured with a SIM slot within the past three years (including, but not limited to, all Apple iPhone devices), cannot be unlocked to accept a different domestic carrier's SIM for use on another domestic carrier's network. Sprint has no technological process available to do this. In accordance with Sprint's voluntary commitment contained within CTIA's Consumer Code for Wireless Service (“Unlocking Commitment”), Sprint is working to ensure that all devices developed and launched on or after February 11, 2015 are capable of being unlocked domestically.
  6. Yeah.. with the CSIM swapping and MEID locking and the MEID having to be in inventory... if you get past that, it looks like the Sprint model has all the bands Verizon does plus, the Sprint one has bands 18 (is this one even used in the US?) and 26 (SMR). Model A1533 (CDMA) (Verizon)*: CDMA EV-DO Rev. A and Rev. B (800, 1700/2100, 1900, 2100 MHz); UMTS/HSPA+/DC-HSDPA (850, 900, 1700/2100, 1900, 2100 MHz); GSM/EDGE (850, 900, 1800, 1900 MHz); LTE (Bands 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 8, 13, 17, 19, 20, 25) Model A1453 (CDMA) (Sprint): CDMA EV-DO Rev. A and Rev. B (800, 1700/2100, 1900, 2100 MHz); UMTS/HSPA+/DC-HSDPA (850, 900, 1700/2100, 1900, 2100 MHz); GSM/EDGE (850, 900, 1800, 1900 MHz); LTE (Bands 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 8, 13, 17, 18, 19, 20, 25, 26)
  7. I do notice the account notices I get about people joining or leaving are somewhat behind the number of Framily members noted in MySprint. Their system must have serious back end synchronization issues.
  8. I've been confirmed as like #9 on someone's plan, so I'm Ok now. Hit a local LTE tower yesterday and boy, it was nice. I think I'm going to like this $35 with 3GB, but might go to the $45 for unlimited when they light up LTE.
  9. Has anyone tried a Sprint iphone 5S sim yet in a Verizon iphone 5S? :-)
  10. Well, it appears to have been me that was kicked out; I got the dreaded note. However, I think I'm in a new one now which only had 8 when I joined, so I'm safe
  11. Heh... I'm not the oldest one. I am curious though. When I joined the Framily via my employers Sprint site, it said I was #9 when I ordered.
  12. So is one going to be kicked off? If so, which one?
  13. +1. I'm using the Ting MVNO right now with an iPhone 4S, but am looking for the 3GB of data.. so if I can hop on somewhere for $35/mo, that'd be awesome.
  14. If anyone hears about the implementation about the CTIA order, please post it. There are six principles: 1) Disclosure - Must post requirements for unlocking for both prepaid and postpaid on their website 2) Postpaid unlocking policy 3) Prepaid unlocking policy 4) Notice - notifying customers when their device is eligible for unlocking, and automatically unlock the device when it becomes eligible for unlocking (!?). 5) Response time - two day turnaround 6) Deployed personnel unlocking policy They are supposed to implement three of the above principles within 3 months of the CTIA document (December 12th, so that means by March 12th). The rest need to be implemented within 12 months of the CTIA document (December 12th).
  15. Any updates on this policy yet? Would be nice to get a Sprint iPhone 4S unlocked formally by the carrier :-)
