  1. The highways in Fort Lauderdale/Miami are blanketed with wall to wall B41.  Can't complain about the experience on those if you have a triband device.  I can't say the same for the areas off the highway.. those were hit or miss.  There are also still plenty coverage gaps with the initial B26 rollout.  My guess is they haven't optimized much yet, possibly because so much b41 work is still being done.  South FL is definitely over saturated without B41 though..  Saw that very vividly on a couple towers near where I was staying that went live between a couple of my trips.  Speeds on B25/26 were sub 1mbps prior to b41 going live, and 6-10mbps after.

Crazy how much pressure b41 can relieve on the other two bands.

  2. LOL. So after emailing the promotions people 3 times, I have decided to go to their online chat to get an answer ASAP because I am tired of waiting. First, I go to the live chat option on my phone last night and everything is going fine until the window will no longer scroll down and the I can not type in the chat box. So that starts with my frustration. Next, I go to their desktop website on my MBP and try and load up live chat, and that does not work. I turn off pop up blocker assuming thats it. Still does not work... Have to load up chrome which then allows the chat to start. The window opens up and the chat window is still small to reach the text box to type in so I have to expand the window (probably the issue with doing it on a mobile device).

And now I am waiting. Let's just say that if samsung really wants to convert Apple users over to their devices, they need to step up their shit. I know I am spoiled by having an Apple store 30 minutes away and usually having my issue resolved immediately, but this is kinda ridiculous. As a person who is well versed with technology, there is no reason it should've been that complicated for me to do one thing. How would you expect an average person to do that? They would have no idea....and there isn't a Samsung store to just go ask what's wrong with your phone at.

Yet again, I am reminded why I stick with apple. That and their live chat actually works.

Edit: update. This is what I was told. I don't blame Dyana, I blame samsung.

  3. I'll stick with 64 gb. If I even ugprade. I asked yesterday and it would be $250 to restart my 2 year contract and I would have to give them my phone (buyback). Since they're offering 360 for it, it would end up costing me about 200 bucks for a new 2 year contract and 64 gb iPhone 6s.

    Ill debate on doing it.

  4. Seriously. How is 7 gb of mobile hotspot not enough. I would love to have maybe even 3, or 5. Just for emergency situations. But that probably won't ever be offered to me until I get off this legacy plan. But whatever.

2 terabytes its a ridiculous amount of data. When I had Comcast I would monitor my internet usage. At most we would use around 300 gb a month. That is between every single device in the house being on wifi, movies, hulu, netflix, youtube, and web browsing, and all guests using wifi as well. I will not believe that anybody approaching that much is only using their smart phone to watch netflix. No, they are tethering illegally, and there is no doubt about it. Hell. We binge watched all of Dexter for about a month straight and still didn't even reach that much.

Damnit. Let me know. There are two clear towers around here both of which I pick up in my house, and neither are broadcasting b41.

  6. Battery life would drop more than it already is if the screen kept lighting up with every notification. It's cool, but I don't see it working on Android without Motorola's implementation with active notifications on an amoled screen. Until manufacturers stop trying to make our phones into a razor blade and use a good sized battery many Android phones will be stuck with the notification light instead.

Defintely. It just took me forever tot realize that's why it isn't showing up. I thought I had to turn a setting off. [emoji23]

  7. When I was playing with a G4 a few weeks ago, I also had terrible battery life. The phone ran hot, and drained super quick. This was stock, out of the box with a few apps added. I think skinned Android in general is just a battery draining pig, full of background processes doing a million things. This leaves a bad taste for iPhone users who occasionally take peek at that other side of mobile life. I did like my nexus 5 last year. It was a very fast, clean, no bullsh*t device. If it had a better camera, a better battery, and visual voicemail, I may have used it for a very long time.

The nexus 5 actually still remains one of my favorite devices. I almost bought one simply for testing Sprints network but sided aganist it because poor.

  8. Dang I wish you had a better experience or a different device other than the regular edge. I think this is one big focus group for Samsung to see why people stick with apple. I bet you after everyone takes their survey those improvements will be in the next galaxy phones.

I sure hope they send out a detailed survey. AT the end where it says if I have an additional comments, I'll make sure to leave some. I think the phone is beautiful... The screen is amazing (certainly better than iPhones screen). It's just that they just haven't gotten it right yet.

  9. That's what quick charging and wireless charging are for. Yes it drains fast, but at least it is easy to charge.

When you're near the charger though...I guess when you're out and about and hoping your battery life will last, it just...ya know...won't. LOL

  10. Doubt you have a dud. Honestly just sounds like typical S6 battery.

That's horrible. No wonder people stick with stock android. The phone has potential to be a killer, but the battery life is legit it's own demise. I wouldn't take this phone if you gave it to me for free.
