  1. Was just forced to get new iPhone(mine commited iphoneicide probably because it will suck with the new iOS when they release it in fall), so obviously I got the 5 because I want LTE when its available. Had LTE for a few seconds over near water ford lakes in my apartment complex, victoria place apartments....Didn't get to  test the speed because I had to run home to restore my phone and get speedtest app back on...

I'm excited! even though I had to spend 400 bucks to get a new phone, but sprint gave me a 150+ credit and I got a bunch of "free stuff" with my trade in so I  guess that worked out....Oh well, Sh*$ happens yeh?

  2. We're all pretty much just masochistic people at this point. On some level, I'm sure most of us just enjoy following the rollout and looking forward to getting LTE more than actually having it. Living proof by the fact that we have Sprint.

Haha isn't that the truth. I tell you, when I was living in Gardens and my 3g speeds bumped up to 2.3 mb download, I was ecstatic!  I was so excited that I could actually use my phone, outside of my house without having any issues.

I do quite enjoy following the roll out. It excites me to see people posting about getting lte so close to my house, and if and when sprint gets their network 100% done, it will be far superior to ATT and Verizon and whatever else is claiming to have the best 4g network around.

  3. Yesterday I went to Winn Dixie to get sustenance, and was going to get pizza afterwards and pick it up since I was out rather than delivery.... A huge mistake not to load the map before leaving the house.....The data network essentially "stopped" and even though having 5 bars, said there was no network connectivity. Could not even load the map. So we drove home, sat in the car and used the wifi for a moment, and then left again. Two trips in one. By the time we got to the pizza place which is no more than 2 miles away, 20% of battery gone..agh! Hurry up network vision

This is how I feel when you guys say you're getting decent 3g and 4g lte lmao.

  4. I'm pretty new to what's going on; what's the best summary that you guys can give for what's currently happening in Orlando, particularly the east/UCF side? I'm about to get a 4g LTE enabled device, and I was wondering what info you guys could give me.

What's the connection quality? Hold ups? When is a likely announcement date for deployment?

Thanks guys, I love this site!

Considering I live fairly close to there near the waterford town center, the data speed on this side of town is literally at a crawl in most places. Good news is that it shows they they have been doing upgrades around the towers in that area, including the one located near the campus. I was near that area today and had full bars, but my data connection was no more than .30 mb download...

Hopefully they will have these towers up and running full time in the next month or so. I wonder if anyone has any information of the status.

  5. Gotcha, it's definitely LTE in name only here at Waterford. The tower on Colonial clearly wasn't meant to cover Waterford fully or has a lot of work ahead of it.

That's for sure. I am on the 3rd floor of my apartment building and can't get service right across from waterford town center......

  6. Lol @ 1.7-2.3 mb download....I'm lucky if I am getting .06 mb download . They should really step it up and get this city activated. So many tourists here, and residents, it would be very nice to be able to use my phone outside of my house haha....

  7. That 2015 date is just a result of the algorithm factoring the current rate of site completion and extrapolating that out over the remaining sites. Since work has slowed way down recently, it would make sense that the completion date would suddenly shoot way out into the future. Once work picks up again, you'll see that date change. It is in no way an actual forecast, it's simply there to give an idea of how quickly work is progressing over the last couple of weeks.

Thank god. I saw that the other day and just ignored it hoping that it was a factor based on upgrades slowing down, and if they continued as this pace...which was probably due to the massive amount of rain we got. Still hoping for the end of summer for it to get implemented.

  8. I had to look up where that is...just moved here a month ago... And that is pretty impressive, assuming we were both looking at the same tower. Thats the kind of range I want to have, so I don't have to compromise because of the location I am at, or the building I am in..

  9. Yeah I posted to my FB a speed test with 8 down and 3 up and someone was like "you think that's fast?" Had to explain to them how that's like 20x or more the normal 3G speed.

    Sent from my Galaxy S3

Well they are probably so close to their tower of course the speeds are fast. From what I read, sprint's multimodal towers will have muchhhhh better coverage because, well its an all in one tower. So I'd happily take a consistent 8 down 3 up until they start pumpin out more juice and getting the rest of towers up and going. Seen some sprint lte tests on youtube that soar over AT&T and Verizon, so I am not worried at all.
  10. The new tower on colonial between dean and rouse at luvlace gas is live. Its being hammered hard though. Near the tower gives very high uploads 7+ but just around 5 for downloads.

Psh, that is still excellent considering what is typical of Orlando's 3g. Getting closer to me :)

  11. You and me both....It is horrible, but when I go on sensorly coverage maps thread, I can see that people are getting 4g lte in and out..I guess it's just the waiting game. Really hope they have it up and running by the time I have my upgrade in September.

  12. I am right across the waterford lakes mall, and let me tell you that I have the absolute worst 3g I have ever experienced, anywhere. Trying to load maps to get anywhere (just moved here so I have no idea where anything is), is a task and by the time I reach my destination my battery has significantly drained. And let's not talk about re-routing if you make a wrong turn, good luck lol. I am really really looking forward to those towers around my area being activated. Even though I have the 4S, I experienced the faster 3g speeds down in Palm Beach Gardens, FL before I moved and they are very enjoyable clocking in average around 1.5-2.3 mb download. I am very excited, hope they pick up the pace. :)
